Coldplay & co and their save the world projects
 The constant flying is part of their job, as is with every band. Unless one rides a bicycle to work/school every morning, one can't point fingers. It's the same concept, just a bigger extreme as they work all over the world. Either way, Coldplay are not environmentalist. They have done things to help improve the environment in certain locations, but their focus has always been to help reduce poverty, not the conditions of the earth. There's quite a difference.

CCC commercial/trailer
The DVD is turning out nicely, but Rodan is just missing a few videos to complete it. We're not sure when it'll be completed but it won't be long, hopefully!

Creating a torrent
It's fairly easy.. on most programs you just click on "File" and then "Create Torrent". You'll need a tracker, and the public ones vary depending on which torrent client you're using. Here's a guide that lists a few public trackers for µTorrent, BitComet and Azureus. If you guys use another one, try googling for public trackers for that client.

Do You Use Google?
You can't forget about this.. :nice: Helmets for Life This November, Isara will begin a 2,500 km (1,550 mile) trek around Thailand, promoting motorcycle safety and the benefits of wearing a helmet. Isara Founder, Patrick Kirk Gillock, will do the entire journey on a small motorcycle (moped), similar to those used by 80% of the Thai population. Nothing like this has ever been done before so the two week event will receive national news coverage and be promoted heavily within the provinces he'll visit. Those interested can track PK's progress via Isara's homepage starting November 6th. The "Helmets for Life" campaign will not only help raise awareness but also help raise money for future projects. Isara doesn't normally ask for donations but, if you're interested, here's how you or your office can help make a BIG difference (and receive a special reward) by sponsoring each kilometer: .01 cent/km = $25 .02 cents/km = $50 .03 cents/km = $75 .04 cents/km = $100 .05 cents/km = $125 .10 cents/km = $250 Each person or group that donates will have their name on a light blue ribbon and it will be tied on a village sign along the 2,500 km heart-shaped path. As always, 100% of every donation will go directly to helping the less fortunate. Donations can be made via PayPal.

Unfair trade
Have you guys seen that Two Fingers to Poverty video? It's the clip of Chris while in Ghana. Chris gives quite a bit of insight on how unfair trade hurts farmers and their families. It's really short, but definitely gets the point across. Anyway, here's a few petitions one can sign to help the cause and inform ourselves a bit! http://www.thepetitionsite.com/takeaction/619386565 http://www.thepetitionsite.com/takeaction/265059134 http://www.thepetitionsite.com/takeaction/732707055

how far does coldplay donate?
I don't know how much Coldplay donates.. but I know they have made ARoBttH and X&Y both CarbonNeutral after they realized that carbon dioxide is created in production.. and they've planted thousands of Mango trees in India, and supported forest preservation in Mexico and have made forest conservation projects in Ecuador, which have preserved tons of endangered/threatened species. As for amounts that they donate, I actually prefer not knowing. Sometimes that kind of thing is private and I'm sure there's people that will twist their efforts around and say they don't give enough, they do it for publicity or just for show.. and so on. It's much better when one just knows they give, and that's that.

Bono becomes "Blobbo"!!
Aw those titles are horrible! :laugh4: But despite the pic, Bono and the rest of the U2 boys must be in top shape to have the stamina and energy to still be working and touring. Kudos!

Hmm.. I'm not sure if it's still happening, I haven't heard from Rodan in a long while but I'll send him a message to see how the DVD he's organizing is shaping up. Here's the video if you're still curious  http://rapidshare.de/files/34771238/CCCTRAILER.wmv

Timberlake Turned Down By Chris Martin
Ah.. I guess that implies that he's going to produce for Jay-Z, but won't be singing? Boo.
-
Damien Rice
Wow.. I can barely believe he's back. I heard some djs talking about Damien on the radio earlier and I just couldn't believe it. 9 Crimes sounds amazing slowed down like that.. especially with both Lisa and Damien singing, I've only heard it with just Damien. Really beautiful.. can't wait for November. The album tracklisting looks great as well. It'll be nice to finally hear studio recordings of old favs like Me, My Yoke and I and Rootless Tree. Amazing.

check this ateaseweb.com thread
They're my biggest, most favorite band in the world and I love them to itty, bitty pieces.. but no, Coldplay are not the best by a long shot. Edited: Not the best, yet

I honestly did not write the above to start a huge discussion. It's just my lone opinion over something that I've noticed in a lot of big RH fanatics. You place RH vs literally any other band and RH will always be the best. That link you provided only proves what I've thought all along.

Similarities: They're English. Radiohead had a "Happier Fitter" and Coldplay came along with a "Bigger Stronger". I honestly believe that if Coldplay were an American band (or just not from the UK) and titled that song differently these comparisons wouldn't have started, much less taken off the way they have. That ATease website... I don't know. I could never be as big a fan of Radiohead as I would like to be because of their fans, as horrible as that sounds. I would hate to be grouped with those people that bag on a band because "they've gone mainstream". I hate it when people write something off as soon as it becomes popular and well accepted. Who cares if a band is famous.. it's what they do with the fame, you know? I don't like the way a lot of big Radiohead fanatics seem to look down on anything that isn't written by Thom Yorke.. kinda pretentious and elitist. I can't stand that.. but each to their own, I suppose.

Coldplay Split With Management

coldplay vs radiohead
I'm calmed.. I'm sorry if the above post sounds otherwise. I guess I don't quite understand where you guys are coming from. You'd like for them to stick to the style they were discovered for, but also do something completely different. To my logic is either one or the other, something has to change in order to be different. I personally would not hold such expectations for bands I love because it'll only disappoint you in the end. Coldplay can musically do as they please, I don't mind.. I think I'd only be upset and disappointed by them if they forget about the principles that makes them Coldplay (Like if they start advertising their music in commercials for profit or if one of them starts getting payed more than the others, or if Chris stops making manlove to Jonny.. etc ) in the first place. I don't think a band or an album has to be groundbreaking and all sorts of different to be considered great.
