2. This isn't exactly Coldplay related but I need some Coldplay fan help. In 2012 Apparatjik (band that includes Guy) released Draft 7 of Square Peg In A Round Hole on their Facebook. I downloaded it when it was released but have since lost the files. I know the album is out but I liked the drafts mixing of a couple songs, especially Sequential and Your Voice Needs Subtitles better. I was hoping someone on here has the original files and could share them with me. I know the songs are on YouTube but I was looking for specifically the original files.
3. I think every fan has to go through a phase of learning that everyone isn't going to want to spend time to understand why you like the band, and Coldplay is a pretty easy band to hate on. Never been cool, never been edgy or controversial, never been really anything but guys who make music which for a lot of mainstream listeners is pretty dull. Couple that with the few select tracks that were spread across America (Clocks, Speed of Sound, later VLV) and even I could get sick of them. In fact, before I was a fan I was a hater. My sister originally was the fan in our family around AROBTTH and X&Y, I couldn't stand hearing them on the family computer while I was trying to do homework, watch TV, etc, etc. When VLV came around I was hooked onto Violet Hill when the single released. From then on I went back into the older albums and found out I actually liked them. I still skip over Clocks and SoS most of the time honestly.
4. If you haven't read it yet, or weren't around when it was released, check out Matt McGinn's book, it's only $3.34 on Google Play / Amazon https://play.google.com/store/books/details?id=9lDACAAAQBAJ&source=productsearch&utm_source=HA_Desktop_US&utm_medium=SEM&utm_campaign=PLA&pcampaignid=MKTAD0930BO1&gl=US&gclid=CNHZvIXqw84CFZPo6QodIY4Dag&gclsrc=ds Mobile Link: https://www.amazon.com/Roadie-My-Life-Road-Coldplay-ebook/dp/B00QMJ517U/ref=tmm_kin_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=&sr=#nav-subnav
5. I'm a big fan of the guitar and bass on PoC. It's enough to carry the song really, very catchy.

No Drum Machine > Drum Machine
7. I'd take Everything's Not Lost live again over a new song honestly.
8. A new song won't tell us much, and it's likely to be something along the lines of Atlas/Miracles where it was "asked" upon them to write something for a cause or upcoming event and not a genuine Coldplay song like Christmas Lights. If anything it's just more anxiety for me because even though my expectations have been forcefully beaten down the past 5 years I still hold out for something that will click with me again. I mean even the ETIAW EP didn't prepare us for what we got from MX.
9. Title: A Rush of Blood to the Head Politik In My Place GPASUYF The Scientist Clocks Daylight Green Eyes Warning Sign A Whisper AROBTTH Amsterdam : )
10. If you really do read the whole thing I'd love to hear what you think are the central themes of it and maybe some of the highlights, I hopped on about halfway through right now I think but I do recall reading most of it.
11. I fluctuate between accepting their new music and holding ASFOS in one hand and Everything's Not Lost in the other and trying to understand what happened. Now that I think about it, it actually is kind of difficult to piece together a timeline that led them to ASFOS, which to me is the most difficult to swallow track from the new albums if you were to compare them to the first four. I've heard a lot of people say VLV was a transition but aside from VLV itself having a thumping drum and a few studio tricks on Chris's voice I'd argue that the rest of the album is pretty firmly planted in their old design. I guess it would help if people would list what makes the first four Oldplay and what makes the new albums Newplay.
12. If you check the periscopes from coldplayings twitter I was actually really close to that person, at the beach now but I'll post it when I get home. This was way better than MX at Wells Fargo, and even though newplay isn't my first choice, there's no question that when it's live it's amazing. The crowd was really into it too, considering picking up tickets for made in America to see them again but i think I'm probably going to pass since it's a festival
13. Philly was amazing. I didn't expect it to be as good as it was but I was really blown away and the crowd was really into it.
14. I agree, when I first heard about the requests I assumed you were going to vote on the site as their site has always been pretty useful compared to other bands. I get that it would be most likely the same results quantity wise but the way they do it now definitely has shown they're content with using it as a way to flex in "requested" songs. I don't think it's too much to ask that you brush up how to play a song that you wrote every now and then. It especially irks me when he acknowledges that there are fans that do like different periods of the band and then gives them the cold shoulder by playing the same 5 songs we've heard all tour with just enough surprises cooked in to give us hope.
15. As far as the requests go we've seen what amount of effort they put into it so idk if I'd even want to see something like Everything's Not Lost and have it ruined in front of me (Philly on Saturday). With that being said I will predict that it'll be In My Place. If I had to make a wish I think Lost! would sound really nice with Will's Cajón and be relatively hard for Chris to mess up.
16. I'll take as many live performances of X&Y as I can
17. Always liked the piano versions of Yellow more honestly
18. I do miss them. I think the last "skit" they did was the End of Decade sale, man if I only had the money to get that old Yamaha piano they had.
19. X&Y still has some really nice tracks, it's hard to say that it was when they turned but it was clearly not like the previous two. VLV if anything was them righting the ship with really creative and interesting tracks and overall a great period of music for them. I understand why people see VLV as the beginning of the end but to me I think they just dropped the ball going into MX, especially having seen it all unfold in real time. I think ETIAWs release was a bit of a question but was reassured with MM and MTM. Once Paradise dropped I honestly had no idea what to expect anymore but I knew it wasn't going to be anything good.
20. Ah maybe someone else can confirm, I only recall them using Midnight between moving stages.
21. I haven't checked but I'm fairly sure they're not trying to imply it's live. I think they just play bits of the studio track between songs.
