 ..if England's gonna win against Portugal I'm not too sure they can do the same with Brazil or Spain, which I think would be their opponents in the semis

Nobody can be SURE, just as nobody can be sure who will win out of Germany and Argentina.

But anything is possible from now on.;)

That's because you clearly don't understand anything about "playing systems".;)

England won IN SPITE of the heat, so there is no issue there. I was merely pointing out that if you are unwell (as Beckham was BEFORE the match), playing in those temperatures will make you feel worse, as it did with him.

Therefore he had every reason to "throw up".;)

mhhh ... yeah, i have no clue and you're the smartest person on earth and you invented football ... yeah, right

Then you should be prepared to lose against Portugal as well as I'm prepared on the possibility to lose against Australia :laugh3:

who knows what will happen :uhoh2:

It's true. There are no guarantees at this stage of the competition. It's where the tournament REALLY starts.

Australia have a genuine chance. They have some good players.;)

The system worked and England pretty much controlled the game. Whether the system was "attractive" or not is open to debate, but it was effective nevertheless.

If we play someone remotely talented , we'll suffer.

I'm starting to hope England lose to Portugal on saturday..

At weekend I only saw Germany-Sweden and the German team played so good! :nice: I was very surprised and impressed at the same time. Podolski deserved it! He had some trouble with ARD at the moment, one of the channels in Germany, which is broadcasting the World Cup.

I'm so sorry for Sweden! I really like their team... :(

Hehe, at Italy-Australia the whole crowd in the stadium was just singing... "Ohne Holland fahr'n wir nach Berlin!" :P

:( I knew it..when Materazzi does something good in one match he will ruin the other :veryangry:

That was never a red card...

Italy has to add a little drama to it, don't they?

That was never a red card...
Really? I don't know cause I was not watching the match...even my friends told me it was not

anyway

GO ITALYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY :dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance:

Sometimes we can be lucky like the other teams

judges on this cup are unbelivingly awful, it's a cryin' shame for this kind of refree's to judge this kind of game,it's shocking:stunned:

woah I felt bad for australia.. I really thought this match was gonna end in penalties..

That was never a red card...

I'm sorry, but it most definitely was - it was a two-footed lunge, and that deserves a red card every time, as it can be a leg-breaker.;)

I don't agree with you! The Australian player was attacked, that's for sure! But first it wasn't a bad tackle (and remember yesterday's match) and second there was also another Italian player so he wasn't the last man. For me he deserved a yellow card. All experts and the commentator on TV also said it. ;)

Not on English TV. I saw a close-up. It was a horror tackle. People were sent off for that kind of tackle all last season in England, and it's right. Going in TWO-FOOTED, as he did, is illegal whether you get the ball or not, as it can result in serious injury. Whoever was talking about it on German TV has no idea, I'm afraid.

However, the Italian penalty was a joke, as the Italian player made sure he "fell" over Lucas Neil. Typical Italian performance, I'm afraid.;)

They're the masters at diving - I think they might even have invented it!:P

It wasn't red card, Materazzi deserved the yellow.......and the penalty it can be given, even if Grosso tried to find it

Anyway, we played a very bad match and Lippi got wrong all the substitutions......................

It was an ex-Swiss referee who said it was only a yellow card, so I think he's well informed. ;)

In that case I agree with you. For me it was never a penalty... It's sad that this scene was the most important one in that match! I'm sorry for Australia but anyway congratulations to Italy.

awwww, poor aussies.

they did such a good job during the world cup and then they got kicked out because of that stupid foul.
