Bright Eyes is an underground band, and thats kinda why I like them. They have a lot of CD's actually. I recommend them. If you wanna download a song just to see what there like, download 'A Perfect Sonnet', listen to the words closely. Its good stuff.

I thought Bright Eyes was just one guy Conor Oberst.

 

Anyhoo, I like him/them. I've downloaded a lot of their stuff. Looking into purchasing it.

 

I was surprised that they're American. Apparently Conor is dating the "Hollywood thief" Wynona Rider.

 

What is so great about her? SHe's been with almost every indie band singer.

Bright Eyes is alright. I'm not a big fan of Conor's voice, but I like the music. It takes some getting used to I think. Bright Eyes cancelled their Toronto show here.

wow, cancelled? i saw him/them in wisconsin, and it looked almost sold out.

Strangely enough, Chris Martin's voice and David Gray's voice both got on my nerves for a while before I learned to love them, but Conor Oberst's wretched warble was never an issue with me, though I admit most people would call it an acquired taste. If they were being polite. First time I listened to one of his songs though, I was stunned.

 

The song was False Advertising and it was so not what I expected from the lyric that had caught my eye in Rolling Stone ("fuck my face, fuck my name" was hard to ignore). It was such a weird waltzy thing, but I suspected Conor was a genius. And after buying his albums (and EPs), downloading what I couldn't buy and seeing him in concert, I'm convinced. So what if his voice isn't perfect? It's an incredibly emotive, visceral thing. Combine that with what he has to sing, the eloquence and unabashed honesty of his lyrics; it's a voice that's easy to believe. When you think about it, he does have the perfect voice for his sad bastard songs.

ok I love conor oberst for 5 years he is beautiful and extremely talented.

I listen alot to the Bright eyes. And I got to see them in San Diego.
