Arcade Fire

I'm so ridiculously excited about this, it will be a small miracle if they don't disappoint (of which I'm sure they won't).

And yes, I am ridiculously excited about new material. So excited haha

Yep. I discovered them thanks to Chris mentioning them in X&Y era interviews as an influence (or notably in Toronto 2006 "God gave you style and led you higher/God gave you the music of the Arcade

Yeah I got into Coldplay first and then slowly started getting into Arcade Fire. Once I started to realize their similarities and that Coldplay toured with them during the LVL era, it made me become a

Yeah, I followed a path similar to yours. I am a big fan of VLV and MX (the "midplay" era, ahah) and when I discovered that Coldplay mentioned several times AF as an influence during that period, I st

I think AF is good, and the band is coming to Finland (first time!) on July.

But the tickets are so expencive (50€) and I'm so busy in summer so I can't go :(

:bomb:

Gonna make a record in the month of May? Interesting. :wacky: The previews sound promising! :nice:

I was so pissed when I heard they're coming to finland next month and I'm not here then :/ it still pisses me off. one of the bands I've always really wanted to experience live

According to Australian radio station Triple J, the song will see a proper release "around 1 June", with the end of July as a "tentative [album] release date".Triple J claims that Nick Launay, who mixed Neon Bible, is producing, while engineer Markus Dravs and arranger/violinist Owen Pallett have both confirmed their involvement. More tantalisingly, the radio station claims Arcade Fire recorded and mixed about 38 songs for the record – raising the prospect of a double-album.

The two new songs sound pretty good from what I've heard. :surprised:

^^ That sounds about right. According to Amazon the release date for Suburbs/Month of May is May 31st.

I don't like the idea of a double album, to be honest. Often they are too long to hold my attention (case point: Joanna Newsom), but who knows.. :\

Edit: the single is on Rough Trade as well, apparently super limited. http://www.roughtrade.com/site/shop_detail.lasso?search_type=sku&sku=327190

I really hope its not a double album too. Single discs are usually the way to go. I'd rather have two seperate releases like a year apart.

That spin your own record preview thing is fun. You can make it make so man weird noises going slowly backwards. :D

^So Briggins, what do you think are the chances of them actually bothering to make it to the east coast at some point this time round?

yeah, i hope they do that too

kid a/amnesiac is the perfect example of this

I hope it will be a proper flowing album, no singles as such.

All I want is a perfect album. :P

If anyone can do it, it would be arcade fire.

not yet. but new single is out in the next two weeks. and there are claims we will have the full record by the end of july. it sounds reasonable.

New single has been found in Glascow record shop. Waiting for a leak.
