I watched it.I'm so disappointed.First, they didnt give Oscar to Jake Gyllenhaal, who deserves it more than anyone.Second, the Brokeback Mountain didnt get the Best Movie Oscar, though it really was the best film of the year and generally great picture.Than,Walking Castle(its japanese cartoon,i have no idea how to translate it in english correctly)didnt get the Best animated movie, but its jenious,it really deserves Oscar!

Only two Oscars were given fair:the Best Actress for Reese for Walk The Line and Best Director for Ang Lee for Brokeback Mountain, this man deserves it since The Ice Storm.

Thats all.

i didn't see it too because here the oscars start at half past midnight and finish at half past tree (or something like that) and for anyone like me with classes at ten past eight on the next day it's completely impossible for me to see it!!!

was jon stewart any good in presenting this ceremony? i agree with you Lera about brokeback mountain....but i was really happy that rachel weiss won!:D the constant gardner is a really great movie and she's so sweet!

I didnt like his presenting and his jokes...Hehe it started at 4 am here and I had classes next day but I still watched....Now I'm disappointed:disappointed:

I hate all the stuff. It's always the same... I would never watch this event, not only because it's in the night. Thankfully the Oscar ceremony is over and we have to wait the next 365 days...

And it's so typical that a German movie don't get this f-word Oscar...

Hmm...Russian one wasnt even nominated as a foreign movie....It sucks

I don't like the oscars that much but I did see them yesterday. I liked that crash won

ok i'm a studiest then ...but do you like him on the daily show?

yeah Isis33 crash was a big surprise, at least for me...i have to watch it, i got it in dvd and never watched:(

welcome btw ;) (i just saw this is your first post)

How do you put in pics?

to put pics in your avatar just go to your profile and click on the quick links on the top of this page

i think you can't post pics in this board now (someone help me?) but to do that you need to upload the pic you want to post on something like photobucket.com and then post the link here. like this: paste your link here

i hope this helps ;)

I'm disappointed just like Lera and Lili.... :(

I strongly believe that Brokeback Mountain deserved the more interesting Oscars like Best Movie (of course!) and best Actors(specially the last one Award 'cause I know the actors did a HUGE effort for doing that role and they did it excellent!!!)

gosh! Crash didn't like me 'cause it doesn't show my reality, here we don't live with this racism and comparing to Brokeback Mountain is that superficial... although is true it's a different movie that has a different topic than the usual fool-movies we are used to see at the cinemas.. but anyway I think it ISN'T the best film of the entire 2005.

i dont care about anything else... YEAH WALLACE AND GROMIT! THEY ROCK! WOO HOO!

Wallace And Gromit dont deserve Oscar at all,I wanted The Howl's Moving Castle get Oscar soooo much! Its the best cartoon of last year!

My thoughts on the Oscars:

First off, I don't think I'm entitled to give a credible opinion because I didn't see all of the movies nominated in all the major categories. However, by the end of the month, I should. For some reason I always end up joining the Oscar race AFTER it's over!

Anyways. I think that Brokeback Mountain was the best movie in the past.... well, at least the past 5 years! I haven't seen a movie this moving, this incredible, in SO long. It should have won best movie. I was so incredibly dissapointed when it didn't! I have yet to see Crash, so I'll get back to you on if that deserved to win. But I don't think anything could top Brokeback to me. If a movie wins Best Adapted Screenplay AND Best Director, wouldn't that make it best movie??? What the hell? Ang Lee was talking about this after the show, expressing his surprise and dissapointment (and he seemed pissed off, rightly so!).

What got me upset was that they didn't give Joaquin Phoenix a Best Actor oscar. That just really........ beyond dissapointed me. He's been my favorite actor for SO long now. It was like the 2001 Oscars all over again, when he didn't get the Best Supporting Actor award (which he should have, for Gladiator). However, I have to admit that this was an incredibly strong category. Every single man deserved an Oscar to go home with. It's just I really really wanted to see Joaquin get one.

Jon Stewart is possibly my current favorite person in the whole world lately, so he can never do wrong to me. Honestly, though, he WAS hysterical. I absolutely love his style of humor, but I think a lot of the jokes could have gone over the academy's large heads. I don't care how he's percieved by people (I've known he's brilliant for 5 or so years now). He's not a slapstick, silly comedian like they may be used to. He doesn't do stupid little skits.

Oh man I loved the joke about Spielberg. "The man who made Schindler's List and Munich. The man who has all Jews asking 'I can't WAIT to see what happens to us next!' *crosses fingers* TRILOGY!"

First off, I liked Jon Stewart. I thought his jokes were funny...I mean, obviously he wasn't as "edgy" as he usually is, but he can't be, really. The Oscars are such a stiff show. And many of the jokes that Jon Stewart was making were about the people who were in that room (ex. rich people) and I firmly believe that Hollywood is incapable of laughing at themselves. I think he did a good job, especially given the audience he had that night.

Oh, and I think Crash deserved Best Picture. It's generally a stronger movie overall, I think.

I was most pleased with Crash winning best picture.. I knew once I saw the movie that it would be nominated for screenplay.. it was cleverly written and well executed.. I loved it. I'm glad it won in both cats.

I was also happy with Clooney winning supp. actor... he deserved it.

I totally agree!!!!! I was glad that "Crash" won!!!!!!!! It was definitly the film of the year...

but i think that in supporting actor should have been Paul Giammati... he's really good!!!

Someone is a bit of a Brokeback fanwhore, eh?

Rachel Weiss deserved her Oscar as well. I think Crash was movie of the year by far... but I don't agree at all with the Best Actor Oscar and the Animated Film Oscare SHOULD HAVE GONE TO CORPSE BRIDE, DAMMIT.

i just finished watching Crash... i dont think any movie can top the quality of this one, its just absoloutly amazing!

Nik posted the results, what about ceremony-I dont tyou missed something amazing....Kinda boring.

my favorite part was when lili tomlin and meryl streep did their skit(the overlaping dialogue part) when they were presenting the honorary oscar...it was better than any robert altman movie.

dont' shoot me, but i was happy that three 6 mafia won 'best song'...it's such a cheesy song , but much better than the other two nominated songs.
