June 3, 201115 yr Oh my lord, Serge's hair is awful. I love those reviews of the songs though, can't wait to hear them! :bomb:
June 3, 201115 yr I got nme this morning on the way to work, then took an unprofessionally long, early break so I could read it  It makes for exciting reading I have to say. The three songs that get reviewed (Switchblade Smile, Velociraptor, Rewired) are described as sounding completely mad & insane. Switchblade Smile: "rumbling, evolving black clooud of techno intensity" "complex .... full of batshit vim on an epic scale" "It's heavy as fuck" "it's got a Beastie Boys edge to it, but it's pure Kasabian really. It's the older brother of Vlad" Velociraptor: a mix of Nirvana and the Prodigy "probably the first single off the album" "bubblegum hooligan, noisy, hooky, addictively nutty" "more violent than Club Foot" Rewired: "ambitious with a sublime melody" Serge says: "it's a big tune... it lures you in ... it's sleazy" Tom says: "it's sexy rock.. with some balls, something sexy and a bit wild" Really excited about the sound of these new songs! Can't wait for the new album! :bomb:
June 6, 201115 yr That awkward moment when one of your favourite bands writes a song about a dinosaur... [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2n0gr9CS0Ik]YouTube - Kasabian Velociraptor[/ame] "Velociraptor, he's gunna find ya, he's gunna kill ya, he's gunna eat ya" :laugh3: :laugh3: :laugh3:
June 6, 201115 yr as opposed to a song about a Doberman? :P anyway, another video of the Velociraptor performance + a video of them performing Switchblade Smile HERE (warning: quite shitty quality) loving the riffs & hooks of the new songs, especially Velociraptor (as long as i ignore the lyrics...especially that chorus :dozey: )! :D
June 6, 201115 yr god, I can't wait to hear their new single!! Seen those videos and the new songs seem quite wild! Liking the sound of it :)
June 6, 201115 yr Ahhhhhh that's the first time I've heard one of their new songs, I really really like Velociraptor!! The comical aspect of the chorus is enough to make up for its weirdness  :bomb:
June 7, 201115 yr "Velociraptor, he's gunna find ya, he's gunna kill ya, he's gunna eat ya" cunning. This will stick, trust me.
June 7, 201115 yr I think I can safely predict that we'll be driving back from Manchester tomorrow night singing that Velociraptor line. Argh, 24 hours, I can't wait, it's gunna be a riot :guitarist: Zane Lowe's on the radio in a minute. He's playing Switchblade Smile sooooon  [edit: he's just said he'll be playing itin half an hour, so you guys have got time to tune in, if you can]

June 7, 201115 yr It's in the Kasabian d/load thread in MM :nice: yeah, La Fee Verte is a title that's been knocking around for awhile, I think they mentioned that track towards the end of last summer. I reckon, Acid Turkish Bath will be the obligatory instrumental song. They always seem to have at least one. I think it sounds like an instrumental, idk why
June 7, 201115 yr That awkward moment when one of your favourite bands writes a song about a dinosaur... "Velociraptor, he's gunna find ya, he's gunna kill ya, he's gunna eat ya" :laugh3: :laugh3: :laugh3: Really liking Switchblade Smiles but Velociraptor is awesome and the chorus is mega fun to sing along to! :awesome:
