Yep. I discovered them thanks to Chris mentioning them in X&Y era interviews as an influence (or notably in Toronto 2006 "God gave you style and led you higher/God gave you the music of the Arcade

Yeah I got into Coldplay first and then slowly started getting into Arcade Fire. Once I started to realize their similarities and that Coldplay toured with them during the LVL era, it made me become a

Yeah, I followed a path similar to yours. I am a big fan of VLV and MX (the "midplay" era, ahah) and when I discovered that Coldplay mentioned several times AF as an influence during that period, I st

eheh... cool pic!!! ;)

More news seems to be seeping through daily! Now it appears there is every chance the album could be released early next year & a tour could be set for summer.

I can't contain my excitement!!! :)

Best band ever!

So excited. Wonder what the new album will be like? I'm thinking not as dark as Neon Bible. Musically I reckon they're gonna have found their true sound. I have a feeling it's gonna be colossal !!!

No matter what happens, this album will have huge expectations from the music masses.

i'm worried that anything less than an Ok-Computer-esque-effort-no.3 will be seen as a failure.

I know what you mean. My friend & I were just saying the other day how much we WANT it to be amazing. Really want it to please both the critics & the people (ala Funeral). Neon Bible kinda divided people. I wasn't convinced at first, but I must say I love that album now.

this is the first arcade fire album i'm anticipating as a relatively new fan. cant friggen wait!!!!

Same here! I can't wait until they announce tour dates for that album. I will definitely buy a ticket if they're play around here!

I love Neon Bible just as much as Funeral.

And Neon Bible has No Cars Go...need I say more?

I have Wake Up on replay. I love that song right now!

For me, "Neighbourhood 1 (Tunnels)" is their masterpiece. That tune does something to me that I can't describe. It's achingly beautiful & powerful..... fragile & raw all at the same time.

Arcade Fire Recording New Songs in New York

11/10/2009 By Josh O’Kane

Arcade Fire multi-instrumentalist Richard Reed Parry has revealed that the much-loved Montreal outfit are currently in New York City recording strings of new songs, presumably for Arcade Fire’s Neon Bible follow-up.

In an interview with The Quietus earlier this week, Parry was meant to focus on his side-project Bell Orchestre, but the musician let it slip early in the interview that the reason he was in New York was to do “some recording in a studio — Arcade Fire stuff.”

He did not say the new songs were specifically for an Arcade Fire album, though earlier this year front-man Win Butler told NME that the band had been writing material for a follow-up to 2007’s Neon Bible. Despite those developments, Parry said there were no plans for a release date for the new material and there are no plans to tour “for the foreseeable future.”

Bell Orchestre’s sophomore album As Seen Through Windows was released earlier this year. And while Butler remains the lead songwriter for Arcade Fire, Parry said that all members of the band contribute to the songwriting process. In Bell Orchestre, however, he described himself as the “de facto musical director.”

He went on to say Arcade Fire has turned into a “day job” for him but that “there are loads of other musical things that I’m involved in that are part of the tapestry of my artistic life.”

It is nice to hear some news. Although it doesn't really offer us any form of timeline as to when we'll see LP3. But better than no news!

Just the articles that have been posted here...with the most recent news coming earlier this week.
