chris's voice live

Featured Replies

has anyone noticed how chris's voice has started to suffer signifigantly now adays, i mean hes probably tired, but its strange

I kinda wish that they weren't doing this second leg. I think the guys are so absurdly burnt out with touring and this album. I think they just want to record.

Chris' voice does sound a bit strained. They're all tired.

yah i imagine back to back shows will do that to ya. it must be hard, performing live on the grammys after almost 3 days in a row of performing.

He sang a lot better at the concert on the 4th in LA than he did in the one I saw in Irvine in August--I'm guessing it's because the concert I was just at was near the opening of the second leg... or... cuz the crowd was completely awesome. :)

But I listened to the concert on KROQ 2 days after the one I went to, and his voice kept cracking. :/

I don't know...

100% AGREE!!!!! what the hell were they thinking!

And they're going until autumn.

not to sound too harsh...but now they are very inconsistant live and when they dont deliver fans get pissed. this second leg is absurd, they said it themselves that they want to get back into the studio. doing Australia is fine, but the US again is simply too much.

yah im lucky that i saw him in like the 3rd date and 4th date of the show both in sac or san jose. he sounded WONDERFUL then, now his voice is getting al ittle raspy.... but he is perfect no matter what he does. i like it no matter what

there are no shows confirmed in south america yet, but if they play here (and i'm pretty sure they will), it's gonna be after the canadian shows in april, maybe 1 or 2 little shows on april or may before australia and new zealand, so he'll be well rested to blow me away :)

i'm seeing them of March 25'th and April 6'th which are the 4'th to last, and the absolute last, shows of the tour...it will be interesting to see how they hold up by then.

aw yes thatll be interesting. but im sure that you will have a great show no matter what, guarenteed! chris and the gang always do a good job, no matter what

yes, i recognised that too ... wel, we all love chris but i guess it was a little too much for him ...

he should jump around less and concentrate on his voice a little more these days.

i saw them perform Talk at the Grammys. gotta say the vibe is AWESOME! Really a FANTASTIC performance!!

but, um, Chris' voice did sound a lil bit weird. Fatigue, i think.

Um, I wished they played 'White Shadows'...

I know what you're saying about Chris' voice. He really needs to take care of himself and not overdo it... :(

Yeah, I really think that with this american tour, it's too much for them! Chris didn't seem very well yesterday!

They just need to stop touring now..and just make a new album..

Mayb some rest..and then they begin their tour in the netherlands :P

I agree. Those guys are seriously working their butts off, and have been for a long time now, which we all appreciate (coz we get to see them live, etc), but to be totally honest I'd rather not see them live than Chris f*ck up his voice and do serious permenant damage. Just the thought of that scares the sh*t out of me.

I hope they get some well-deserved rest sometime soon. :/

yeah..and with allthis touring thex'll need mire time to *recover* and find some new lust for the music they're makin..and that's another 2 years of waiting for fans.

as for south america, the're doing it in fall, cus the sec. leg is schedulled to finish at the time gwyneth delivers. ;)

what you say might be true, but you also have to remember that it always sounds a bit different on tv... ;)

After watching the video just now, I actually think his voice sounded fine!

Its sorta put my mind to rest. :) - for now anyway. :/

^I agree, last night I also didn't realize anything 'negative' with his voice... it sounded fine indeed...

Watching last night I thought,uh oh.The band played perfectly but Chris' voice was obviously strained.I agree with a previous post that maybe he should try to concentrate on his vocals and less on jumping around etc cause of losing his breath.I do have to say this the performances of Talk live are not his strongest, some songs just sound better live than others I guess. Im sure that when we see them we will have a great time reguardless :D

Really?! :/

The 'jumping about' is great to watch, and it's Chris's way of expressing himself. I love the way he just dances around like a nutter and doesn't care what he looks like, it's one of my favourite things about him. He always looks like he's having such a great time up there, and it makes me happy to watch it that way.

I'd much rather have him slightly out of breath, than have 'perfect' vocals but just standing there static and not putting all that wonderful energy into his performance.

don't know how to rule between these 2 opinions. it's the first time. :o
