  1. That gif is fantastic. Very sweet indeed. I like that Will whistled :p.
  2. Yeah, that certainly counts. Aw :(. I missed seeing them root for the Beach Boys. I'd like to see that. It's always fun to see the musicians in the crowd dancing around to some performer on stage at an awards show :D. Today at work, on break I was looking through some magazine, and there was a section about clothing and whatnot for winter weather, and the title of it was "Cold Play". It made me smile. And then I was disappointed that it had nothing to do with the guys :p!
  3. Sounds interesting! Thank goodness for living in a technological age, I assume (hope) video of this will be online for us here in the States, 'cause I want to hear/see this. I really like Noel's "If I Had A Gun" song. It's gorgeous. If that's the one Chris joins in on, that would be friggin' awesome. Thanks for the clips, RedBalloon, shall have to check those out.
  4. Not sure. I just know I really like the look on Chris' face. Fully agree with everyone here, they look absolutely fantastic. I know I saw the MusiCares show on Neil Young on VH1 Classic at one point last year, so I'm pretty sure this will probably air sometime down the line. When, exactly, don't know. But I can't imagine someone won't broadcast it. In the meantime, I shall have to check out the snippets that are available until someone on the internet gives us a full video clip. I never would've pegged "We Can Work It Out" as the song of choice (I always thought they'd do a great version of "Let It Be" or "Hey Jude"), but hey, good song, I'm dying to hear their take on it. Cheese Nip, thanks for the info on all the performances :). Some of those other ones have me rather intrigued, too (Neil Young doing "I Saw Her Standing There"? Ooh. Interesting choice).
  5. 1. Paradise 2. Hurts Like Heaven 3. Charlie Brown
  6. Hello, Row! Grammys were there. Some good performances, some eh ones. Coldplay was fine :). Tribute/shoutout to Whitney Houston here and there throughout, too. *Is glad she didn't have to stay up to see the show, as it started at 7pm central time here, but would have if she needed to*
  7. Ooooooookay, so I just got an image of Chris dancing all sexy to that song wearing (and toying around playfully with) the scarf, and...nothing...er, well, I think you know where I'm going with that :shifty::blush::whistle:. My lord, girls, the pictures shared here...I'd love to quote my favorites, but that would involve, um, well, EVERYTHING. These were a couple of my particular favorites, but hell, the whole of your post was just gorgeous. Singing his heart out. Bless him . Watched the guys at the Grammys tonight. Rather liked the version of "Princess Of China", it works in an acoustic setting. I like the picture of him sticking his tongue out on this page here, too :laugh3:.
  8. And now I'm curious to hear that one. Will have to check around for it.
  9. Ooh, la, la. That's a very nice one. I'm with you, he should wear black more often. *Coughs* Nor did mine. Not at all. Nope. *Coughs* They do look like they're having fun. Aw :). Very cool pictures.
  10. Suuuuuuuuuuuure ;). Hehehe. Well, what else is one supposed to think of when seeing someone sexy, right? You're welcome. I'm glad to hear today's going better :). :laugh3: That's awesome! I...would kinda like to hear Chris sing that now! Those pictures of Chris climbing up the scaffolding and such...whoa. Brave man. Maybe meds had nothing to do with it-maybe he was just in a very energetic mood that day? I'll have to check out postcards' review! Sorry to hear he's feeling a bit under the weather.
  11. Cool! Look forward to hearing whatever comes of that. Heh, oh, geez! Poor Graham.
  12. Sounds like a fine way to deal with a bit of insomnia to me :D. Awesome pictures. I particularly love the ones of him at the piano. Meant to say earlier, by the way, you said you went on a date recently? Not meaning to pry if you don't want to go into it, just asking :).
  13. That's a great idea . I've done that after concerts I've been to as well, and each year at the anniversary (or any ol' time I'm in the mood for it) I pull them out and read them and relive the night all over again. It's nice. I understand what you mean, though, postcards, it's not an easy thing to articulate well. But my GOD, you are a lucky, lucky woman. He looked right at you? Sigh. That pretty much would've made me die a happy woman right then and there. Yep. I'm so incredibly jealous, but I'm so glad you had a great time :D. The pictures are gorgeous (favorites being the one where Chris is sitting on the edge of the stage with his guitar and the one where he's sprawled out on the floor). *Eyes light up, starts bouncing all hyper in seat* Well, I know what I'll be searching out and watching tonight, then. Glad to be in agreement with you and others here-yeah, those sorts of outfits work on him, I would not complain if he dressed that way more often :). And LOL, totally understandable *Nods*. Sorry about your crap day *Sends hugs*. I'm glad this thread's here to cheer you up. Oh. Hel. LO. That's just all sorts of flat out sexy there, that is. Hehehehehe. Great thing to think about, indeed. Between that suggestion/picture and the one from Raphaele above, I have sooooooooo many very, very interesting thoughts running through my head right now. Ehem. Yes.
  14. No, that's fine, and I hope I didn't come off confrontational or anything. I appreciate the honesty, even though I disagree. Yeah. I don't forsee that stuff happening, I really think the collaboration here was, as I said elsewhere, a genuine experiment, just to see what would happen. I don't see this becoming a trend or anything. But if they do more of these, I'd like to see what else happens. I understand if an artist isn't to everyone's liking, but I also would hope people wouldn't shut out listening to it just because it's a "pop" artist or a "rap" artist or whatever. And the whole "they've gone pop" thing still amuses me. I always thought they were pop. They have some rock elements, yes, but they've been in the top 40 for years, most people view them as a pop band as it is (yeah, critics call them alternative, and some people refer to them as a rock band, but there's many average listeners who would beg to differ). Pop isn't just a word confined to the J Los and Britneys and Rihannas and such of the world. Pop can describe all sorts of other bands' sounds, too, even ones that feature actual instruments. They're in their early 30s, bit soon for a midlife crisis, I'd think. And what's so bad about teenagers coming to the band? They can't help when they were born, first off, so it's only natural this will likely be their first introduction to Coldplay, 'cause they were a bit young for the earlier work to sink in, and depending on where they live and what got played in their homes growing up, they may not have had as much exposure as others did to the band's music. Second, between these guys and the other top 40 stuff out there that many here hate, I would think we'd all be fine with teenagers listening to these guys instead of Pitbull or J Lo or whoever. If some teenager's interest is a passing fad, then ride out the fad and they'll move on to their next obsession in a month or two's time. People who really like these guys will dig deeper and stick around, I think.
  15. True :). But it's sort of like a basic ol' tux, it at least spruces a guy up somewhat, if it doesn't make them drop-dead sexy. Agh, I know! I've been hearing so many good things! I missed the stream of the concert tonight :(. I hope to god there are YouTube clips. Or something. I'm dying to see this.
  16. ^^^^That last picture is hot. Oooh. I love that outfit on him. For some reason, when men roll their sleeves up like that, and have that vest over the shirt (or whatever combination it's called elsewhere in the world, I know "vest" means something different in other areas and such), I think that's such a sexy look. I don't know why.
  17. Heck, I heard that song playing in the background during some segment on "Idol" tonight and pointed at the TV, going, "Ooh, hey, that's Coldplay!" to my mom. And I could tell it was them even when the song was playing very faintly to start off with, too :p. NICE. Go, you!
  18. He really is! I love a guy with a great sense of humor. Looks like it. Which makes me happy to see. If he and the band are having fun, that feeling spreads to everyone else at the show :). It's as good a way to pass the time as anything else I can think of . I like this thread because everyone's so nice, and it's so light and fun and a break from all the serious stuff (and 'cause of the gorgeous pictures and video clips and gifs, too, obviously :p). That performance of "Yellow" was fantastic! And so adorable. I love the little asides Chris kept throwing into it ("Look at the builders over there!", the "Antiques Roadshow" joke at the start...). And wow. The stills from it do not lie. He. Looked. GOOD. Yes. I love the other clip of the song Lory shared, too. That's a great performance as well. Ooooooh. I LIKE that one! That's a great picture. Ooh, yeah, that sounds like a good idea for all sorts of reasons (and what a picture to use for such a suggestion) :D. I'm all for a warm-up, too, it's a bit chilly here today. Like that tweet from Chris, interesting to hear his thoughts on Lana Del Ray. Glad they've made it to L.A. safely, too.
  19. That's the first explanation I've heard of for that video that makes complete and total sense to me :p. I love "The Hardest Part" (genuinely do, I love the chorus and the way it's sung, and the sorta alt-country-ish feel of the music), but the video for it is just weird as all get out and not...my...thing at all. I also agree with you about X&Y being a bit too long. It could definitely do with some editing down. I think it's a good album, there's many songs on there I love. But yes, it does have some flaws. Course, I also am sorta aware of the whole story with the mess and problems surrounding the making of X&Y, so there were a lot of other factors at play with that, too. Which is a shame, 'cause, like I said, there is a good album in there.
  20. :laugh3: Oh, definitely. That's a great quote. God bless that man. Hihi :D! Indeed! The ones from that show in Atlanta look FUN! Seems he had a blast at that show. It sure is. Seriously, this thread is almost like some online version of a sleepover party or something :p. Bunch of girls hanging out gushing over a cute guy and being all silly. I am going to need to look up the performance of "Yellow" those stills are from, apparently. Good lord, he looks so handsome. *Off to watch the i-concert performance clip*
  21. So, it's fine to have the opinion that they like the album, but for them to dare suggest it can compare to, if not be better than, their earlier work would be wrong to admit and they're "fooling themselves"? Isn't that still their opinion? Some do, some don't. I have read professional reviews of this album that were glowing. It's all a matter of opinion, on both ends. Or not. Just because they work with Rihanna doesn't mean they're automatically crossing over to some "dark pop side". The dismissive attitude about certain music doesn't make sense to me, nor does this: It's totally fine to dislike the album, to each their own. But one misstep and people are proclaiming "I'm done" and giving up? I could understand being upset if they'd had a streak of bad work, album after album being bad, then that sentiment might have some merit. But this is the first one someone doesn't like and suddenly it's a big deal, a major problem? No band is perfect. Every one will make a misstep here and there. All my favorite artists have made works that I'm not particularly fond of. But the fact that they overall consistently make good music means I'm willing to allow them the occasional falter. It happens. It's not the end of the world if they mess up every now and again. Nobody here is perfect every day at their jobs, are they? You all mess up, right? Well, this is these guys' job. They have brilliant days, they have bad days. I mean no disrespect to anyone here, again, you're all entitled to your feelings on this whole thing. Just some of the dramatics about it strike me kind of funny. Nice post, Nikola, by the way. That's pretty much how I've viewed it, too.
  22. I don't get that, either. I've never used that word to describe something I didn't like. If I think something sucks I just flat out state that it, well, sucks. :laugh3: How dare they go against their stereotypes and be individual beings!
  23. So. Incredibly. Jealous. I need to get to England, like, now. Seriously, that is very, very, VERY cool. I love that they hung around to talk, and I love knowing that they were so friendly and nice and kind to you-Chris saying "happy birthday" to you repeatedly, that's just awesome. My respect for them keeps going up :). That is most certainly THE best birthday present I could think of for anybody, and I'm so glad you were lucky enough to have this experience. Fantastic story, love the pictures (you're so pretty!), and happy birthday as well!
  24. ^^^^:laugh3: I hate Slipknot. And they're from my state! I've never understood how calling a band "gay" automatically makes for a good argument as to why one shouldn't listen to that band. But then again, logic often isn't a strong point for people who talk like that. Exactly. The lead singer's always going to get most of the notice. But yeah, I'd still like to look at the other threads, too. After all, the band wouldn't be what they are without those guys as well, right? I approve of the Viva era obsession, by the way :).
  25. Oh, god, no kidding. Those movements he makes when he's sitting there are very...hypnotizing, to put it politely. Mmhm. You're welcome, and yeah, he sure is :D. This place is great that way. It's nice to have other people who get it. I have no problem with his shoes, either. I think they add to his unusual style. Course, then again, I'm rarely ever looking at his shoes to begin with, so...:p. It is, isn't it? I like it, too. That'd be awesome. "Mom, look what I found on my doorstep! Can I keep them? Please? I'll take good care of them, I promise!" God, that smile...*Sighs*
