So I've bought myself a cd with a cd protection thing. Seems it won't let me rip the cd, or even listen to it in any other way other than thru some flash player. I have the right to make myself bloody mp3's, I've paid for the damn thing. Any suggestions how to rip it?

Britons using bargain music download website allofmp3.com have been warned that they are breaking the law. Record industry trade association the BPI said consumers were breaking UK copyright law because allofmp3.com was not licensed to sell recordings. The Russia-based site, which offers albums to download for as little as £1, claims to be licensed. The BPI said it planned to sue allofmp3.com in the UK courts but that users would not be prosecuted. Allofmp3.com is the second most popular download site in the UK, accounting for 14% of downloads, a survey has said. BPI spokesman Matt Phillips said: "There is no doubt it is totally illegal. Romeo, according to one 14-year-old sitting his Shakespeare test, drowned on the Titanic. Another teenager, asked to explain how Shakespeare handled the balcony scene in Romeo and Juliet, said: "They jump in the swimming pool." These are just some of the howlers made by secondary school pupils answering questions about Shakespeare in national curriculum tests for 14-year-olds. The first respondent had obviously confused Leonardo DiCaprio's starring roles in Romeo + Juliet and Titanic. The second pupil had taken the director Baz Luhrmann's modern film version - in which the balcony scene is set in a Los Angeles apartment block, complete with swimming - as gospel. An…

Nexus Points Emerge For Potential Summer Attack All indications suggest uncomfortable season of fear ahead Paul Joseph Watson/Prison Planet.com | June 6 2006 Numerous nexus points have emerged that suggest major western governments are preparing for a summer terror attack that will come close to but not match 9/11 in scale and will provide the justification needed for an air strike on Iran before the midterm elections in early November. While there is a danger of becoming the boy who cried wolf, disturbing trends over the last couple of months do strongly indicate that the twist in the tale, which is always to be expected in an election year, will be a staged at…

Roman Catholics in the Indian city of Mumbai (Bombay) have received Muslim support in protests against the release of the movie, The Da Vinci Code. Film censors have cleared the movie for release in India on 19 May. An umbrella organisation of Islamic clerics in Mumbai have labelled the film as "blasphemous" because it spreads "lies" about Jesus Christ. One Roman Catholic activist has gone on what he says is a "hunger strike until death" unless the film is banned. 'Violent protests' "The Holy Koran recognises Jesus as a prophet. What the book says is an insult to both Christians and Muslims," Maulana Mansoor Ali Khan, general secretary of the All-India S…

Canadian 'Terror Plot' Begins To Unravel Terrorists set up in sting operation, more on unfounded London raid Paul Joseph Watson/Prison Planet.com | June 6 2006 Just as predicted, the frightening plot to bomb high profile targets in Toronto and the arrest of 17 alleged terror suspects has all the hallmarks of yet another invented nightmare intended to scare western populations into quelling their descent of the empire. From a manufactured scheme to attack the Library Tower in LA to the British government's hoax Canary Wharf and Ricin terror conspiracies - every major alert or mass arrest since 9/11 has proven to be a fraudulent movie script with no basis in reali…

Framing Patsies in Toronto and London Kurt Nimmo | June 6 2006 Not only did the “terrorists” in Canada not have a target for their so-called fertilizer bomb, the fertilizer was delivered by the RCMP as part of a sting operation (i.e., the suspects were framed), according to the Toronto Star. “Sources say investigators who had learned of the group’s alleged plan to build a bomb were controlling the sale and transport of the massive amount of fertilizer, a key component in creating explosives. Once the deal was done, the RCMP-led anti-terrorism task force moved in for the arrests…. At a news conference yesterday morning, the RCMP displayed a sample of ammonium nitrate…

Drink-drug diet of girls who skip meals to stay thin Last year, one in five 14 to 15-year-old girls admitted to drinking one or more spirit measures in the previous week The unhealthy lifestyles of teenage girls who routinely skip meals, take drugs and drink and smoke too much have been exposed by an alarming new survey. They are missing breakfast to lose weight while increasingly knocking back large quantities of spirits and experimenting with drugs such as cannabis. The findings will horrify parents and worry health campaigners who fear these 'ladettes' are storing up serious problems for the future. Excessive slimming can pave the way for eating disorder…

'Parents responsible for underage drinking' Almost half of underage drinkers get their alcohol from their parents, Home Office figures have revealed. The survey asked children who had drunk in the previous year where they obtained their alcohol, and 48 per cent said from parents, 29 per cent from friends and 22 per cent from pubs or bars. In all, 62 per cent of underage drinkers said their parents knew they drank alcohol regularly. A third of 10 to 17s had been to a pub or bar without their parents and a quarter had been to a nightclub. couple cut short their holiday after their teenage son telephoned to say he had blown up their house. Sean Davey, 18, of Caister-on-Sea, Norfolk, left a basket of laundry on top of the electric cooker and did not notice the hob had been switched on. Structural work to the building is estimated at £20,000, with £15,000 more to repair fire and smoke damage inside. Sean's mother Joanne Bray and her husband Paul cut short their holiday in Scotland when they heard about the fire on Sunday evening. Son forgiven Ms Bray said: "It's not mentionable…

UK Prime Minister Tony Blair and US President George W Bush have made a stark public acknowledgement that they made mistakes in Iraq. Mr Bush said the biggest US error was the prison abuse scandal in Abu Ghraib, which it was now paying for. The two leaders have never admitted their mistakes in such frank terms, the BBC's Jonathan Beale says. They also called for the international community to give its full support to the new Iraqi government. In a Washington news conference, the British prime minister said it was important to Iraq's leaders to know that "we will stand firm with them" against "terrorism and violence". The talks in Washington also focused …

Wayne's been had - blame it on Rio Wayne is conned into aiding the vet with fiancee Coleen's help It's not often Wayne Rooney is outfoxed by a defender. But our pictures show the moment he was well and truly fooled by his teammate Rio Ferdinand - with a little help from his fiancee Coleen McLoughlin. Headmaster seizes TVs and computer games from pupils' homes Teachers are always saying pupils would do better in their schoolwork if they spent less time playing computer games and watching television. Now, one headmaster has proved it - by going to the homes of errant pupils and confiscating their electronic equipment. And results have shot up at New Woodlands School in Bromley, Kent, since Duncan Harper introduced the 'seizure' policy. 'If a child is coming in tired, lethargic and grumpy we often find that it's because they've been watching television or playing games until God knows what hour,' Mr Harper said last night. 'So we go round and take the equipment …

England coach Sven-Goran Eriksson has confirmed that standby striker Jermain Defoe will fly out with the England squad to Germany on Monday. Eriksson has maintained his belief that Wayne Rooney will play at the World Cup, but the injured forward is waiting on the outcome of a scan on Wednesday. "Defoe goes with us to Germany because we have to be insured about Wayne Rooney," Eriksson said. Defoe was preferred to Everton forward Andy Johnson for a place on the plane. Eriksson added: "Obviously, everybody thinks he will come back from Manchester on Wednesday evening and that's what I think. "I have no doubts about it - but I can't be sure, of course, until…

Ikea is cutting the cost of its reusable bags to 25p Ikea is to become the UK's first major retailer to charge its customers for plastic bags, in an effort to tackle waste and environmental damage. The Swedish firm will charge shoppers 5p for every bag with immediate effect, rising to 10p in September. It believes the move - accompanied by a switch to biodegradable bags and lower prices for reusable bags - will cut total bag use by 20 million next year. The Environment Agency praised the move as a "great example" to other firms. Anger as MPs grab free World Cup McTickets MPs have been given free World Cup tickets by fast-food giant McDonald's - to the fury of ordinary fans who face being locked out of England's matches. The politicians asked the company for seats to watch England's opening game against Paraguay on Saturday - the tickets they and their Commons researchers received now command more than £1,000 each on the black market. The Parliamentary Football Club, whose members include Health Minister Andy Burnham and Pensions Minister James Purnell, secured the coveted tickets after approaching McDonald's, despite its role in the long-running storm over healthy eating.
