Thoughts about 2014?
I don't expect anyone to read this, but I think it might benefit me to write a bit. The past 12 months have been... life altering. In October last year my mother died from acute leukemia 51 years of age. (I'm 21). She was hospitalized with what turned out to be Pneumonia but very soon it was discovered there was more. She died after just two weeks at the hospital - leukemia does that. I have three younger siblings - the youngest was 15 at the time. We all had to be stronger than it should ever be expected of anyone, including my dad. The days at the hospital still haunt all of us. Seeing our mom like that, trying to help her the best we could well knowing it wasn't enough. Sleeping over alone at the hospital and waking up in the middle of the night because she needed help. Receiving good news and bad news, never knowing what to think, yet there was always this sense that there was only one way out. Right now I'm listening to Here With Me by The Killers and it's almost a bit too much. After mom died a lot of things have happened. I was on a trip to Ghana. I moved away from the friends I lived with and back in with my family. Now I've moved into my own apartment. My family and I have come closer to each other and the rest of our family. In a way things are ok but I need them to be better. I need to not feel like I'm standing on the edge of destruction. I need a really close friend - someone who loves me and wants to share the deepest of their thoughts with me, and I'd do the same in return. I need to know there's hope for me and my family - including my mom. I hope the next 12 months will get me closer to that. [smoke is rising from the houses]

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
I'd love for LP7 to sound like Depeche Mode's Violator. Yeah... Doesn't have to be about drug abuse though. [smoke is rising from the houses]

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
I think MX is pretty good but they could do even better with what they learned on GS. I think they should take the stripped down sound from Magic/Midnight/Another's Arms/Oceans/O and make it BIGGER. Loud. Energetic. But not overproduced like MX. And it surely won't be actually called MX 2.0. The idea is that it'll be a followup. [smoke is rising from the houses]

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
Just to make myself clear: I don't think it will be celebratory, and I'm not concluding that based on the article, because clearly as you say there's no basis for that. It's just how I remembered the quote. :) What I do think though is that the interview leaves the MX 2 theory plausible, based on the 'completion of a story' quote, and the others I mentioned. Of course it's really just speculation. But I don't think it's impossible. I think it makes sense in many ways. And most importantly for me I'd really love to hear MX 2.0. LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
When I said "along those lines" I really did mean that. :P But I found out that I had it from the SirusXM interview. http://www.coldplaying.com/7th-coldplay-album-completion-of-story/ Two interesting quotes from that: "some other songs started to come through towards the end of it which felt like they wanted to become a bit bigger" - BIGGER! "life is short and you gotta grab it while you can" LP7 will be the “competition of some kind of story” - MX is a story right? Unlike any of the other albums. And this is the quote I was thinking about actually. And I think that phrasing fits even better with MX 2.0. "we are trying to do a thing on our next tour where by we are trying to think of ways of connecting people while they are coming to the concert" - this is really what MX was also about right. A feeling of togetherness. And as someone else mentioned: the new Xylobands which is really and MX thing. The more I think about it the more sense it makes. [smoke is rising from the houses]

Oh and one more thing. Chris said it would be a celebratory album, or something along those lines. [smoke is rising from the houses]

I'm actually kind of excited that it might be MX 2.0. :) [smoke is rising from the houses]

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
Totally with you on this. I've seen other people mention "Mylo Xylotwo" written somewhere. Haven't seen it myself but I think it's in the Live 2012 book? Other clues from the True Love vid (I've posted this elsewhere: Back to the Future reference (skateboard). Parachutes reference (sunset). The fact that you can hear just a tidbit of Midnight at the end. And the visual theme you already mentioned. It just doesn't fit with GS. I'll be very surprised if LP7 isn't MX 2.0. True Love is the next video? *Official video released*
A few things intrigue me about this video: the Parachutes reference (sunset), the Back to the Future reference (skateboard), the fact that you can hear just a split second of Midnight at the end, and the non-Ghost Stories graphical style of the multicolored stuff at the beginning and end. This seems very well in line with what Chris said about the next album being a celebratory album. [smoke is rising from the houses]

What is your favourite Coldplay song today?
This absolutely killed me. [smoke is rising from the houses]

Chris Martin featured in new U2 album?
I second this. It is without a second or shimmer of doubt our very own mr. Chris Martin providing oh-ohs and other ambience. Not just in the beginning and end where it's fairly prominent, but sprinkled over the rest of the song too. It's got Chris all over it. [smoke is rising from the houses]

Post piccies of the sexy Mr Berryman..
An indoor arena is probably a lot different from a place like the Royal Albert Hall though. Potentially RAH could have GREAT sound. I say potentially because their speaker system simply couldn't take the load Coldplay put on them. The sound was distorted and the high pitch notes extremely sharp on the ears. But look at a place like the Copenhagen Concert Hall which was built entirely with acoustics and sound quality in mind. I'd give anything to have Coldplay do an intimate gig there and not go nuts on the speaker system. [smoke is rising from the houses]

Agree. I've only seen them once: RAH on July 2nd. I was on one of the balconies and it was literally shaking everytime Guy flicked a finger. [smoke is rising from the houses]
