Does the ocean change your mood?

Featured Replies

I had my very first walk by the sea alone today and I can gladly say it was one of the greatest moments of my life. I sat down on the sand and stared at the ocean for a bit, then walked some more and sat down on some rocks even closer to the sea. that smell......lovely.

Yes! My favorite places in the world (besides the southwest) are Hawaii, Boston and Cape Cod almost entirely because of the ocean and the culture that revolves around it. Nothing like fresh seafood from right down the pier, or the salty smell that cleanes your sinuses. Ahhhh I love the ocean.

Definitely. I just went to the beach yesterday for the first time in months. Everytime I get around the ocean and it's vast expanse, I start feeling a little more humbled... reflective... It just has a strange effect on me, love it.

i haven't been to the beach for ... years now.

can't remember.

and i don't think it changed my mood when i was a little kid o.O

but i guess it would nowadays

Oh yeah definitely.. Austria doesn't have any beaches, unfortunately :P I spent one day at the beah in Italy a few weeks ago, but with the whole class, so it wasn't anything intimate and mood-changing.

But I remember my last, true summer holiday 3 years ago, where I was pissed off with my family and I was incredibly sad and in love and.. I sat down on the beach in the evening (I don't like the beach during the day, when the sun is hot and too many people are walking around), all on my own, reading a book and looking at the ocean.. Beautiful!

Yeah, absolutely...living next to the sea I feel that it does.....yesterday was at the beach: some fog had passed by, then it was a beautiful sunset and the sea looked calm and lovely.

Well... the sea does change my mood. And there are two possible ways:

1) being at a nice sandy beach with clear sea all around - this makes me feel good

2) being at a stony beach (possibly convered with concrete) with sea weed and algae on the surface... - not good. and this is what I usually see when I go at the seaside.

yup' date='of course when Chris lies on the beach:lol:[/quote']

Just thought I'd quote that.

The best is somewhat ruined for me because of the huge amount of tourists (and locals) at my beaches. Damn you all!

Oh my gosh, you live in Brighton, you lucky, lucky girl, I truly envy you! I saw pictures of this beautiful place and I wish I could live there.. It looks so happy and sunny and just wonderful :D

i love the sea side. i don't really like jellyfish, but they're oh-so squishy.

very relaxing and definitely a place for me to meditate or even just to sit down and write... I love the sound of the ocean.. especially when you get that breeze just right... and you take a nap on the sand.... ahhhhhhhhh! :nice:

yes, the ocean is the best place to be. For me, its a place where I can actually just sit, relax, and think. I can get away from the real world for a moment or two. Then at night on the beach, u can see millions of stars u wouldn't normally see.

Yeah, the beach at nightime is amazing. thats my favorite time at the beach, is a long walk at night, and then you can look at the stars and all. thats why the coldplay video yellow is my all time favorite music video.

It certainly does, lvoe the beach and the sunsets from there :P

Are you sure you arent a girl? just wondering :stunned:

the ocean doesnt change my mood, it never did and it never will

I don't know... I'm far from the ocean at the moment... but I do have a lake... but it doesn't affect me much... :D
