eline.
People like male gays less than lesbians, it seems?
mc_squared
Well that's a revelation!! So it sounds like they'd be better off in Brighton, then. That's supposed to be a VERY gay-friendly town.
Ireentje
Well, it's more the fact that men are more easily able to be violent and beat people up, and it's mostly men who are homophobic, concentrating on male gays, because they seem to be afraid that every gay men will immediately hit on them and try to rape them or something like that... eline.
What I said.. where are you afraid of? I mean, why don't you tell people you're attracted to girls?
Ireentje
Because I'm afraid of what they'll say. It's just...I had quite a hard time admitting it to myself, and I've just got to get used to idea myself. I'm not especially afraid of telling people at school, because I believe most people will accept me as I am..teh only person I really dread to tell is my father. It's just...I've started the process of telling friends. I told Marieke, I told you, I told Rianne, Susanne from my history class who's gay too, Chris (Rianne's ex :stunned:) who's gay too () and Jacob and my mum..so just getting on the road... eline.
how did you find out about that people that they're gay? :) If you ever get a gf, would you be afraid to show that to everyone?
Ireentje
Well, I found Susanne's name on a website somewhere..and i asked her about it and she said she had never felt anything for boys at all ever in her entire life. I'd never expected it from her :) And she told me about Chris and another girl, because she went to a place called the COC with them. If I ever get a girlfriend I'm really in love with, I would not hesitate at all to show it to the world. For some reason I'm just really sure about that. Ireentje
Well, it's not like I'm dancing through the streets shouting I'm gay, I just really need to get used to it. I mean, you don't realize it at first, but we grow up in a completely heterosexual world, every movie, every book, everything regarding love, romance, relationships, it's almost always man and woman. bmillerlte
irenetje... if u want to talk... i came out to both my parents this year and it wasnt pretty... it has sucked but im glad i came clean, its worth the shit you get from them. Its a great feeling not having to worry about if people will find out or if your friends wont accept you. My advice is, no matter how homophobic your dad is, get it off your chest, then you wont have as much stress :D
