Madonna will be dancing and singing across the stages of the world this spring and summer, it was announced today. The Confessions Tour with concerts across major US cities, Canada, Europe and Japan will begin in Los Angeles on May 21st. Confessions tour dates were officially confirmed by Madonna managers Angela Becker and Guy Oseary, along with Arthur Fogel, President of The Next Adventure (a Live Nation Company), the tours worldwide promoter.

Tour stops in North America for the Confessions Tour will include arenas in Chicago, Boston, San Jose, Phoenix, Fresno, Las Vegas, Philadelphia, Atlantic City, Miami, Montreal and New York. Overseas appearances will take place in arenas, stadiums and outdoor venues in Paris, France; Amsterdam, The Netherlands; Cardiff, Wales; Rome, Italy; Dusseldorf and Hannover Germany; Horsens, Denmark; Osaka and Tokyo Japan.

The Confessions Tour will be directed by longtime Madonna collaborator Jamie King with Stuart Price once again on board as Musical Director. Arianne Phillips and Jean Paul Gaultier, long standing members of Madonna's creative team, will respectively oversee and design costumes for the tour.

Madonna's previous tour, the 2004 Re-Invention Tour was the most successful tour of that year, according to Billboard Magazine.

The Warner Bros. Records mega star, whose current CD Confessions on a Dance Floor debuted at No.1 in 29 countries, has already begun rehearsals in Los Angeles with her talented troupe of musicians and dancers. With a staggering 35 No. 1 hits on Billboard dance charts during the course of her unparalleled career, it's no surprise that Madonna issued the following mission statement regarding the Confessions Tour: I'm going to turn the world into one big dance floor, exhorted the Material Girl.

Madonna: 'I want to be like Gandhi'

MadgeGhandiSplit_228x673.jpgMadonna: Wants a place alongside Ghandi (below)

Madonna says she is not content to be the Queen of Pop - she wants to be like Gandhi.

The singer adds peace campaigners John Lennon and Martin Luther King to a roll call of individuals she emulates.

Madonna wins Elle Style Icon Award

Madonna, 48, said: "For me the best thing in the world is to see something or hear something and go 'damn, I wish I did that, damn, I wish I could do that. That's inspiring'."

She told Sirius Radio in the U.S.: "I want to be like Gandhi, and Martin Luther King, and John Lennon... but I want to stay alive."

The Material Girl defended her controversial crucifixion scene in last year's Confessions tour, saying: "We all need to be Jesus."

She said of the show, which featured video messages of Aids orphans in Africa: "For me, we all need to be Jesus in our time.

"Jesus's message was to love your neighbour as yourself and these are people in need.

"I hope that people got that message. Of course some people thought, 'Oh she's just being controversial, she's just getting on a cross and trying to piss people off,' but that wasn't my intention at all.

"The cross is a very powerful symbol and it symbolises suffering, but it also is connected to a person who was loving and sharing and his message was about unconditional love.

"I tried to take a powerful image and use it to draw attention to a situation that needs attention," the Kabbalah follower said.

Madonna, who has modelled herself on Eva Peron and Marilyn Monroe in the past, added: "I'd like to think I am taking people on a journey; I am not just entertaining people, but giving them something to think about when they leave."

In comments which may annoy her British film-director husband Guy Ritchie, the star, who has been under fire for her adoption of Malawian baby David Banda, shed light on her friendships with gay men.

People online quoted her as saying: "Gay men are perfect men for girls who are tough. They're not threatened by strong women, and they're usually very in touch with their feelings and pay attention to details. I've always had an affinity with gay men."

Does that mean she'll be starving herself soon? :laugh1:

Madonna rocks! But I love her as Madonna, I don't want her to ne like Gandhi...

She is a genius actually. 90s Madonna rocks. She's my favorite female artist.

I've sorta heard Gimme all your luvin, and I heard that she smashed halftime viewing figures with her superbowl appearance...

Madonna live on! We love you!

I think she's a good role model for female artists.

yeah, well that little part I heard of it weren't too good

I think she should do some acoustic/piano stuff...she's got a great low pitch voice but she always uses high, when she don't need to

i love the power of goodbye

I have come from the future to tell you American Life was crap! =)

I have come from the future to tell you American Life was crap! =)

It seems that they already knew.

I thought someone made a new thread. Madonna needs to sit down and STOP.

I have come from the future to tell you American Life was crap! =)

As you can see, the last post was April 2003.

American Life was released in April 2003.

Let us look at the last post, about nine years ago:

Well, if her first single foreshadows what's yet to come, i can assure you it will be bad.. :D

hmmm

Due to my careful deduction, I can conclude that they had already obtained this information, and do not need your services as a niche, time-traveling, mediocre music critic.

lol sorry I just really needed to resurrect madonna, if that's okay....

....I have a bad feeling about this... :uhoh:

I have come from the future to tell you American Life was crap! =)

It's certainly not her best, but I think it's pretty good lyrically.

In my secret garden

I'm looking for the perfect flower

Waiting for my finest hour

In my secret garden

I still believe after all

I still believe and I fall

You plant the seed and I'll watch it grow

I wonder when I'll start to show

I wonder if I'll ever know

Where my place is

Where my face is

I know it's in here somewhere

I just wish I knew the color of my hair

I know the answer's hiding somewhere

In my secret garden

There's a petal that isn't torn

A heart that will not harden

A place that I can be born

In my secret garden

A rose without a thorn

A lover without scorn

If I wait for the rain

To kiss me and undress me

Will I look like a fool

Wet and a mess

Will I still be thirsty

Will I pass the test

And if I look for the rainbow

Will I see it

Or will it pass right by

'Cause I'm not supposed to see

'Cause the blind are never free

Even at my secret garden

There's a chance that I could harden

That's why I'll keep on looking for

A petal that isn't torn

A heart that will not harden

A place that I can be born

In my secret garden

A rose without a thorn

A lover without scorn

I still believe

I still believe

'Cause after all is said and done

I'm still alive

And the boots have come and trampled on me

And I'm still alive

'Cause the sun has kissed me

And caressed me

And I'm strong

And there's a chance

That I will grow

This I know

So I'm still looking for

A petal that isn't torn

A heart that will not harden

A place that I can be born

It's in my secret garden

A rose without a thorn

A lover without scorn

Somewhere in fontainebleau

Lies my secret garden

god she doesnt deserve a thread

xD

^ lol

MDNA is awesome by the way. "Falling Free" is absolutely beautiful.

I used to like her music, but nowadays she is attempting to get into the mainstream corner. I don't like her new album songs (Or the songs from Hard Candy) and including Nicky Minaj popped the bubble for me.
