April 24, 200620 yr when U2 came to chile, bono went to the governement's palace.. and a fan of U2 made this.. it's bono and the president of chile, well the ex president... for a second I was like at 1,5 mt of Bono.. but I wasn't to fast to take the pic.. he was in a car... and I just took a pin of the car who was behind the bono's car
April 26, 200620 yr that was cool because bono arrived to the place at 12 and I was there like at 9 and there's no people... and well... when bono arrived there was a lot of people but I was in the perfect place ... just a policeman between my and bono :(
April 26, 200620 yr The police are asswipes, aren't they? Grrrrrr!!!! Back in December, in Boston, I waited outside the back entrance with like 30 other people for four frickin' hours. It started to snow really heavy and get dark... The temp dropped to probably 15 degrees, not counting the wind chill... :stunned: They started putting baracades up, which I knew meant that the guys weren't going to be gracing us with their physical appearance, the cars were just going to drive by...... Well, two cops came out, one in full winter attire, and the other with just his little short sleeved cop shirt on. And he was drinking steaming hot coffee. Which he then proceeded to spill on himself and put in the snow to "cool it down". Everybody was yelling at him like "HEY. I'VE BEEN HERE FIVE HOURS. GIVE ME THAT." I called him "Little Napolean" because he looked so self important but he was this tiny little guy... LMFAO! It was so much fun. Needless to say, the guys didn't come out, but the SUV with Bono in it slowed right down until it was RIGHT next to me (and I mean literally 4 inches away, I was right against the baracade) and guess who pokes his head out the window? Bono. WITHOUT his shades, I might add! Right there, 5 inches from me! And he smiled right at me and was all "Sorry guys, we're really late for sound check because of the weather, really really sorry!" and he smiled at me again (seriously, eye contact happened, probably because I looked like I was going to die) and we all wished him good luck with the show, he said he'd see us soon (what a sweetie :nice: ) and away they drove. Ahahaha. What a bust. My poor dad was with me the whole time, freezing his arse off.... But I wasn't disapointed at all. Getting Bono to look at you, TWICE??? Accomplishment!
April 26, 200620 yr Well it's always a gamble, but I always suggest to everyone who's going to a U2 show to find the back entrance to the arena and hang out around there. No matter how many people there are (and USUALLY no matter what the weather is) they'll turn up somehow. Blah, they really WERE late for soundcheck with us though. It was 6:15pm and they were just showing up!!!! Hmph. Bono probably lost his cowboy hat or something LMFAO! And to get eye contact, just look like you're going to pass out at any second. Or get right on the rail with GA and shriek at the top of your lungs when he's right in front of you. Of course, it has the risk of coming across as a complete idiot while doing it.... but worth it!
April 26, 200620 yr The problem is...maybe it's easier to stand at the back entrance in USA arenas..but it's almost impossible here in stadiums at least if you want to be on the front rows in the GA. I had to sleep outside and some people were able to see them just waiting for them outside the hotel the day after ;)
April 26, 200620 yr Well the great thing with the Garden in Boston is they numbered everyone in line, so you didn't have to stay outside all day, you could leave, blah blah. As long as you were back in line by 5:30, by NUMBER (you get kicked to the very very back if you cut! omg someone cut me and I didn't notice in October, and luckily someone else did and saved my life :nice: ). So a lot of the GA-ers just get numbers, go get breakfast, get lunch, then stand outside.... LMFAO! At least that's what I did.
April 26, 200620 yr I wish I had GA tix but I'm happy with what I got. I wish it wasn't raining the whole time i was in Boston though.
April 26, 200620 yr here the people had to wait more than 24 hours to the show..they had to even sleep in the stadium
April 26, 200620 yr Now that's something I could never do. I've got a strong chance of ending up going to school and living in New York City after next year, which means that's where I'll be for their next tour... (Yes. I am already making plans.) And apparently at MSG there's no numbered wristband thing... blah. That's not gonna be fun. Oh well!
April 26, 200620 yr I'm not sure if I can do that... and... U2 have been 2 times here.. in 1998 ans in february of this year.. so , I guess I'll have to wait a looooot to back to see them live :(
April 26, 200620 yr :( Urgh, I wish they'd make it to your part of the world more... It's seriously not fair how they're always here in the US and in Europe..... And even then, only certain parts of Europe... As much as I'd like to keep them forever, I want everyone else in the whole world to see them too! Next tour, if they aren't coming around (or haven't announced it yet) and I "run into" Bono or one of the guys on show day, I'll tell them they better or... They'll have to take me on tour with them!
April 27, 200620 yr here the people had to wait more than 24 hours to the show..they had to even sleep in the stadium You're not alone...we did the same, and that's what it takes if you wanto to be in front rows :) (at least in some European countries like Italy and Spain)..or even just to get the tickets
April 29, 200620 yr I'm listening the mp3's from the 02.26.2006 santiago concert.. I was there.. and it feels so great to listen it again (even the quality isn't the best)
April 30, 200620 yr Ahhhh who cares about the quality, it'a always amazing if you can find the bootleg of the concert you've been to  ...I've just watched the DVD of first Milan concert, and OMG I miss them soooooooooooooo much :bigcry: :bigcry:
May 3, 200620 yr Ahhhh who cares about the quality' date=' it'a always amazing if you can find the bootleg of the concert you've been to  ...I've just watched the DVD of first Milan concert, and OMG I miss them soooooooooooooo much :bigcry: :bigcry:[/quote'] we have no video or dvd of the gig.... it's sad because I watched concerts from argentina and brazil and the santiago concert was so much better than that shows... it was so magical, with all the people singing so much... and the guys were so great.. with the edge playing the charango and a lot of special moments... and we have a campaign to make our own dvd because there's no official stuff and the chilean tv didn't have it :(
May 3, 200620 yr whats all this about the imax movie....its 3d? Apparently U2 filmed one of their Mexico shows using 3-D technology, cameras, the whole nine yards. We'll probably hear about it in a couple of years, but whoa... that would be AMAZING! Like going to a show all over again!!!!!!!!!!!:shocked2:
May 3, 200620 yr the argentina one.. i'm sure of that.... (I wish they could filmed the chile concert :()
