I had no idea Joaquin Pheonix was playing the part of Johnny Cash!! I was thinking of seeing this.. but now I am definitely going to see it!!

I love Joaquin Phoenix. He's awesome! I'm definitely seeing this. I've heard some good things about their performances.

It looks good. I'll probably go see it. I'm a huge fan of Reese Witherspoon.

It will probably do very well, considering how the Ray Charles biopic did last year. I'd love to see Joaquin Pheonix FINALLY get an Oscar (or just a nod) for SOMETHING. :rolleyes:

He and reese did all the singing, the accents are really good, and is a movie about Johnny Cash... I'm dying to see it.

Yeah, I read an article in I believe Entertainment Weekly where he talked about getting the exact Cash voice, how it really comes from the throat. He had to do exercises for it! :o :lol:

 

I think Reese Witherspoon did all HER singing too, which is awesome.

I hope Joaquin gets recognized by the Academy for this one. He's a really good actor.

I'm hoping this won't be a "Ray" copy, but the people down at Fox studios told me its even BETTER than Ray lol. Its probably gonna be great!

Yes... it looks great. Another film festival movie.

I hope he gets an oscar, but is quite difficult two oscars in a row for guys portraying bio-pic of dead musicians.....

Can't wait to see it either ... i bet Chris Martin will be there right along with us ;)

Wow. I literally just finished the movie (seriously, the credits just started rolling).

 

I've always loved Johnny Cash. He reminds me a lot of my grandfather who passed a few years ago, so he's always been one of my favorite people in the world. And Joaquin Phoenix is probably my second favorite person in the world :lol: So this movie was absolutely PERFECT for me! Man, I loved it!! Very glad I bought the DVD!

 

 

 

...It makes me even more bitter that Joaquin didn't win..... :(

I shall be buying it on DVD when it comes out here too. God there's so many I want. Am going to bankrupt myself :stunned:

I saw the film last night and thought it was excellent. reese witherspoon really deserves the oscar... plus, joaquin phoenix also played more than fantastic. :heart:

I like Reese singing-she's really sounds like June,great job.
