Thrashing Birmingham 7-0 at St Andrews, the semi final at Old Trafford where the Redmen beat Chelsea 2-1 and of course the final itself! Believe it or not I had to listen to the whole of that match on the radio because BBC Scotland were screening Hearts v Gretna in the Scottish Cup! Still - the best FA Cup Final ever.

Exciting times ahead for Coates and Liverpool! May take him time to adapt to England but when he does he'll just be brutal! Comolli and Kenny have done a fine job with their imports and exports this summer and of course they wouldn't have been able to do so without the backing of owners FSG.

Although i'm a fan of Peñarol (Nacional's historical rival and best team of Uruguay), I wish the best to Coates and hope he can be useful to his new team! I have to admit he played really good when he played on Nacional and this last Copa America :)

And it's really funny to see how Nacional in one hand is being recognised for selling Sebastian Coates to Liverpool F.C and winning 8 million dollars and on the other hand is being disputed because of Nicolas Lopez case :P

At 7 million quid at only 20 years old it's a risk worth taking. If he does struggle at first then no worries. Liverpool could have given up on Lucas in his poor first couple of seasons and now look at him. He's one of the first names in the starting eleven.

 

Besides if you'd care to look at other Uruguayan defenders such as Lugano and Godin then it would be a case of them ROUGHING up English football, not the other way round. No country produces central defenders quite like Uruguay.

He comes from a VERY poor family, with lots of brothers and he did the impossible to chase his dream and become a professional football player. It's shocking and unacceptable of the English FA to impose that ban on Suarez. I'm sure you'd agree like most people around the world, that it is just an incident of the FA grand standing in their war against FIFA as though they are childishly saying 'We're not racist but you lot are'. How dare the FA try to lecture a Uruguyan international like Suarez on racism and effectively the whole of Uruguay when it is that country who have a far greater race record than England.
