I haven't heard much more than his name about him.

I'll watch him first few and see how he looks.

Is he as good looking as Button? From a straight male perspective, Button is a very handsome man.

oh yeah, Jenson is really handsome.

prolly the best-looking man in the grid.

Lewis Hamilton is quite good-looking, too.

not my type, though, but i'm sure there's a lot of ladies that would hit on him...

f1-2007-gen-xp-0288.jpg

this is him... right next to his new team mate Fernando Alonso...

well, but that's just the british.;)

they're all good-looking.

you're a living proof. :wink3:

sally, i think they got rid of one german GP because first of all the amount of people watching f1 in germany will sink anyway (because michael left) and italy lost a race, too...so i guess that's actually the main reason. they also want to extend their racing calendar with more exotic races such as dubai and stuff..so boring european countries were kicked out.

:dozey:

Heh... I really don't know why I'm admitting this but... I had a huge crush on Jenson way back during his first year at F1. He was good looking and he was the first driver to reach F1 who was about my age. It didn't last very long though- there's something about him that kind of annoys me, although I'm not sure what. I've traditionally always rooted for the main British driver, but I'm more of a Coulthard fan.

Kimi does look a bit weird in red.

Well, this is the first year without shumi, the first year kimi races for Ferrari ,the first year Alonso races as a Mclaren man... everything just turns out to be strange to me. It's kinda like you've moved to a new house ,you find it hard to get used to it right away and you just cant help missing the old one.

^ well, the Honda doesn't seem to be able to win, but it's definitely got one of the coolest designs ever...

Does anyone else think that this is just a bit hypocritical though?

I mean, i know that they're claiming that their two cars are carbon neutral, but the amount of damage to the environment it must do to take 20 odd teams to 20 odd countries around the world must be enormous, suggesting that 2 cars is going to make any kind of difference is like suggesting that it's possible to use an eggcup to empty an ocean (altho i'm not entirely sure why you'd want to?!).

This seems like it's more about shameless self-promotion by Honda and less about any desire to make any kind of lasting difference to the planet, which a sport this wasteful should really be doing by now.

he look smuch better nowadays, but he does give the impression that he's more into the glamourous lifestyle than actually racing.

i know that's just such a superficial impression, but you always see him pop up at the EMA's and such events... and he's got houses in bahrain and monaco..and dunno... he hasn't been too successful yet.

Well the FIA claim that F1 has been carbon neutral since '97 (that includes all the petrol burnt by the cars as well as all the travel etc)

It does seem like Honda are doing the 'trendy' thing of being 'environmentally aware'. Personally i think it just happened to be a convenient solution for them because they were unable to find a new title sponsor. Only time will tell whether they are serious or not.

First qualifying. The season has begun. All the paint jobs have changed, though... I hardly recognized any of them! :stunned:

Hamilton has been quite the revelation so far.

yep he sure has. the aussie GP is in my city so we get the whole weekend live... and i live like 10km from the track (albert park) so you can occasionally hear the cars too :D

practices and qualikfying this arvo. great stuff to watch. and lewis hamilton. my god, what a freak. he got better times than alonso!

still the next best qualifier after kimi was almost 0.7 seconds behind.

and BMW suaber have both their drivers in the top 5. a great day. will definetly be watching tomorrow!

I had to vote for Kimi though I'm not a huge fan of unecessary car racing.

who was the first on the qualifying? Hamilton? :embarassed:

I couldn't watch it because it was too early for me, and now that I wanted to watch the repetition, I discover that they've changed the resolution on the TV station (now it is wide screen resolution) and I couldn't see the scores at all. I guess I'm doomed to the internet from now on... *sulks*

But I think that this season's gonna be interesting without Schumi and all these changes in the teams... :)

Here are the results: http://www.formula1.com/race/result/770/24.html

Kimi, Alonso, Heidfeld, Hamilton, and Kubica are the top 5.

Depending on your tv, you should be able to play around with the settings so that when something is broadcast in widescreen it puts the black bars on the top and bottom to fit the whole picture in the tv. It's funny though, I watched it live in HD on a widescreen tv, and it was broadcast regular screen. Kind of ticked me off.

AIIIII!!!

was worth watching it.

well, f1's always worth watching, but since we're in another time zone it was quite hard for some of us to get up, i suppose ;)

yaaay, kimi came out on top!!

hehe, he's tha man. lol.

i'm so freakin mad because of masse, though. >_<

both ferraris should've gone first row.

arrrr.

will be tough for felipe to fight through the grid. :(

but i'm sure he'll reach the points.

hoooooray! heidfeld made it to p3!

i'm amazed by the BMW sauber. great team. my second favourite one after ferrari.

hamilton seems to be pretty strong... he should beat alonso's arse. ahhh... how much i dislike that person.

whatever...

don't think that the Renaults are very competetive. they actually disappointed me.

just like the Hondas.

rubens didn't even make it to the second shoot out round. :dozey:

jenson's only 14th... mhhh... not good.

rather surprising that Mark Webber and Takuma Sato are in the top 10...

i mean, a super aguri ... :stunned: they've improved so much... well, nahhh... let's wait for the race tomorrow :)

Hmm. Hamilton seems to have done well.

Woo. I'm supporting him now. Button blames lots of stuff and talks alot.

I think my order of supporting now goes:

Hamilton

Button

Coulthard (hahahhahaa.... no seriously. he won't win - i'm just putting him here.)

and everyone else...

Poor Kubica! I thought he would've done well, but... And Hamilton really amazes me! Man, he'd never sit in a F1 single-seater before! Ferrari has done a great job! Kimi looks pretty cool in red!

Yay I'm so happy Kimi won! Great race. Usually I go to it every year because we have an apartment right across the road looking onto it but this year I couldn't!

I think they're talking about having it at nightime next year so that they can get more overseas viewers which would be good for some of you guys if they do :)

Well... our TV is almost 20 years old so I can't play with the settings... :/

However, I'm glad that Kimi won. And Hamilton; his score is great - first time in F1 and so good result? He's got some talent. ;)

watched the race live today.

i'm quite happy with the result. i wouldnt have expected heidfeld to become fourth even though his qualifying result was brilliant. so yeah very good season start for bmw sauber, looks like the futures very bright for them. i'm a bit disappointed that kubica couldnt finish the race but its still a very good result for the team.

nice to see hamilton on the podium, brilliant result in his first race.

räikönnen winnig the race and alonso becoming second isnt really a suprise, i thought they were favourite this season. still räikönnen did really well and definitely deserved the win.

looks like renault arent as good as they used to be. i know its too early to make any prediction but i suppose they seriously need to improve otherwise they wont have a chance to win the title.

is it just me thinking that McLaren obviously placed Alonso in front of Lewis?

seriously... i do not trust them.

Hamilton was better than Fernando most of the time and then suddenly...whatever.

they're not allowed to keep the trophies anyway :P

he did an amazing job for a rookie.

and yaaaaY!!!! KIMI WON!!!

i knew he was going to win it (hahaha :D), but the ferrari seems to be superb! :)

kinda weird to watch him walk up to jean todt to hug him. hehehe... he's gotta learn how to show his happiness a bit more... i mean, he's with ferrari now and everyone there#s got so much heart. hehehe. also an amazing job by massa to make it from the very last place to p 6 with only one stopp! :)

nick heidfeld...well, i've honestly expected more. he's obviously been on a worse strategy compared to kubica :(, but i'm sure BMW Sauber will prove that they're better than Renault over the season.

quite scary situation between coulthard and wurz... wurz was so damn lucky. :shocked2:

awww...and michael called right before jean and kimi went to the podium (perhaps you saw kimi with a mobile). soooo amazing... hehehe. <3 can't wait to see michael in barcelona :)

i hope the ferraris will prove how good they really are in malaysia in 3 () weeks. hehehe.

anything but a 1 2 win would be disappointing... :laugh3:

it would be kind of silly to make team orders before the first race though, wouldnt it. unless one of the divers michael schumacher... but even in that case, he could still get injured. team orders are generally not a good thing but then again, you cant really forbid them, can you?

anyway i'm glad hamilton finished third, which is a brilliant result. he really seems to be a huge talent and its good that theres finally a black driver in formula one. cant believe hes the first.

i agree but thats just the way räikönnen i, i suppose hes always been like that. thats why quite a few fans disliked him when he was still at sauber. he isnt a typical ferrari diver but he can do well for the team and if he does, hell probably be liked there anyway.

yeah i really think this is gonna be a good season for heidfeld and bmw sauber. becoming forth isnt bad after all, i somehow feared he might not finish the race [before the start] cant even say way. i'm glad he did.

haha funny picture.

Good race. Yay Kimi!

Glad to see that McLaren is back in top shape. And Hamilton has just earned himself a new fan here.
