Do you like Princess of China?
You're welcome. I'm glad someone got what I meant with that, I didn't know quite how to phrase it :). And glad you agree as well.

Random Coldplay thoughts...
Adam Lambert in Queen? Wow. Hm. That'd be interesting...he's certainly got the appreciation for the flamboyant that Freddie did, and I think he'd certainly have fun with and respect for the band's work. But it's pretty freakin' hard to replace/attempt to replicate Freddie's vocal style, I don't care who you are. Those are quite the shoes to fill. Eh, well. If he does join, my curiosity will be piqued. Anywho. Coldplay talk: ...oh, wow, your friend's right! Aw. Poor Will, indeed. Yeah. He should get a nice little description for his thread. I really should check out the threads for Will, Jonny, and Guy, 'cause I love them, too (and have a definite crush on Guy as well-he's a friggin' cutie). I like the idea also of getting children into these guys' music :). If I ever have kids someday, they'll definitely hear this band at some point and time, and hopefully they'll be fans, too.

What is your favourite Coldplay song today?
It is . And the drums are fantastic throughout, too-I love how they open the song. Ah, hell, let's just say the whole song is perfection, eh :D? I'll have to give that a listen :). I approve of your "Jonny rocks out" mood choices. Those would be excellent picks for that, I love those songs.

Coldplay In Your Life Soundtrack
Good idea for a thread :). Let's see...in order of importance: 1. Fix You: I know exactly what it's like to want to make things better for someone when they're struggling. And on the flip side, all the situations/feelings in this song have been part of my life of late in so many ways. This song always, always makes me cry, but it's very comforting as well-it's like a big musical hug from a friend, if that makes sense. 2. Paradise: Pretty much sums me up. Wanting to just escape into a happier, better world, and since I can't do that literally right now, like the girl in the song, I dream of it. It's sad, yet hopeful. 3. Politik: Can definitely relate to the mindset expressed in the song, especially the "give me love over this" deal. 4. The Scientist: Because it's my favorite song, it's the one that really clenched my interest in the band, and I think it's a very honest song about love and relationships as well. 5. Talk: Makes me think of my dad. He always liked this song. And again, I relate to the lyrics quite well, too.

The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
First time I heard "Blackout" I actually stopped what I was doing, it caught my attention that strongly. It's always a very good sign for a song when it makes me react that way. The song just gives me chills, especially the part where Matt's voice meets up and crescendos with the strings after the last verse, and I get such vivid images in my head when I listen to it. I love it when music makes me do that. Love those other songs, too. There's not a bad spot on that album. I'm glad you're enjoying it so much :).

Do you like Princess of China?
I do like this song, it's actually one of my favorites off the album. It's incredibly catchy, and I never would've pegged Rihanna and Chris's voices as working together, but I think they do. I think they also worked with her not because they were hoping to reach the top 40 crowd but because they genuinely wanted to try something with her, it's a sincere experiment, I feel, and I like that. I'm very curious to see how their performance at the Grammys will go :).

I'd be more than happy to take the interviewer's place...sit between those two lovelies...just saying. Glad to be in agreement :D. You're welcome :). And lord, yes, is that ever true. I do love me a hot guy picspam. These pictures in particular...*Sighs*. No need for apologies :D. Can't think of a better way to go. 1. Congrats on 500 posts. 2. I...uh...that...pretty...hot...*Faints* (That first pic-am I the only one who feels an urge to want to poke his stomach Pillsbury dough boy style :p?) So did I . Most definitely enjoyed it *Feels like she should get a cigarette, even though she doesn't smoke*. This thread rules.

The Community Thread
Nope, still no definite news on when. Last I heard, it sounded like it'd be sometime in March or April at the earliest, and that was stated back shortly after the hiatus had been announced. God willing it won't be any later than that. I know how you feel. It's driving me nuts, too. NBC's done a great job of pissing viewers off in recent years.

Dissappointment with MX
Um, yeah, this, totally (I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your beloved dog *Sends hugs*. That's always a really tough thing to deal with). I too have gone through some really crap times these last couple years. This album makes me feel hopeful and optimistic about getting past those rough moments and feel better knowing I'm not alone in struggling. "Paradise" is pretty much how I've felt the last couple years summed up in a nutshell, "Charlie Brown" sounds so incredibly freeing, "Us Against The World" is so calming and soothing and reassuring...I could go on (plus, the album has a very distinctly '80s vibe to it, and I'm always a sucker for that. Chalk it up to childhood nostalgia :p). Comparatively speaking, Viva La Vida, to date, is my favorite album. Lyrically, I think it's one of their strongest efforts, and the music they experimented with hits all the right buttons-it's perfect start to finish. Parachutes and A Rush of Blood... I will always have a love for because the songs remind me of my teenage years, and some of the songs on there are among my absolute favorite of their work ever; hell, some of them are my favorite songs, period, by anyone. X&Y is dark, moody, beautiful, and has "Fix You", which is one of the most personally meaningful songs I've ever heard. Each album has its own reason for appealing to me, the ultimate connection between all of them being how much the songs mean to me. And the new one is no exception, in my view. I fully understand wanting a band to harken back to sounds their fans loved in the past. But if they just keep doing that, then people will complain because they haven't changed their sound (and the complaints may, ironically, come from some of the same people currently upset with the change in sound). One can argue with the way they changed their sound, and how sincere it is, and I think that's the big issue here for most people who aren't into the album. And in that case, I can understand some of the concerns-even if I disagree, I get it. They're fair points to consider during these debates.

Like I said, every time I hear that song now (and I heard it a few times within one day yesterday)... Can't. Stop. Thinking. Of. That. Clip. Will definitely look at your work on that site, Row. I fully understand trying to keep your oils and stuff from being messed up by all those rascals in your home, but maybe someday you can find a space somewhere to keep everything, so you can start it up again (if you want to). Amateur or no, your work is fantastic :).

 Looks hot, sounds hot (that "honey, honey" bit in the song...yeah. I reeeeeeeeally like that part. A lot). Just all around good stuff, that song/video. I say "chest hair" *Shrugs*. "Breast hair" sounds funny and disturbing all at the same time :p. Row, that picture is gorgeous (which is appropriate given the subject :D). I love the colors you used, the eyes are perfection, I like the way you drew his hair, letting it frame his face just right...it's absolutely beautiful. You're one hell of a talented girl! *Swoons, melts from the complete and total adorableness of these pictures* That is an incredibly cool picture of the guys. I really love the way the piano's decorated for this tour, I want a piano that looks like that! Mennesker, congrats on 1,000 posts! I'm getting close to...200. Yeah :p.

Charlie Brown Music Videos (Live & Studio - both videos in first post)
Thank you. Coldplay always has been "mainstream". Whether people like them or not, they've always gotten played on the radio and TV, and always been in magazines, and everyone (or almost everyone) knows who they are. A Rush of Blood to the Head was a huge success sales-wise when it came out all the way back in 2002. All of which, to me, is the definition of mainstream. It's not exactly like they've been dwelling underground for most of their career or anything. And one could argue their music's always had a "pop" element to it anyway (many people I know chuckle when they're referred to as an "alternative" band, or a "rock" band, especially the latter). "Pop" can refer to the sound, it's an abbreviation for something that is popular, which Coldplay have been, etc. Also, the whole argument about "just making a video similar to all the other ones you see on TV nowadays"-well, again, look to their past-videos like "Lost", and the latter half of "Fix You", and "Clocks", those are mainly live performance videos, which is a very common type of video that's been seen on TV over the years. Hell, they've even imitated themselves-"The Scientist" and "What If" both employ the same backwards storyline, from consecutive albums. I'm not saying they're not an inventive, creative band, I definitely think they are and have proven it in all sorts of ways, and it's one reason of many why I love them. And again, I'm certainly not going to force anyone to change their mind about the video or their new music, if you don't like it, you don't like it and that's fine :). But the idea that they're just now all of a sudden starting to do things that everyone else in the world is doing/has done, well, I'd say there's evidence to the contrary.

Yes. That one is indeed quite nice :D. He seems to do that "shield face slightly with hand" move quite often, and I rather like the way he does it. You got it :). Definitely shorter to type, yes. Relatives aside, enjoy your lunch. Maybe it won't be so eh.

*Snorts, giggles* Man, he's so polite. I can only imagine how mind-numbing it'd be having to answer the same fifty questions day in and day out. I got tired at Christmastime of having to ask the same five questions of customers coming to check out their merchandise ("Is this all for you today?", "May I see your ID?", "Do you need a sack for these books?", etc., etc.), for crying out loud! Comicforce...ahhhh, yes, the first two are the particular part I was looking for! But then you got a couple more awesome ones beyond that point, too (I like the third one in particular)! And they're top quality as well. Thank you very much :D. On a related note, that gif from the new video of Chris looking all wide-eyed is really starting to freak me out :p.

Charlie Brown Music Videos (Live & Studio - both videos in first post)
 (to the second one especially-HELL, yes. That'd be awesome. Lord knows the song already sounds like something straight out of the mid-'80s, might as well go all the way with that)

Occupy Wall Street Movement
Ah. Exactly. Plus, these people say they want to help the public, they should, literally, put their money where their mouths are. They wouldn't have that campaign money if it weren't for the voters who supported them, so they should use it to help the people who got them to where they are. Hm. "Fact-checkers", maybe? They can have someone out there whose sole job it is to compile all the actual facts of the voting records and statements and such (which can be found online or in newspapers or in the record keeping systems) of every candidate running. Then they can put those facts about every candidate on sheets and give a copy out to a group of people comprised of varying political affiliations. The group can then look at each candidate's ads, look at the information they've been given, and go from there. And the results can be shared with the public after that. Or something along that line. I do like your idea, definitely. I fully agree it's high time we had someone come along to help change the way political ads are done so that the actual truth about a candidate can get out there and we stop seeing so much smear campaigning. I just want to make sure that the method we use to do that doesn't cause as much, if not more, confusion, corruption, and political bias as the ads themselves do.

Charlie Brown Music Videos (Live & Studio - both videos in first post)
...I honestly never thought of it that, Mylo and Xyloto as people and such. I like the way you took that. It makes me want to watch again and look at it in that way now. My take: When the girl climbed out the window, I actually thought this was going to turn into some sort of awesome, dark, go-on-a-chase thriller type of story, mixed in with whatever was going on at Coldplay's color party (which looks like loads of fun and which I would love to be at). I kinda wish it had gone in that vein-like a girl escaping from the people and things in life holding her back or hurting her and (literally) going off to a brigher future ('cause that's what the song itself comes off as for me), to this party rave thingamabob. And I would've thrown in a Peanuts reference of some kind, damnit :p. On the other hand, there's also a very romantic element to the song, so the romance in the video, with the people kissing (which doesn't bother me one bit, though I never thought of the argument made here about how common that is in videos now) and everyone all watching fireworks together at the end and leaning against each other all lovingly makes perfect sense, too. Definitely, visually, as others have said, this is a feast for the eyes-I love the colors all over, the brightness, the party atmosphere at spots. I just might've altered the storyline a bit, is all. But I do like the video nonetheless. It sure as hell makes more sense for the song/album concept than the video for "The Hardest Part" did for, well, anything (unless there is a point to that video I've completely missed). Also, count me in that apparently small group that likes every aspect of Coldplay's career. The constant change they've gone through the last few years in particular interests me greatly, and I look forward to seeing what other directions they'll go in the future. I love the simplicity of Parachutes as much as I love the big world expansion of Viva La Vida or the sound-changing Mylo Xyloto. But then again, I'm like that with all my favorite bands, I've always had a hard time finding a preference for a certain sound or era or whatever. But if this new sound isn't doing it for somebody, that's fine, too. To each their own :).

The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
I hadn't, no! I was without internet at various times the last year or so, so I've missed out on a lot. Oh, Matt. That was...entertaingly weird. Who the hell is he taunting out of shot there ? And his opening line made me laugh for probably all the wrong reasons. Going out and partying with him must be quite the spectacle sometimes. I did like hearing him say Edge was better than a UFO. I'm sure Edge would appreciate that (strange) compliment. Also, man, there are times Dom really reminds me of a female friend of mine in regards to his facial expressions. It's sorta scary, the similarity.

He is! The comments from Ricky and them in that clip are exactly why I don't comment one way or another on most celebrities, because I know often you're only seeing a side of them in public that to some people may be "pompous" or "annoying" or "serious" or whatever...but then you see things like this and see just how fun and genuine and self-deprecating they really are. Course, I'd never had a problem with Chris' personality to begin with, I'd always thought he seemed like a really nice, down to earth guy. That clip just further confirmed my thoughts. That was so freakin' adorable and hilarious. I liked the way he dragged out the word "Because..." when answering a question.

You know you're addicted to Coldplay when...
Haha, hey, you certainly have the color scheme down! As for the song, hey, in this day and age, it's near impossible for songs to not have any sort of similiarities show up. Which is why I always find it funny when some big debate comes out about, "Oh, my god, they ripped off so and so!"

D'oh, I just caught that after asking the question :p. Thanks, I'll be off to watch this, as well as the new video again, then!

LMAO. The fact that you have to tell yourself to not do that to begin with indicates there's not much hope of resisting :p. That photoshopped picture is funny. I do wish Chris would actually walk around like that once, though... He did look a bit crazy, yeah! I'm glad I'm not the only one who got a bit startled and noticed that infamous look that everyone's now gif-ing (is that a word? If not, it is now). He sure does look good, though, and that party he and the guys are at looks FUN! So many bright, flashing colors! I wish I were there. (The main storyline didn't quite go where I thought it might at first-I might've taken it in another direction. But it's still cool. And god, do I love that song-I feel like I should be in a car with its top down, arms outstretched, flying down an open road or something (with someone else at the wheel, obviously) when I hear it) You have a tendency to do that . And we love you for it. (Well, and just 'cause you're a cool person in general, but...yeah) Oh, that's okay! Yeah, whenever you find a moment, certainly no rush or anything. Go do whatever else you need/want to do first :). Thanks for even agreeing to take it on at all. This is cute! What's it from?

The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
Yeah, I always thought it was about aliens, too-one of Matt's favorite topics :p. Great song, though, I love the beat throughout. Put in my votes. Not that my American opinion will matter much . I hate it when two things/people I like are up for something-I love both Matt and Dom, how can they make me choose like that? I went for Matt, though. What's this about "another drunk interview", by the way? Sounds fun.
