Song Request Discussion for North American Tour
Oh no! Us Against the World is my favorite song from MX so I feel your pain. :( I wonder why they scratched it from the setlist...

Random Coldplay thoughts...
Oh, I can totally relate as well. I've only seen them once but there were moments during that concert when I truly felt "drunk and high," without really being "drunk and high," you know? It was surreal. Of course I've had fun at other concerts, but no other artist has made me feel this way during a concert. It's a truly unforgettable feeling of joy and peace. :) That's why seeing Coldplay live is my drug of choice. ;)

Come back and sing to me...
Hi there! :) Welcome to Coldplaying, I hope you have a lot of fun here and trust me, most people here are diehard fans too so you are definitely not alone in that regard. :D

[2016-9-3.4] Coldplay to Headline Made In America Festival
Yeah with the usual attendance, you'd think it would be a high-profile event this year. But I've heard next to nothing about it since Coldplay's appearance was announced.

I don't know either! Daniel in the lion's den is a biblical reference, but I'm pretty sure Daniel isn't drunk in the story... :P They should just let fans like us do all the interviews for a change, just so they can answer burning questions like these.

[2016-9-3.4] Coldplay to Headline Made In America Festival
I completely forgot about this show! If it requires a Tidal subscription, would a Tidal listener here be so kind as to record the show for us? :) :) :) I for one would really appreciate it. I would do it, but I already used up my free trial earlier this year and I didn't think it was that great so I will not be purchasing a subscription...

A new elimination game!
Shiver One I Love is just too good to be eliminated this early!

Yes!!! You're especially lucky though because you actually got to see that show in person. :) Oh, and remember this post earlier? I suppose you're a part of that club as well, @coldplay luver , because you got to attend one of the GS Live 2014 tapings. :)

I'm watching the Rose Bowl show again right now, because why not? :) I'm on Magic right now and those Ghost Stories-themed visuals during Always In My Head and Magic are gorgeous. They bring back memories of first listening to Ghost Stories when iTunes made it available to stream as a "visual album."

Song Request Discussion for North American Tour
Has anyone noticed how many of the requesters politely end the video by saying "see you soon"? It must be a subliminal messaging tactic to get them to play See You Soon as well. ;) I could listen to Christmas Lights at any time of the year so I would not complain at all if they were to play it tomorrow.

That's one thing that we all need to do before we die. :D

Coldplay misunderstood lyrics
Sometimes I think that line sounds like "I'm drunken as a Daniel in a lion's den." That would make much more sense than a "drunken hazard Daniel." :D

Worst Coldplay Songs Ever!
Same here. ;) It has grown on me so much.

Beautiful! :dazzled: This will always be my favorite version of Moses. I wish I knew when and where it was recorded, but my best guess is that it was some time in 2002. Chris' voice is in top form and I honestly think that except for a small part earlier on when Jonny plays the wrong chords, it's even better than the version from Live 2003: Why oh why oh why oh why oh why oh why oh why oh why oh why oh why oh why oh why oh why oh why oh why oh why oh why oh why oh why did this masterpiece not get put on a proper album?

Coldplay misunderstood lyrics
I used to mishear this line: "I don't want to be a soldier Who the captain of some sinking ship Would stow, far below" I thought it was this: "I don't want to be a soldier Or the captain of some sinking ship Would go, far below"

That's awesome!!! Well, I guess I'm not the only one here whose first Coldplay concert was one of the "famous" ones. :awesome:

Share your favourite Coldplay live video
Back in 2011, Chris and Jonny played a special concert together at the St. John-at-Hackney Church in London, where the whole band also did a show for Radio 1 last year. The performance included this piano- and guitar-only version of Charlie Brown. It's so awesome!!! :awesome: I do miss Guy and Will, but this is such a beautiful version. :)

Coldplay Live 2016 DVD
In 2009, U2 did a show at the Rose Bowl and streamed it live on YouTube. Then, they used the broadcast footage as the basis for a live DVD. Could Coldplay be doing the same thing? Oh, and a live DVD/album doesn't necessarily need to include footage from one show. If you combine the film and album versions of Live 2012, they include footage from about 6 different shows, 3 of which were actually in 2011. ;) So an AHFOD tour DVD/album could be a compilation of multiple shows, which would give the band freedom to choose the individual performances that they like the most.

Random Coldplay thoughts...
I was watching football (of the American variety) with some other guys, including one who lives in the dorm right next to mine. Well that particular guy was talking on the phone to someone about random stuff, then all of a sudden I heard him say, "Honestly, Clocks and Viva La Vida are the best songs they ever made." :surprised: I brought up Coldplay in conversation a few minutes after he got off the phone and it turns out he likes some of their older music, up to and including VLVODAAHF. Just like my roommate, he isn't a huge fan, but he is familiar with more than just the hits.

You know what I tend to do when I'm really bored and have absolutely nothing to do? I basically listen to music without physically listening to it, much like you just said. I could mentally replay an entire Coldplay album right now if I wanted to, just because I've heard the songs so many times in real life.

Confessions of a Coldplayer
Hi everyone! I've noticed that a few other message boards have threads like this one so I figured I'd create once here as well. Ok, there's already a thread for this: https://coldplaying.com/forum/index.php?threads/confessions-thread-1-0.12094/page-73 but it hasn't been touched in 8 years. :P So mods, feel free to merge this thread with that one if you so desire, but for now I just want to start over. Anyways... the point of this thread is similar to the Don't Let It Break Your Heart! thread. This is a safe place for you to just let things off your chest, no matter how silly or trivial they may be. Just make sure they are safe to discuss according to the forum rules. So no NSFW posts here or anything of that sort, ok? ;) And be kind and respectful to others. :) My first confession is that I once ratted out a friend for doing something terrible and very illegal and got them in major trouble for it. I had the choice to be loyal to my friend but I knew it would be best for them to face the consequences of their actions.

What are your favorite Coldplay Covers?
Yes, I know this is a Rihanna song. And Coldplay's version sounds quite a bit like an acoustic version of ASFOS. But I like it so much more than the original. Coldplay covered Michael Jackson's Billie Jean more than once during the Viva era, and here's a good example of one of those performances. For a song that originally sounded nothing like Coldplay, they really did it justice. EDIT: Oh, and I'm very surprised that the article posted by @Christa42 did not include this:

Any Obsessed Stranger Things Fans Out There?
My friend is a bit obsessed with this show. :D I'm only slightly kidding. ;) I still haven't watched it but she really wants me to watch it with her so I think I will soon, haha!
