The Instrument Room

So last week my brother, my dad and I recorded our first song together. My brother is on bass, he is new to it(got it for xmas). My dad is playing on a small drum pad so it is hard for him to jam out. I'm the guitar player and the one you will hear talking. Just an original piece of music we wrote. No lyrics, all jams ;) . Hi guys! So I had created some sheet music for Paradise on Piano some time ago based off the original melody that Chris plays in the studio recording. This isn't a transcription or a cover. This is the real deal. Does anyone have any experience with this software? As some of you may know, I make a lot of piano covers (http://www.youtube.com/kc89). I've been using Garageband to just directly record what I'm playing, and add a few minor effects. I'd like to go further though, to make my recordings sound more professional, especially if I'm layering and such. Is getting Logic a step in the right direction? Easy to learn? Will it make a difference? Any help would be appreciated!

Hey there, I'm looking for some good but not expensive Small-diaphragm microphones. I want to use them for acoustic guitars or as drum overheads. I actually have no clue about diaphragm-mics and so I thought I'll ask here. Can anybody recommend some manufacters or models? I found the AKG C1000S, which seems to be a good choice but I'm not sure about this. Cheers, approx

Does anyone happen to have the MIDI track to 'Lost!'? The only one I can find online is the 'Lost?' (acoustic piano) MIDI, but I'm looking for one with all the instruments. Anyone? Cheers :D

Just heard this really cool cover of "A Message" from X&Y and I wanted to see what some other Coldplay fans think of it. My brother recorded and produced the entire track, with Logic Pro I believe. A Message was never one of my favorite tracks, but this version has given me something of a new appreciation for it, although it is a pretty different style. Does anybody know what the electric guitar chords are towards the end? Can't find them anywhere, they look unusual shapes but they sound beautiful!

I would greatly appreciate it if someone could help me out with getting the same or similar guitar sound like jonnys in the Moses live 2003 performance. I know this same question has been posted on the forum millions of times but no one seems to have a good enough answer. Ive tried figuring out the right amp EQ's and guitar pedal settings on my own almost everyday but its to difficult for me to figure out on my own.
