The best voices in music!

Featured Replies

my favourite singer definitely is

+ Maynard James Keenan

he is the leadsinger and songwriter of the bands TOOL and A Perfect Circle ... i LOVE his voice. it's so vulnerable and fragile but also very strong and violent. he is just amazing! you gotta listen to one of his songs!!! for example '3 Libras' ...

there's another good singer ... erm... his name was

+ Chris Martin

i love this guy's voice! i love it when he switches from the headvoice to the chest voice (like in 'crests of waves'). that bloke is an awesome singer!

i also like

+ Eddie Vedder

he is the leadsinger of pearl jam and his voice is so raspy and strong and powerful and energetic. i love his voice on 'alive'!

One female voice I don't like, against most people, is Fiona Apple. I think she sounds like a goat recorded with a poor mic.

The best voice I've ever heard:

Jónsi Birgisson of Sigur Rós.

I also like

Chris Martin

Björk

Bono

The lead singer of Kings of Convenience

Norah Jonnes

The singer of Egészséges Fejbõr (Hungarian band )

Not sure if anyone's heard of Sarah Kelly, be she's got a voice that just roars!! I love it, it's very strong. Other female voices out there that are amazing are Sarah Mclaughin, and Evanescenen girl does have a good voice. Mariah Carey is the WORST musician i've ever heard (just thought id clear that up).

For guys, David Gray is probably at the top for me. Other good voices:

Bono!!! incredible singer.

Jack Johnson

Raine Maida

Chris Martin

Brandon Flowers

Alex Kapranos

Josh Groban

Eric Clapton

Dave Matthews

Alicia Keys

Norah Jones
