Okay, not EVERY girl has such low self-esteem that they throw themselves at a guy who says "I love you" and not EVERY guy will say that just for sex. I hate it when people lump all teens up with the few you see or hear about. We're not all the same, and some of us know what love is.

well..i don't!

at least i think so

I'm In Loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee with my jakey.

and i don't say I Love You to anyone else unless it's like I Luv Ya or something.

cyber love is just plain bullshit in my opinion.

Cyber dating is even worse. I mean.. how can you even date online ?

I agree

myeah, i just always feel sorry for those cyberdaters. They're just wasting their time thinking that they can live togehter in some years.

The truth is that people change and cyber "love" can never be as good as real love.

You can never even hug or kiss or cuddle your cyber lover

and also you never know if the other person is lying and instead of being a 19 year old handsome and nice guy, is a 50 year old man

But i've heard of people who have ended up married after getting to know each other online. They're fine.

it seems like love is used with friends now. and that's really loosening the meaning of the word. if a friend does something for another friend they say "ahh i love you!" but they don't mean that they want to share the rest of their lives with them and truly, truly care about them. also, it seems like with teenagers, 'love' is being used by guys to get sex from girls. "OH, HE LOVES ME, OKAY, I'LL THROW MYSELF AT THIS GUY I'VE KNOW FOR THREE SECONDS." that's basically what every teenage girl (or sometimes even guy) is saying. i mean, come on. how are you supposed to express your love anymore? this word is basically downsized to "like" now. it's...it's nothing anymore. :dozey:.

The funny thing is that the guy I had this crush on some months ago (yeah my thread.....) says "I love you" to me quite often....funny that he is the only guy who has ever said it to me....:wacky:

Well it might work for some random people but i personally see it totally pointless.

Especially if you think you're in love with someone before you've even seen that person.

It's different if you meet online, talk a few times then decide to meet in real life and try if it works out and then possibly fall in love. I just don't think it's healthy at all to make a commintment to someone before you've even seen that person.. I know those cases too

My love is emigrating to south africa with her father :bigcry:

Just my bloody love, finally find a girl who feels the same way towards me as I do towards her, and she happens to be quitting the country on the 10th :(

Yes :bigcry:

We're still going out, but as friends and not lovers as Sal said it's not worth getting too deep when we will be spilt up in over a week :(

Damn, I'm really saddened by this! Sucks! :(

You're not the person whose heart has been broken :(

Oh I know, Dave. Just can't help feeling this way. I bet all the other gals from here would feel the same way as myself. :-/

To me it's sad how theword is thrown around needlessly... I personally believe its the reason for why every other marriage ends in divorce. It makes me wonder why or if people actually fall in love anymore...:(

They're just wasting their time thinking that they can live togehter in some years.

why does that sound so familiar?

Funny how this person appears to be an expert on somebody's love life when they're not the ones in their shoes. I mean, I could do that as well, saying that it's "bullshit" to fall in love with someone that they met at a social gathering. I mean.. how can you even date someone you met only then?

But it's not up to me to say that. If you have an opinion like that, keep it to yourself. Don't go saying it to other people and continue attacking them because they do something that is clearly different to what you prefer.

well sorry if i offended you but i've seen it happen so many times and it has happened to me too so i do think i have a right to say what i think about it.

Cyber love has ruined friendships and it has also made them miserable.

I'm not saying that it NEVER works, but people should see the reality. It's not very realistic to think they can have a future together if they have no possibilities to travel to that other person's place and spend some real quality time together and get to know the person in real life as well.

People also tend to act different when you're talking to them online than when you're living with them (i have experiences of this too)

i don't get that social gathering comment though but whatever.

I also don't think i'm attacking people just because i say what i think.

Welcome to the board by the way...

Heh. I never understood this cyber dating thing. I mean ... I did meet somebody on the internet, but then we were actually seeing each other (in real life).

But ... dating/having a relationship is based on sex appeal, too. And is it included in the www? No if you ask me. Of course you see pics of people and say "(S)he looks hot, I'd do him/her. (S)he also has a wonderful personality." But ... you don't know if that's really them and if they're really that nice.. While in real life relationship you see the person and know quickly if you're attracted to them.

And because that's a part of a love relationship, a cyber one can't really stand a chance. I mean ... you can only wank when seeing pics/videos, but does that do justice to the relationship?

argh shit....that sucks big time. I feel really sorry for you Dave....really....

I could console you by saying that at least she feels the same way like you do...I mean hey there is someone out there who loves you just they way you are...but I know this won't help you now...

so I hope you'll feel better soon. That's all I can say for now.
