Professor Peedston
I already mentioned this one recently in another thread, but... eh. The Beach Boys - "Kokomo" Actually there are a number of Beach Boys songs I could pick for this one (when Capitol Records was forcing three records every year out of Brian Wilson, some filler was bound to work its way in), but "Kokomo" earns my ire much more than any of the mundane junk like "Pom Pom Play Girl" and "Do You Remember?" that filled out their early albums. Anyway, that aside: Coldplay - "The Scientist" The Beatles - "Glass Onion" (those self-referential songs always bug me, and Ringo's songs ("Yellow Submarine," anybody?) are too easy targets) XTC - "That's Really Super, Supergirl" The Flaming Lips - "Waitin' For a Superman" (bands shouldn't write songs about super-people, maybe?) This was kinda hard. I keep wanting to include entire albums by bands I like that weren't very good, but that obviously doesn't fit the definition of this thread. gentleparachute
^ I thought "Yellow Submarine" was pretty good... I rather enjoyed it. Could be due to the novelty factor in their sound of course :) I like how ridiculous it is, never could take their songs seriously...
Reilly
Yellow Submarine is fantastic! If you want a bad Beatles song, Maxwell's Silver Hammer. I used to be alright with it but if you listen to it, twice or three times in a row, its just the most annoying song. And whats worse is, you put on Abbey Road, you hear the delight of Lennon's Come Together, the absolute history-making Harrison's Something, and then you hear this piece of crap. Space Cadet
Oi! Give the new Coldplay songs some time. Don't Panic made me cringe every time I heard it. For at least two years I would skip it. I'm not sure if I ever made it to the end of the song, even. Then, one day, it just didn't bug me anymore. In fact, I quite liked it. Now it's one of my favorite songs. But it took me two whole years.
green eyes88
Greenday- wake me up when september ends... The 3 first singles were great, that one sort of ruined it. I actually don't really like the whole "American Idiot" akbum too much, except for the first 3 singles, everything else is either too long, or the songs sound the same. I'm finding it hard giving it a chance
Bace
Hmm... The Killers - Glamorous Indie Rock & Roll I like pretty much everything on the Hot Fuss album, but this is way too cheesy. Gets on my nerves. Natalie Imbruglia - Slow Down Cheesy x 6271. Fine, she's in love, but there has to be a limit. Hmm.. I'll be back with more. ;)
