research my ass....

you completely ignored my statement about Cuba lol

Yes yes.. we're one of the most if not the 'only' fully democratic country... but slowly our freedoms are being abolished.... can't you see that?

so, can someone explain to me that if the US so great with its open democracy and everything, why is Dubya allowed to issue over 700 signing statements, that basically allow him to reinterpret the bills how he alone sees fit?

First of all my parents havent fed me shit. please refrain from talking if you have no clue what you are talking about. me and my parents are complete opposites in every way, they have fed me nothing worth my time on these types of issues, my parents are idiots on social and political subjects.

Like i said were not totaly free, nor shall we or any country be, but out of all the nations we are one of the most free ones. we have more freedoms then the avarage human does. if you cannot see this you are a sad human. there are millions that would do anything to have the freedoms we have, because most of the world does not.

blah blah blah..... answer Kyle's question... we're all waiting with bated breath.

Because like i said there are flaws, but overall we are one of the most free nations with one of the best democracies. there will always be times like this when that happens, but all in all were one of the most free nations and one of the most blessed. try to use someone of the freedoms americans have in most nations, you'll find yourself dead or in jail.....

I have a question for you

If america is such a un-free nation and bad democracy how can we have thousands of people protest our leader over and over again and how can we have a man at whitehouse dinner bash the leader of this nation for 24 minutes to his face and get away with it?? hmmmm wonder why...

We have freedoms.

Why would we argue that? We're free people in many ways. WE'RE NOT THE ONLY FREE COUNTRY, THOUGH. People protest in A LOT OF OTHER COUNTRIES. They don't get their phones tapped though, they have a freedom we don't there. What's so special about America really? That we get to elect a new president once every four years, who's usually pretty shitty? That we have a corrupt government of people who can't ever come to a good decision for the people, but can make some really great deals for themselves. Yeah, we've got our comedy. We've got our books. We've got our music. But we have a far from perfect, for from great government ruling over us. And it's always been lacking in some way, it's nothing new.

I've had it with this country, people who want to wallow away in our governments propaganda and increasingly disturbing power can have it and rot for all I care. You keep your debates. I'm done, there's not any point to them anyways.

*really pissy today so this probably came out a lot harsher than I intended, but who cares*

You're fooling yourself if you think over nations dont have their phones tapped.

whats so special about america is there are not many nations as free as us. there a few nations that have a few more freedoms then us, but out of the the whole world, our nation and a few others are very unique. that what is special, a nation as free or more free then ours is very rare in the world.

EVERY goverent is corrupt, i never said we werent, but out of most the goverments in the world we are lucky to have ours. there a few other goverments but not many that are better then ours. i think people who think like camille should go live in a communist or facist nation and see what its like, and see how much more free we are then the average person of this world.

lmfao, I know that there are other countries getting their phones tapped! France, and much of Europe do. I read an article about that the other day. But MILLIONS of people being targetted??? Every day citizens who just might not have the ® next to their names in the voting booth getting particularly targetted (god help little ol' Socialist me!). Oh yes, people DIRECTLY ASSOCIATED with Al Queida should be watched, we have learned that after 9/11. But I don't plan on ever blowing anyone up, but I might speak out very strongly against certain aspects of our society. Does this warrent me no say in searches of my home or viewing of my phone records? Crazy. Where does the line get drawn?

I don't think ANYONE should EVER be made to live in a fascist society. Ever. So cut that shit out right now, it's not even funny or a good come back. That's just a horrible thing to say. Just because we think the government may be going to shit and we don't FEEL as free as we wish we might, it doesn't mean we deserve to go live in Iraq or should just get the hell out of America. Isn't that freeeeeeeedom, to say these things? :sneaky:

I, for one, would absolutely LOVE to see what a purely communist country is like, especially living in one. For me, I'd find that interesting. It'd give me an interesting alternate view to many things, I think. Sadly, there aren't any real communist countries left. :( Oh well.

It wasnt a comeback or meant to be funny. its obvious she has no clue how lucky we are to live in a nation as free as ours.

You obviously know her really well, don't you?

Or do you generalize people that easily?

I am very VERY VERY thankful that I was born in this country, and not born into poverty or any other dire circumstance. I am thankful that I have grown into the person that I am. Who do I thank for this? I don't really know, but I guess I would give the Founding Fathers big smooches for being the stepping stone to the wonderful society that we live in. Of course there are HUGE things that make me sick, and make me wish I had been born anywhere else, but... I'd be a different person. I do love my country, but not because of colors on a flag or a song that I sing or a person sitting in a chair on a hill in a white house. I don't love America because of that. I love it because it has helped shape me into who I am today.

I don't know who could disagree with that. I'm sure Camille would not.

Ive been debating with her on these subjects for almost a year now.

People like you, mrcool, let governments become corrupt.

I think you put a bit too much faith in our government--never put too faith in people in power. People in power are very, very unstable :freak:

It's good to give a little faith, but I will never completely trust the government... or anyone for that matter. Too many times in history countries and governments have fallen, taking their people with them. I'll always be skeptical, just because.

If I was a person of power, I don't think I'd be much different. Power corrupts... You have to be a very, very strong person not to let power corrupt you at all.

I advise you, mrcool, to start questioning your leaders a bit more. You argue for the government almost every chance you get, and I can prove that just by looking at this section of the forum and your post history, lol.

People like me that understand we need a goverment, and understand there needs to be a balance in it. like what america has now. because pure capitolism is evil and pure communism is evil. you need to find the right mix so it best protects and helps the people of that nation. and that is exactly what america has right now. the right amount of goverment. people like me keep the goverment from being corrupt.

I dont trust the goverment that much, and i would advise no one to completely trust the goverment. pure goverment is evil, without checks and balances.

i question my goverment, but theres a fine line between questioning it and wanting to find something wrong with every single thing it does.

If more people thought like you, there'd be utter chaos.

f more people thought like you, there'd be utter chaos.

Bullshit. She never said we don't need a government. Stop saying things to make everyone elses ideas sound like they're anarchists and you're the only sound mind around.

I was not talking about you, lol.

I know, I just felt a need to defend her.

I don't think not trusting the government is anarchist. Obviously you don't know what true anarchy is. Being skeptical and questioning things that affect our lives isn't ANARCHY. It's intelligent.
