i love that song 'sing' so much especially when Fran sings it.

during when he sings the lines in the song "nothing, nothing, nothing' that's

really beautiful such a good singer.

well all my favorite songs in the setlist.

dont worry you ask Fran next time for autograph!:)

Gitta Rensolo, was that the Rock AM Ring concert you went to? I've just seen a video clip of Writing to Reach you from there, looked awesome :)

Guy on the official Travis forum is going to upload video of the full show as it was streamed live online. Be awesome to get, and especially if you were there.

Yeah, she went to "Rock am Ring" festival yesterday and I'm still jealous about it!

Julia also found a link to a chat with Travis where they announced that they will be coming to Germany in autumn! It's interesting to read and in English...

Yeah.,...I've just seen that there was a live stream and I even was at home when it was shown (because it actually was not live...) so I missed it...but thanks for the info...I'll check it out immediately...yayyyyy..:D

heheh Lars no problem...;)

btw...I'm afraid I'm in that video because the camera was right in front of me...:uhoh:

I'll post the links to the Travis forum, see the download thread.

Thank you, invisibleman18! :)

Julia, I envy you sooooo much. Seriously. :D

They played Sing and All I Want To Do Is Rock. Love these songs!

What are other bands that you saw in the festival?

Ren, you are very very very lucky!!! :stunned:

And because of you, I was thinking about sending Fran a PM too asking him and the band to come to my country.

He probably would reply saying they would come here next month. *daydreaming* lol

i think that this is perfect!:)

hehe...know what I find a bit funny?Last week I didin't even know that I was going to see them on sunday....so it came a bit unexpected and I couldn't even prepare for this...I didn't even expect it to be that great...I just thought " yeah they'll play many new songs , so I will only know a few songs they play and that's it...."...but then everything was great...although I didn't even know every song...I didn't expect that because I saw Naximo Park before and their new songs didn't catch me as much as Travis' new songs,....even my friends said that and one of them didn't know Travis,...and she looooved it, too:D

so, I saw Maximo Park and Good Charlotte (craaaaaaaaaaaaap) and heard The Kooks..

I haven't been there all 3 days..;)

whaaaaaaaaaaaa...I want to have one those jaffa cakes, music, art tees...or the selfish jean one...

What a beautiful surprise then! :nice:

So you actually didn't know a lot of their songs? Well.. I guess now you should listen to all their albums and join the Travis lovers club here. lol

The Kooks? I'd love to see them live too. :)

Well.....I was a fan before...because Travis was the first normal band I'd listened to...they made me get into Coldplay and all that stuff....;)

but for some reason i only own two albums...probably because I was really disappointed by "12 memories"..:\

so, I've just watched the video of the gig.....and awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww...it's great...they even didn't cut out Fran's jokes....hehe....

and I'm glad I'm not in it...:P

Lol, whereabouts were you standing? Far from the front? Did you get any pics?

well,<according to the size of the festival and the fact that I arrived only 10 minutes before it started in front of the stage, I was standing relatively near to the stage...I saw everything..I was standing right behind the second "fence" in the 2nd row...so the camera was right in front of me....hehe...unfortunately I didn't take any pics becuase I didn't have a camera with me...I didn't even expect that I was going to see Travis that day because I thought all my friends want to see the top-act of the whole festival which was playing at the main stage at the same time...;)

i think that this is perfect!:)

Aw so young! :D

^they really have greatly choreographed vids...fantastic!!!

i really like that writing to reach you, sing ones a lot..

Yea I've realised too that their video really rock:cool:

Just like the new one for "selfish jean" (I want to have that shirt...)

^^ You made me feel so curious about this shirt, Julia. :D

Where can I see a pic of it?

And if you like it so much, why don't you just buy it? ;)

@ Pallavi : You're right. The video is awesome.

You can buy it here...either the 3rd one or the 5th one...;)

http://www.recordstore.co.uk/travis/

I'd love to buy it but:

1.) I don't have much money currently

2.) I don't have a credit card

but, if I'll have a job in the next weeks I'll think about it again and maybe buy it...because my uncle has a credit card,...

The Boy With No Name

Travis_070607114239946_wideweb__300x300.jpg

No one would have been surprised if Travis had drifted away by now. The Glaswegians, with Coldplay, had broken through in that fallow late-'90s period when Radiohead and Oasis, in their own ways, abdicated the high ground of British rock. Travis had sweet songs such as Driftwood and Why Does It Always Rain On Me? and played lovely shows but never really gripped the brain and soul. Their rocked-up fourth album was a miscalculation - and that seemed to be that.

The Boy With No Name returns to first principles for Travis: gentle songs with guitars more chiming than clanging; unfussy, open-hearted lyrics; melodies that settle on you slowly rather than grabbing you by the throat; and that crucial extra weapon in their armoury, charm.

You find yourself liking them as much as the songs - and that is an often underestimated part of any mainstream band's appeal.

I'm gonna go to the Orlando show! I haven't bought my ticket yet cause I'm low on cash, but it shouldn't sell out, so I'll buy it when I have enough money. I'm excited, but I'm probably going by myself:\
