Because my daughter Damaris Aubrey Fire Storm (23 months old) is obsessed with them.

Every day she`s singing her favourite songs (or what words she can remember at her age anyway) .... The Scientist, God put a...., Fix You.

As soon as she get`s up, she`s saying "watch Coldplay" or "watch Chris Martin?" (we have some music vids on dvd...), her favourite ones are The Scientist ("man walking backwards.... car crash!") and God Put a.... ("man crying, he`s alright").

We get home from somewhere.... "watch Chris Martin?". She has to watch the video`s at least a few times before she goes to bed at night. You know what babies are like... they watch a music video not once, but the same one 5 times in a row.

She an addict and it`s all Coldplay`s fault.

We even have to take her to the concert on July 7th (with earplugs of course), as we`d feel too guilty if we didn`t.

She was a big Seal fan until she started getting into Coldplay. She went to a Seal concert (Brighton) and met him (she was in the womb at the time, but was bopping along to all the music, and probably felt it when he touched my big bump as well).

But now.... it`s all Coldplay. Day and Night. Night and Day. At least it`s not death-metal she`s into I suppose :)

Awww!

Hehe, I find that insanely cute.

edit: welcome! by the way. :)

Awwww! That's too cute! "Watch Chris Martin? Coldplay?"

The guys would absolutly explode if they knew. :laugh3:

Welcome!

Funnily enough, I think she`s about the same age as Apple Martin, so I bet they get it alot worse than we do :)

Damaris has always been into music. Probably from going to some gigs before she was born, and performing at gigs myself (all as smoke free as possible of course). Plus we`ve always played cd`s on repeat when she`s in her cot. She`s never been as obsessed by a particular artist before though. I`ll try and get some video of her singing along to some coldplay songs... very funny to listen to a less-than-2-yr-old :) So cute is right.

*edit* I totally forgot... she`s already `sung` on a song herself.. the one I wrote about her: "Tonight". She was in the room when I sang it live.

She has a fascination with the `Scientist` video... loves to see Chris walking backwards, and get`s animated when the wrecked car shows up.... starts explaining to us what`s happened :) She was a bit scared of the end of `God put a...` video (cos the man is a tad upset), but we have explained that he`s only playing... he`s an actor, and it`s alright (hence her saying "man crying, it`s alright.." etc. She says alot when she`s not singing. Have tried to get her to watch things like Shrek, Disney etc but they bore her. She likes watching Coldplay, Fiona Apple, Seal, George Michael, Jackie Wilson etc. Just a music freak. I hope we get a chance to let her meet Coldplay in July... would make her year :)

awwwwwwww

that's so cuteeeeeeee

^^

Wow! your daughter is the coolest baby EVER! :laugh4:

and she's so cute :)

"man crying, it`s alright.." , "man walking backwards.... car crash!" awww

Cheers guys. Yeah she`s deadly cute (and far too intelligent for her age).

Alyssa, checked out your Deviantness.... great stuff! You should be hired by Coldplay to take shots on tour. Seriously. I`m also an amateur photographer (Canon EOS 350D), and your photo`s of the band are amazing. I thought you were an official photographer until I saw your comment about getting some good seats that time.

Aw wow, that's so cute! I can only hope my kid will turn out as obsessed!

Your daughter is so precious, by the way.. :nice: And welcome!

That is priceless! :laugh4: I hope your daughter will get to meet Coldplay, too. I think it would make not only her year, but theirs. :laugh4:

wow--thank you! :)

there's more here if you ever wanna take a look. :)

Heh, it'd be awesome to be one of the band's official photographers , right now I know there's quite a few people that can take much better pictures than I, but I've only been into photography since fall last year, so given time, I think I'll get a lot better (and have more fancy equipment, heh).

I'm sounding really cocky. :(

Realisticly--Coldplay will be an even bigger band by the time I can actually get my own job (or even have my driver's liscense), lol, and it would be insanely hard to be hired with photographers probably lining up at the baker's dozen to get the job.

Wow, I just said "baker's dozen". Where did that come from?

Annnddd, *stops ranting*.

cutest story ever! omg :nice:

That is absolutely one of the funniest things (in a positive way) I've ever read..sooo cute :nice: she has a great taste in music :)

What a cute story! Mandyleigh, your daughter is adorable...and she has excellent taste in music. :nice:

how cute is that! hahah i hope my kid can be as cool as that...Coldplay opposed to Barney...I'd take Coldplay anyday! that's too adorable :)

haha great great story also this thread has to contain the word "Cute" the most times ever!!! lol

I kinda have a similar story (not Coldplay related though) when my niece was about the same age and she used to stay in my house i had to always put on my mixed video tape for her.The songs she always wanted to hear were Sum 41 - Pain for Pleasure,The Strokes - Last Nite and the last one which she simply referred to as "Like You" was the Dandy Warhols - Bohemian Like You!!! she was certainly a rocking baby then! and by God it shows now!! lol

Cheers.

Bohs Man.

those eyes...my bro has the same color...where can I get them?They're lovely.And she's lovely

Maybe, but I think it probably has more to do with you than Coldplay!! After all - you're the one who exposed her to it!!;)

Love the original post that started this thread, and it's funny because my now 6 year old has been a Coldplay fan for years. She'll sing along with all her favorite Coldplay tunes (Fix You, Yellow, Don't Panic) She always grabs COldplay CD's when we head out on a long car trip and she goes nuts on here when I look at threads with Coldplay pictures. Her opinion of Chris with his madman hair was "he looks like Shirley Temple"

Something about the boys appeals to kids, think they can tell honest music when they hear it.

Cheers.
