  1. Haha, that was one of my favorite songs when I was 12. I still kinda like Owl City but I've mostly moved on to other genres and artists... I haven't heard Fireflies in a long time so hearing it again just made me really nostalgic, too.
  2. You can still hear bits of that in his voice in recent years (listen to his falsetto in Midnight!), but I do think his voice was at its peak from about 2002 to 2006. He still has his awesome moments in certain songs, but his voice is definitely not as strong as it once was.
  3. My dad is 50 and though he isn't really a fan, he was nice enough to go with me to my only Coldplay concert and he did say he enjoyed it. :) And some people in the audience looked like they might be even older than my dad. So age is irrelevant when it comes to liking Coldplay. :) By the way, welcome to Coldplaying! :awesome:
  4. Thank you, @alisbe . :) I hope all is well with you in real life and I appreciate your kind words when you are able to pop in and say hello. :nice:
  5. Congratulations!!! It looks wonderful! :)
  6. The only reason I ever got to see them was 'cause my parents were generous enough to send me to Glastonbury as a graduation gift, and I don't think I deserved it at all because there are so many fans who don't have the luxury of getting to fly across the world to see their favorite band. It was just one of the precious gifts life has given me. Coldplay actually did come to my city, but I couldn't go to that concert because of university getting in the way. Just don't give up hope, ok? Just because they've never come to the Philippines doesn't mean they never will. :) And who knows, they've played in Japan and Singapore before, and there are many rumors about them playing in India, so could they eventually come to the Philippines? It's a real possibility. I really hope you get to see them someday!!! :)
  7. That is such a good idea! If I ever get a setlist from one of my favorite bands, I'm definitely framing it in a shadow box. I'd like to proudly display that thing because that's a big achievement for a hardcore fan!
  8. Happy birthday, Atlas!!! :)
  9. When you knock over all the bowling pins in one attempt, you get a strike. A strike is represented on the official score sheet by an X. X Marks The Spot! Lightbulb
  10. I feel like that photo resembles another picture of the band from the MX era too, but I can't quite remember which one... maybe I'm just having deja vu.
  11. Chris, Guy, Will, Jonny, and Phil have a kind of good chemistry that's about as strong as peanut butter and jelly. :D Sunglasses
  12. Ice cream cones hold ice cream. Ice cream can be a sweet treat... so Sweet Marianne, I guess? And in this world so cruel, ice cream can be so cool. Literally. ;) :awesome: Soup
  13. Parachutes (the song) mentions a stormy haze. In a storm it can get windy. When it's windy, a windmill can function. Pillow
  14. I think I remember bringing it back to life once before, over a year ago... then it looks like it died again. :( "And I could write it down" (Swallowed In The Sea) When you write something down, it's likely to be on a piece of paper. Lightning
  15. Hmm... when I look at the songs on an individual basis, I do think it would make a better album. However, that playlist doesn't really look like it would flow all that well from an emotional standpoint. I just can't see the joy and optimism of Amazing Day and HFTW being followed by a song like Ghost Story. I think it might work a bit better if we combine GS and AHFOD into one album in this way: Ghost Stories side: 1. Always In My Head 2. Ghost Story 3. Midnight 4. Oceans 5. A Sky Full Of Stars 6. Fly On (with hidden track O) A Head Full Of Dreams side: 7. Kaleidoscope 8. A Head Full Of Dreams (with The Great Dictator speech intro) 9. Birds 10. Everglow 11. Army Of One 12. Amazing Day 13. Up&Up
  16. I know they all sing parts of Fix You, Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall, Up&Up, and A Head Full Of Dreams. Maybe Everything's Not Lost, Paradise and Death And All His Friends as well, but I can't remember for sure. Jonny sings backing vocals in Politik and Daylight. Listen closely, especially to a live version of either song, and you can hear Jonny's deep voice during the verses. Guy harmonizes in the chorus of Low, but I can't remember any other specific songs.
  17. Happy birthday, Fix You!!! :loveshower: It's ok if you don't have too much at the moment. :) I hope you can track down the CDs that you want! I actually didn't bring any of my CDs to university with me, except for spare copies of X&Y, Radiohead's OK Computer, U2's The Joshua Tree, and Muse's Origin Of Symmetry. All of my music is on my computer, my phone, and my old iPod, so I figured I wouldn't really need to bring physical copies.
  18. Welcome to Coldplaying, Athena! I'm so happy to be a part of this community as well and I hope it continues to bring you joy during your time here. :)
  19. I never have, but they do have a contact form on their website if you ever want to send them a message. I think I'm going to do that. :) http://timeline.coldplay.com/contact/ Have you ever dreamt about someone you haven't seen in many years?
  20. I think it was about 70 minutes. It was basically the regular AHFOD tour set, minus Amazing Day and a few songs that they would normally play on the b-stage and c-stage.
  21. I'm so glad you had fun. :) I certainly remember feeling the same way at Glasto. It was euphoric! And my Xyloband glowed for about a day until it finally turned off. Oh good! :) Wow, I can't imagine what it would be like to see them twice in two different venues in such a short span of time... especially for free the second time!
  22. That's awesome! :D It was a joy to watch on the stream and it's certainly a show that I want to rewatch soon if somebody was kind enough to record it. How was the sound from where you were at?
  23. Up&Up Specifically, the live version from Coldplay's appearance at the Made In America Festival tonight. That was so wonderful, after Chris messed Up&Up the lyrics and had to start over.
  24. What a great show! The choice of songs was nothing spectacular... just a slightly abbreviated AHFOD tour setlist... but the band was on fire. :) I had a great time watching it and thank you to everyone here for watching it with me! I did get an unwanted spam phone call from somebody during Hymn For The Weekend. I must find them and give them a piece of my mind :P because nobody interrupts my Coldplay-watching without a very good reason for doing so!
