we are not in LA here - it's London.

I also dissagree with those pictures in the Daily Mail but what can you do against papps not much, but two wrongs doesn't make one right. To post pictures which part of number plates on etc. it's just wrong, the same way it's wrong for paps to take picture of the kids toy when moving to US.

Yes us yanks do it different over here in America. Don't worry my pics are not coming onto this board, wouldn't want to hurt anyones moral standings. My pics of the car did not have licence plate #'s, they were from the side.;)

Thanks for making me feel right at home here people, I appreciate all your opinions, and will keep my thoughts and experiences to myself, too bad so many stalkers on this board can hang outside venues and bars and stuff on the off chance get to invade celebrities private times out, that's ok, but what I did is oh sooooo creepy. Again, I am not here to piss people off, that's not my intention, and will keep my pics private.

There were plenty of people taking pics of Jonny, since I was close to the door where they came out, I was politly told by Kelly to put my camera away, cameras were flashing all over the place all night. I did what I was told and didn't even try to sneak mine out, nor did I ask any of the band members for a pic, like some were doing, so I think I contained myself pretty well considering I could have gotten pics with them, but after kelly pointing out to me, to put the camera away I realized this just wasn't the place or time to do this, altho many, many, were.

Thanks, maria!!!

My point was that Mimixxx posted the article and pic that was in the Daily Mail and there were 10 plus pages of responses. No one gave a rip that the pic was posted, but just how huge the house would be. The pic is out there. Why is a fan posting their own picture different than a mod posting what is probably the same pic regardless of the source? It's ok for a mod but not a fan? And a google search will tell you where many celebs houses are.

Over in America, in LA you can take a bus tour of all the celebrities homes and are encouraged to take pics:D

I do not like hypocrisy, you have not placed pictures of his house which was discovered!

Okay, about that thing from 'hold your head down when you walk past Chris' house'

I think that is crap.

Look, because we are Coldplayfans and love to SEE chris' house. That's cool. But take pictures, doesn't have to for me.. But okay, I mean, if you're not a Coldplayfan and don't even know Chris lives there, you're just a normal person walking down the street. And then you can think: "Wow, that's a big house!" And look at it? That's isn't weird? I do it very much in my hometown..

So, my conclusion about this; don't take picture fróm his house. Just look at it (but not with a mouth hanging on your toes that every single person who passed by thinks you are a crazy person)

Oh yeah, and don't stand a long time still for his front door..

I didn't write the article or take the pictures. I didn't publish it. The story was out there whether it was posted on here or not.

There's a difference between a scummy paper trying to make some money and a fan invading someone's privacy. The fan should have more respect than that.

Imagine being his postman or paperboy lol

But don't you find it invading someones privacy by hanging out at a local venue or pub waiting to hopefully go up to a celebrity and invade his night out for a pic or autograph? I mean Chris isn't one who will say no to a fan, most of the time, but he is still out on a night out to enjoy. I can't compare that to standing across the street from his house, knowing he is not home, but at soundcheck, and when a worker most likely lied about his wife and child being home, whom volunteered that info, we didn't ask.

yes there is a difference - the roundhouse is a public space and not in front of his home. the line is always thin where to draw and "hanging" at his house is different to a venue.

How about taking a picture of them during their night out? ;) Or spying on them during a private party then telling the world about the state of their marriage?

I'm sorry if you really can't see the difference between keeping a respectable distance at a venue and standing outside someone's family home taking pics then there's nothing I can say to you.

People need to chiiilllllll out on here. Be happy for your fellow coldplayer's experience!

Ok, but if you personally have a problem with the picture that a scummy paper took of someone's house, why did you start the thread about the "Superhouse" in the first place? You posted the article here - I would never even have seen it or known about it if it wasn't posted on this board. Maybe it falls under your job as mod to look for articles, which is totally understandable, but if you are so opposed to an invasion of privacy, you could have had someone else post it or skipped it altogether. Isn't it propagating the privacy invasion by forwarding an article like that?

I don't have a problem with newspapers taking pictures, I don't think it's right, but it comes with being famous I'm afraid.

My point was that it's a shame that fans think they can do the same and it's okay.

I think it's best just to agree to disgree on this. Maybe it's just a cultural difference ;)

Agree :smug:

Um what about this thread a few weeks ago? Where they live isn't really a big secret.

Exactly. As there is already at least one photo of the house posted on here (and in the national press), a few more aren't going to make a difference. Either don't post the article at all or don't condemn others for posting photos of it.

If Ian didn't think a photo of the house should have been posted in the first place as part of that article, I'm sure he would have censored it.;)

It's not as if anyone has actually posted the address or anything, or even said whereabouts the house is. That of course would be unacceptable.;)

But there's a difference between a news story putting out some facts about their house renovation and a diehard fan nosing around and taking pictures of his personal residence. It's a public street so a person CAN just walk down it, which I admit I did, but I also know how fiercely Chris guards his family's privacy and so that's all I did. It never even crossed my mind to take a picture or to ask if anyone was home.

If you post an article featuring a photo of the house it's just the same as the paper itself printing it IMO. You can't have it both ways.:dozey:

I dont think people should post picutres of his house, but Walking past it is fine in my opinion

Your not really invading there privacy if you just walk past

It's the same really as those who go visit the bakery

Quite frankly I don't want to see any picture of Jonny from the after show party where no doubt they felt in their own private space.

Not sure why on earth would you take your camera out in an aftershow party anyway.....

I only said that Tracey could have asked the boys whether it was OK to have her photo taken with them, as it was a possible once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for her.

She could have explained the circumstances and I'm sure they would have obliged.;)

Thank-You for your input! In the future as a Mod of this board, where it concerns me, I would appreciate You as a MOD to have Pm'd me in the first place instead of being the first one to comment here that you just found it very Creepy, not becoming of a MOD IMO. I would have accepted your displeasure, being the MOD that you are that it would have been inapropriate to post it. That's all I ask in the future, is that you give me the common courtesy of privatly telling me instead of a ton of people bashing my experience that was special to me and causing me to act inapropriatly in my wording to some here. I am not that kind of person.

I totally agree. Either you have a blanket ban on any photos of the house being posted, or you allow them.;)

It's nothing to do with me being a mod, it wasn't anything official. Is nothing to do with forum rules.

It was my opinion. Simple as.

I did say maybe we should agree to disagree on this as it's obviously something we have different stances on :)

Yeah, right on, "brother"!!

Shall we talk about Gwyneth again? ;)

She looks so beautiful in those pics from Madrid!

That argument is really a shame...

I don't understand the "walking with our heads down" part since this house looks like every house in the street, you probably would have looked at it if it wasn't Chris' house...

Though I would never take pics of me in front of it or talk to the workers/the guard who was standing there ...

Okay, I know how to diffuse this argument by posting something so off topic it'll confuse all of yall and we can just go back to loving each other and acting all silly over everything Coldplay.....

...OK....here goes.....

1.) First, scroll back up the page to where Bones85' siggy is just right at the top of your screen, so just the stadium is right at the top of the page you're viewing,

2.) THEN read 'MCSquared's post (with the 'Worldtrav' quote at the top.....)

While reading that copy did you have the weird optical illusion of the stadium getting bigger & bigger again in your upper peripheral vision???

Try it and see, seriously....weird...eh???

Now what were we talking about ? Oh yeah, Gwynnie and all her glory & cuteness and luckiness and stuff, or the opposite or whatever.....
