Other observations: Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin are fine. Were dancing together, laughing together, very close, very in tune, very very happy. Crisis averted.

 

Chris interestingly enough is rather tight with Justin Timberlake. He and Pips spent much of the evening together giggling, goofing, Chris trying and failing to dance like JT, arms around each other throwing drinks back, conspiratorially whispering by the bar, they’re obviously quite fond of each other.

Quite honestly, I'm a little lost too.

 

But to my understanding, apparently Gwyneth and Winona were best friends, and one day Gwyneth saw the Shakespeare in Love script in Winona's house, and immediately called her agent (gwyneth "stole" the part for Shakespeare in Love from Winona).

 

And the embarassing incident was when Winona was arrested(?) or accused of stealing hundreds of dollars in clothes from a store.

The Shakespeare In Love thing isn't true though, is one of those urban legends like Richard Gere and the gerbil.
