I don't know. I think maybe they just want time apart, time to live normally etc.

Yes of course...and I think it's obvious, but 4 years are...4 years :stunned:

Of course they're going away for a couple years....it's called a vacation! Over the past year and a half they've recorded X&Y, finished 1 leg of a 2-year world tour, and have been working on the 4th album. You don't want to ask so much of them that they just explode from the stress...they're people too. It isn't uncommon that bands don't make an album for 3 or 4 years. I think we waited 3 years for X&Y. He said at the Seattle show "see you in a few years"....which means after the tour ends in September, after they take a year or so off from touring, after they sit down to write and record a 4th album, and release it before starting another tour in probably 2008.

Though I remember Chris saying he wanted to start making albums more frequently like the Beatles used to. Pretty much anything Chris says can't be taken seriously anymore...he said Slash was the greatest guitar player to ever live....come on.

$20 says they put out a new album next summer, lol.

that's what I wrote before...also Guy said this thing about the Beatles

Of course I don't want them to explode for the stress...uff I must breath :stunned:

Grrrrrrrrrrrr!! I googled coldplay in the news section to find out exactly what Brits they won and all I get it s coldplay, quite, coldplay break up etc. stooopid! http://news.google.co.uk/nwshp?hl=en&tab=wn&q=coldplay

I'm going to rename this thread and sticky it. Otherwise we'll get hundreds of them.

Anyway, its good for them to be having a break, the amount of travelling round doing shows they've done recently they're probably owed the equivalent of 2 years holiday.

And, Take That split up 10 years ago for good. Yet, I'm going to a concert in 2 months time! So as long as they don't have a break as long as that it'll be fine

he said "you wont see us at one of these (ie the brits) for a few years". even if they released an album in a years time (which would be really soon) then they wouldnt get nominations at the brits until 2008. I think theyll just do the same thing they did for X&Y. They need to take time off and then get fresh to write a new album. i'm not worried! :D

Yay! Finally someone that isn't worried! I love you :D !

Hmmm...im not too worried either!

Obviously im a bit sad, but if it helps them, then they should do it. :)

I dunno...I'm a bit too confused yet, I guess. Sadness will probably come later during the day :D (I don't think I'm not joking, though.)

But I agree, Steph. I've actually already been wondering, when they'll take some time for themselves again...

i think they think that they have too few albums and songs, and they want to make some new albums... I'm just thinking but I think that it's right, they have no ideas what to play on concerts... eh... we must w8 and look after new songs... greetings

they've been so great to us over the past year. 6 proper gigs in london alone! shed loads of tv shows (jonothan ross twice for example) and god knows how many gigs worldwide. they appreciate their fans so they deserve time off.

I'm not worried at all..Debs said they're going to take a break and soon after the will start recording the new album as usual :)

^Exactly! ;)

Does anyone remember what Chris said at the last minute on radio 1?

"Can I tell you something, since this is our last radio interview for many years. Our next record is going to be alot better, and I know 'cause its written. And that's all I have to say. Goodbye."

(Stupid tabloids aside) is any of this actually new? They are currently winding down the US tour and then there's the Australian tour and that's it. Miller has said they've been writing a ton of new material in soundchecks, and they've been saying for awhile that they want to get into a studio soon.

I think what Chris means is that the Brits was the last official UK appearance for the current tour.

After every single album they tell that they won't make another one, go on a long holiday because fans are fed up with them blah blah and so on...

Yeah, right...

They obviously need a break to prepare and write new songs and of course to record new material.

So I don't think there's much to worry about. They'll have gigs in Australia in summer and if the South American tour is true then they'll go there as well.

I think it's me and others who haven't seen them live so far should worry about it because so far no dates in the near area have been announced ;)

Everyone is getting as paranoid as Chris.

true...i've got an impression from chris's words that we wont see them in any of these kind events for a few years, but few can mean 2 to 100 years..but i think they'll do the same thing as they did for x&y, and the only thing that bothers me is the fact we wont see their pics for a whole year..

and i'm pissed cus i'm kinda sure they wont be near my place (just like they've never been) on one hand but on another 2008 is the year i'll probably move (if i get to uni) to the capital for college and be close to austria and hungary and italy. :D

and i do think we have to consider the fact that with another baby on the way chris is more than emotional then ever...and maybe the rest of the guys wanna start their families. :)

^Yes, you're definitley right about the family thing ;)

I know that all the fans are sad when they have a break. Of course I am too. But I think it's a bit pathetic when people complain about not having the chance to see them in the near future but they've seen them like 5 times so far...

I accept that they need a break, they must be tired and all.

if they ever come to budapest i'm coming, if they come to croatia are you coming?

Can't believe I just wrote something about great news on another thread before I spotted this one... I don't even want to think about 4-5 years without Coldplay :stunned: But I guess it's only fair that they should have a break, since it's been a busy year for them.. I still try to be positive, a while ago I was just sooo over the moon about those two brits and now this.. If they have actually written new material then I hope to see a new album, hopefully sooner than 4 years

^Awww babe. :( Thats true. It must be so annoying having people going on about it when you guys haven't seen them at all yet. *hugs*

As far as im concerned, they've given us more than we could have ever hoped for this year, and they have worked their asses off beyond belief. I am so grateful for all that hard work, and so incredibly proud of them for what they have acheived this year.

I hope they have a really good rest after this tour, work on the best album in the world ever :D and then come back feeling all refreshed and ready to rock again.

Sure I am!!! I guess all the Hungarian fans would be in Croatia if they came
