She’s Got the Beat! Gwyneth Paltrow in Talks to Produce Go-Go’s Bio Musical

 

 

Screen favorite, organic chef, creator of all things Goop and Glee star Gwyneth Paltrow may be adding another credit to her eclectic resume: musical producer. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Academy Award winner is in negotiations to produce a musical based on the life and music of the iconic ‘80s pop group, The Go-Go’s. Paltrow is in talks to produce the musical alongside British folk singer Donovan Leitch and Rick Ferrari.

 

The Go-Go’s, who have spent the summer touring the United States, are an all-female pop/rock band featuring Belinda Carlisle, Jane Wiedlin, Charlotte Caffey, Kathy Valentine, Gina Schock and Paula Jean Brown. Their classic ‘80s hits include “Vacation,” “Our Lips Are Sealed” and of course, “We Got the Beat.” Reportedly, Carlisle and the band may write new songs for the forthcoming musical. Although several Broadway writers have been considered to pen the book for the new tuner, a writer has not yet been announced.

 

Paltrow made her West End debut in Proof, and starred in the subsequent film adaptation of the same name. She earned an Academy Award for her performance in Shakespeare in Love. Her additional film and TV credits include Se7en, Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Contagion, Country Strong, Running with Scissors and The Royal Tenenbaums.

Thats what I am questioning , he seems the nicest guy who is sooo funny all the time to the public. But wouldn't it be soo cool if we got to see him write his songs or when he gets creative? To see his genius? (Ps. Am I making sense?)

I guess only the band and Gwyneth get to see that! And Gwyneth has talked about the hardships of dealing with such a creative man! So, I was talking about understanding that!

She may like to keep herself and her family out of the limelight, but when it comes to her birthday Gwyneth Paltrow likes to be the centre of attention.

The Hollywood actress celebrated her 40th birthday with a star-studded party in London on Wednesday night and she made sure that a lot of her famous friends were there.

Among some of the guests arriving was actor Hugh Grant, celebrity chef Jamie Oliver and fashion designer Stella McCartney.

Still good friends: Grant's ex-girlfriend Jemima Khan was pictured at the same vehicle as the actor

Night off from cooking: Chef Jamie Oliver arrived at the party hand-in-hand with his wife Jools

 

As the famous faces arrived at the Riverside Café in London, they were faced with the pouring rain and had to quickly run inside to ensure that they didn't get wet.

Jamie and Jools Oliver managed to miss the downpour as they walked towards the venue.

The famous chef was dressed rather casually in chinos, a checked shirt and boat shoes.

He carried a large brown paper bag, which no doubt contained a present for Paltrow, while holding hands with his pretty wife.

 

Where's your camera? Fashion photographer Mario Testinio arrived with a female companion

The couple were closely followed by well-known fashion photographer Mario Testino.

The 57-year-old, who has shot the likes of Julia Roberts, Meg Ryan and of course Paltrow, arrived with a female companion, and was wearing a dark suit with a blue shirt.

The actress turned 40 on September 27 and celebrated with her family aboard a yacht in Portofino, Italy.

Surrounded by her husband Chris Martin and their two children, Gwyneth was presented with a cake and sung happy birthday to as she relaxed with her nearest and dearest.

The Shakespeare in Love star continued to spend the next few days in Italy where she was seen enjoying dinner with her family before heading back onto the boat.
