What If

Ooooooohhhhhhhhhh that's right, it's a thread on 'What if'.

Post your comments on it here.

I like it... but not in my top 5 off the album.

It's the best for me :D Love this song!! But prefer the live version

after 10 listens, it's finally starting to grow on me - it was my least fave track on the album for a while but i think i'm starting to appreciate it. still thinks its a bit dull though (sorry! :)

i fell in love with it when I heard the kcrw version. Now the album version is absolutely beautiful. one of my favorites

Potential single if you ask me :)

This song grows. Didn't like it when I first heard it... Thought it was too formulaic. It's one of my faves off X&Y now though :D

i have a very hinting feeling that this song reminds me of everything's not lost.... hmm... :smug: :smug:

I loved it when I first heard it! Pretty sad song though :/ .

This is my favorite song off the album, next to Fix You.

And I wrote a pretty in depth tab on the instrument forum.

I like the lyrics alot more than the melody...oh well

It's growing on me too, very good (sad) but good song. I love Chris's voice so it would be impossible not to love it in some way.

I think at first I was thrown off by the start of the album version, I didn't like it as much, because on the live version i have, it is a lot more intense and I like it that way, on the album version it doesn't seem like he is singing from his heart, at least at the start.

Loved it right when i heard it. those melodies didnt need to grow on me at all...very beautifully written

This song (and Fix You) makes me cry

I definetly agree with you on that one! There was just so much emotion put into the live version, mostly the singing but I also found the music sounded better too in the verses.

This song (and Fix You) makes me cry

Me too, very sad and meaningful lyrics!

I think I like fix you more than what if? but its still a great song. the transition to the chorus is great, i love the big OooOOoOoo, sure not the best lyric chris has written, but i love it all the same. I love it though. It's a song everyone can relate to because everyone is scared of getting it wrong. It's just Brilliant. Nothing unusual there.

this is one song i continually skip. i just don't like it.

Same with me

I liked the live KCRW version better. Less epic.

I love this song. I play it the most out of all the songs from the album :)
