Doctor Who ???......

Featured Replies

It was just a really bad storyline, the fish in the sky thing and the Scrouge tale, we all know it, I don't need to see an episode of Dr Who with that theme.

I honestly can say I think that was the worst episode of Dr Who I've ever seen.

Well it definitely wasn't a classic. Having Katherine Jenkins in it was very cheesy too.:dozey:

Well I think it was a nice, light episode to be seen around Christmas time, nothing too super special or complicated or sad. I let the main episodes deal with that. Other Christmas specials weren't particularly memorable either.

As for Katherine, I don't know who she is but I liked her character and her voice.

I feel sorry for you. :(

Although on the bright side I suppose, you can definitely legitimately deny being a geek.

Oh I quite like the series in general, just not that episode:).

Ok, but what I mean is, a geek would get it. The purely geeky reaction is something like:

"oh my goodness, it had a planet with flying sharks!! And there was an ice maiden! And he decided to literally be the ghost of Christmas past by actually changing the past, not showing it- why didn't anyone think of doing that before! This is so cool!!!"

It was written for the Calivin and Hobbes sort of geeks who go 'that had dinosaurs. Dinosaurs with laser beams coming out of their eyes. How could it not be awesome?' Some people get it an some people don't. Doesn't mean it was a bad episode, just means it wasn't for everyone.

I still think my favourite Dr Who episode was Doomsday, the Dalek-Cyberman stand off/bitch fest was brilliant:laugh3:.

Karen Gillan has a Steve McQueen moment fleeing the Nazis on the set of Doctor Who

Ever since the preview trailer for the new season of Doctor Who, featuring a glimpse of some Nazi soldiers, was released speculation has been rife over the next adventure.

And with the season premiere just weeks away, fans of the sci-fi series don't have long to wait.

But if that's not soon enough, we have a sneak peek at Karen Gillan, 23, shooting on location at the Temple Of Peace in Cardiff - and it appears as though she may be emulating Steve McQueen in iconic World War II film The Great Escape.

Perched on an old-fashioned motorbike, Karen, in character as the Doctor's assistant Amy Pond, prepared to film scenes outside the building.

Amateur footage posted on a Doctor Who fan site reveals that dozens of half-naked prisoners run screaming from the Temple Of Peace building - a regular filming location for the BBC series - as Amy sits on the bike outside.

According to enthusiasts on the fan site who flocked to watch filming in Cardiff, a scene was filmed where the Tardis crashed through a wall in Hitler's office.

In another scene, Karen and Arthur Darvill, who plays Amy's husband Rory, are seen giving a German soldier the Nazi salute.

Crates displaying the Reichsadler were also strewn about the set.

Steve McQueen's motorbike scene in The Great Escape is one of cinema's most iconic moments.

The 1963 film centred on prisoners of war from the Allied forces, played by McQueen, James Garner and Richard Attenborough, who attempt to escape from a camp during the Second World War.

It is unknown if Karen will attempt the ill-fated stunt from the film and try to jump a fence on the bike.

Her denim mini skirt isn't the most appropriate of riding wear.

The next season of Doctor Who will premiere on April 23.

"She was funny and cheeky and clever and just simply wonderful. The universe was lucky to have Sarah Jane Smith, the world was lucky to have Lis” -Russell T Davies

I don't see how anyone could watch her and not completely love her. All those years of monsters, and the worst monster of them all got her in the end. :bigcry:

Shocking and sad news to hear.

Rest in peace.

Its very sad ! Long live Sarah Jane
