March 30, 201016 yr ^^ damn right. they've also announced that they will use the festival to play most of their new album. so im tipping a release date some time in september. that will be awesome
March 30, 201016 yr So they're headlining the second day of Reading and the first day of Leeds...They're headlining Rock en Seine in Paris as well (on the 29th, I suppose). :nice: Werchter sold out. :bigcry: New promo art:
March 31, 201016 yr how many people are there actually in Arcade Fire? there are 6 in that picture. there are 7 names in the neon bible liner notes. there are 8 names on the front page of their website. they perform on stage with 10 people.
March 31, 201016 yr Yes, at the live shows I've been to there were 10 people on the stage. They had an extra violinist and two guys playing trumpetlike instruments. All the band members sing and circulate instruments (except for the violinist, I think), the extras don't. Apparently the violinist isn't in the picture.
April 4, 201016 yr I have lots. Demo 2001 Christmas album 2002 18 b-sides (there are actually more than 18 :wacky:) BBC live lounge (just one cover song though) Funeral b-sides (four songs) Cold Winds, Six Feet Under song Tour Split 7" (two songs) And some covers etc. Live recordings: Minneapolis 2005 Glasto 2007 White sessions 2005 So yeah, take your pick. xD The easiest way would be to make a torrent because mediafire hates me, but I could (try to) upload some songs (not everything because it won't fit) on mediafire. I guess the 18 b-sides compilation is the best, but I had to re-download it last year because I lost my original files, so I haven't checked yet if the new ones are the same/any good. Also, check file sharing programs like soulseek, lots of good stuff there. I think there are also some d/ls in the AF file sharing thread.
April 5, 201016 yr ive tried a few torrents but they never work. and had no luck with rapidshare, mediafire etc links. i saw it once on tv and regret not recording it. it is a truly magnificent performance.
April 6, 201016 yr Here.[/url] :wacky: thanks alot for that. it is undoubtedly the best non-headlining performance in glasto history. more incredible is the fact that they played the Other stage not the pyramid stage.
April 6, 201016 yr ^^ You're welcome. i just assumed that they were the headline performance. that's why i was wondering why it's still kind of early for the start of their show. now i know why. :laugh3::laugh3:
April 6, 201016 yr yeah i just had a look at the line up for 2007 and they played the Other Stage on friday night at around 9-30PM just before Bjork who was the final act on that stage. not sure when they'll return to glasto. dont really see it happening this year as they've already signed up to reading and leeds and its very rare for a band to do both. and then next year is a gap year for glasto. so if they are still on the road in 2012 they might do that glasto (which is the year i plan to go to glasto!!)
April 7, 201016 yr Arcade Fire??? Im listening to some of the previews on itunes.....and man its really drawing me in, so should i get it plz tell me why :D
April 7, 201016 yr Plz tell me why you can't read and see we have an arcade fire thread THREE FRIGGIN THREADS BELOW THIS ONE? Get some eyes.
April 7, 201016 yr Plz tell me why you can't read and see we have an arcade fire thread THREE FRIGGIN THREADS BELOW THIS ONE? Get some eyes. thank you for you thoughtful input :D
April 7, 201016 yr No. Everyone hates them. Funeral is the worst-reviewed album of all time. Go listen to Justin Bieber instead. ... In case I failed in conveying that effectively, that was sarcasm. Seriously, buy both of their albums now so I don't have to blindfold you, tie you to a chair, gag your mouth, and lock you in the basement while you listen to them. The former is less painful, but it's your choice. If you like what you hear from 30-second previews, you're in for a treat.
