Daner
I haven't posted here in forever and a day.. but all I have to say is: Being gay = constant emotional pain and thoughts of suicide for me. Someday I hope I'll be able to look at it differently.. but with the way society pictures gay people it probably wont be very soon. Not all gay people act like Jack on will and grace and walk around in heels with make up on, and it really pisses me off when I see people like that. It just makes the stereotype that much more believable.
Majson
you know what makes me laugh? when some straight people at uni tried to tell me they were homophobic Them: Gays should all be shot, it's wrong me: You watch porn? Them: Yeah, course i fucking do Me: Does it have woman on woman like most male fantasy land has? Them: Yeah, don't be stupid. course it does me: You know that means you can't be homophobic then because that's still gay them: No, just men lesbians are different me: uh huh, so basically you're afraid of males liking men. Maybe you should think why that might be, tempted perhaps? stupid fools.

I'm always reminded of the Shakespeare line, "me thinks thou doth protest too much." Those men especially that are REALLY homophobic always lead me to believe that they are covering up for their own insecurities about being gay :)

Ireentje
I'm so glad I live here and not in the United States. Although this poor gay editor of a gay magazine in New York, who visited Amsterdam and thought "Well, this is a tolerant country, I can take a stroll in the park walking hand in hand with my boyfriend", then got beaten straight into a hospital by a group of 6 Moroccans... Ireentje
Well it seems to be mostly gay male couples who express their feelings in public who seem to get harassed or abused in our capital...odd, really.
