Yes (Chinese Sleep Chant)

Yes (Chinese Sleep Chant) - discussion

So I was over at songmeanings, and read what someone wrote saying how Yes could possibly be about Chris's realiionship and his temptation to cheat. The individual said they were actually shocked to hear Chris even doing the song because to them it's obviously about like pervaricating over cheating or what not. Especially wiht such a high profile marriage, etc. I've always thought the song was about wanting someone, but having it kind of forbidden. Now when I read that. It really makes sense. Like "When it started we had high hopes; now my back's on the line, my back's on the ropes... When it started we were alright, but night makes a fool of us in da…

Methinks the violin in Yes is one the most surprising things I've ever heard in a song for a very long time. How about you? What d'you think of it? How ingenious and pleasant is it??

  4. I might have to take Chinese Sleep Chant off my iPod. Although at first I hated it, now it has grown on me, and perhaps a little too much. The riff is so absolutley intoxicating, everytime I listen to it I can't get it out of my head. And I mean to a scary point, I can't listen to people, I can't focus, ironically, it even causes me to lose sleep. Does anyone else have this problem, or am I just a little loopy?:freak:

Is it just me, or is there a weird little noise at the end of Yes? A female/childlike voice saying "Hmhmm". http://www.sendspace.com/file/ie0acr If so, what is it?! Not an incredibly important thread but I'm confused and wondering if it's just my CD!

Does anyone else notice that Yes sounds ALOT like Chris Martin's song Bucket for a Crown? The chord progression sounds like it as well as the way Chris sings, and there is also a violin part in the song... just thought I'd point it out

I'm wondering why Chris's lead vocal in CSC is buried in the mix . Live it sounded much better on the Kimmel show.

  14. Upon completion of listening to this track, I couldnt help but notice that it sounds like a missing Middle Eastern Iron & Wine track. What with all the slide guitar moments and twangs it seems something out of "The Shepherd's Dog" dunked in a pool of Middle Eastern sexyness. BTW any one with a good version of Yes (or Chinese Sleep Chant) please pm me. I have a shoddy version.

Hello, Pardon me if this is a stupid question but has the new song "Yes" been out for a while? My friend claimed to hear on the radio but I did not believe her as I thought I have been keeping up with the album news, and was sure it wasn't out yet. Now I just got an e-mail from that same friend with a file attached saying it's "Yes", and it's a song I haven't heard before. It could be a b-side or something, but I am positive I have all Coldplays songs that exist. LOL. Your knowledge is greatly appreciated. - David
