Oh if you haven't seen them I would say go, I'm sure they will still be decent, just the only reason I ever went to see them live was to hear John and Flea playing together.

Always been my favourite band. Best albums for me are BSSM, Californicaiton, By the Way and Mother's Milk. Will be interesting to see how the new stuff turns out without John.

On first listen, the new song sounds pretty good. It'll be hard to not compare it to the songs with John, but that's what you have to do.

It hasn't leaked yet as far as I know. Can't wait, my all-time favourite band finally making a comeback. :D

I think most of us have already listened, but you can stream their album for free on iTunes right now. Definitely can tell Frusciante is gone, but there are some good songs on it! Love Josh's background vocals too I must say.

Yep, I've listened to the whole thing twice and there are some great songs.

 

Josh has some great stuff outside of the Chili's too.

I'm with You is one of their best albums IMO, as my favourite band and the first band I fell in love with, I'm proud to say that they haven't lost any energy and are still making excellent music.

Fuse channel (here in US not sure about elsewhere) is broadcasting their concert from the Roxy in LA on Tuesday the 30th. I think a lot of the show has already made it to youtube, but I'm excited to hear it with better audio.

Did anyone pick up the album today? I did :) It's awesome! (I tried not to listen to the stream too much).

I bought the album today and God it's awful except for a few good moments from Flea,the layering of guitars,melodies and the great backing vocals are all gone, while I'm of the opinion that Josh is a great musician I'm not really pleased with what they've put together at all.

I got it yesterday and I actually love it. I'm a HUGE Frusciante fan, but Josh has really grown on me. I love his backing vocals. His voice sounds so ethereal. My only negative comment is that I want Josh's guitar to be louder in the live shows. He said solos are the hardest thing for him and I hope that evolves with the tour.

 

I think even if JF had stayed with the band, the sound would have been very different. He's so far into electronic music and stuff, that I can't imagine how that would have translated to RHCP.
