[2007] Recommendation and discussion thread

Featured Replies

^ I downloaded the album but didn't really like it that much, but it wasn't horrible either. I think it is just when I saw them live they really dissapointed. They were opening up for U2. Their sound was just off, it sounded like alot of noise, but not good noise. If their sound levels were a little better I would have enjoyed them much more.

2007 is looking a good year and we're only in March/April!

We've already had great albums from Eluvium, Modest Mouse, EITS, The Arcade Fire and others.

All we need now is Radiohead :D

This album is highly recommended. Probably the best straight post-rock album of the year so far. Intense.

Bright Eyes - Cassadaga added

Leaked today/yesterday. I'm yet to hear this. Can't be that bad, I guess.

Kings of Leon - Because of the Times added

I didn't think that Aha Shake Heartbreak would have been able to top their debut (Youth & Young Manhood)' date=' but it did it, and the same with Because of the Times. True they ain't anything new, so I doubt that Pitchfork will go all wild over them, but it's old time rock 'n' roll.[/quote']

BRIGHT EYES!!!!!

BRILLIANT!

Thanks so much.... you've made my year!

PANDA BEAR - PERSON PITCH

aka Pet Sounds pt. 2

I think Robert Post has his 2nd album out this year. His debut was one of the best of 2005 in my view.

thanks Nik and burningmonk, i really appreciate it guys, i am checking them out right now  thanks!

edit - bros grew on me the second time round! and the crane wife album is pretty good

probably worth to mention...

the new NIN leaked (?) / was streamed somewhere (?)

haven't listened to it yet, some people say it sucks badly... don't know if i should give it a try or not

don't ..it sucks. Can you believe a band like NIN can go somewhat alternative radio rock?...well believe me when I tell you and keep far from it. :dozey:

HA! okay, i can imagine. so i'm not adding the album to the leaks then

ohh btw, i want to reccomend "Can - Tago Mago", on of the best psychedelic rock releases ever. it was released on 1971, so no, not a 2007 release:D.

but again, make sure you check out, it is amazing.

I recommend Prefab Sprout - Steve McQueen (Deluxe Edition).

my uncle has a cd coming out later this year. it is going to be his thrid album. it is entitled 'Racing Grey'. his name is steven mark. this is what it says on his website about him: Blending poetic introspective lyrics with sixties inspired musical arrangements and lush vocal harmonies, Steven Mark describes his sound as Elliott Smith meets early REM with a touch of Alice In Chains Unplugged.

please check his stuff out and give me your feedback, i'd really appreciate it
