So hard to narrow it down to a top 10 and put them in some order:

1 - The Who - Who's Next

2 - The Beach Boys - Pet Sounds

3 - The Beatles - Revolver

4 - Radiohead - Kid A

5 - Oasis - Be Here Now

6 - Nick Drake - Bryter Layter

7 - Stereophonics - Word Gets Around

8 - Sufjan Stevens - Come On Feel The Illinoise!

9 - Blur - Think Tank

10 - Prefab Sprout - Steve McQueen (also known as Two Wheels Good)

------------------

Although I can pretty much see what artists will make up the top 5 (Coldplay & Radiohead)

^ Wow, I'm surprised to see Be Here Now so high.

wow! i thought you'd never do a "top list". none the less, it's a very pleasant surprise ;)

I'll sort one out today.

I know I don't have 100 albums, and I can guarantee that every Chili Peppers albums will be somewhere, cause they all are some of my favourite albums. But I won't just list em off the bat, it'll be genuine.

Oh, and do live albums count?

No you can't include live albums or best of's. Glad to see you're doing a list. ;)

Yeah.

I'm getting annoyed at it though. Because I wouldn't say I have so many favourite albums. I get to about 20 and then start listing albums I enjoy but I wouldn't consider favourites.

I'm over it though. And cracking on :P

Mine is in the works

expecting your list then, Jack!

i probably shouldn't have "banned" the live albums, but oh well... next time ;)

Here's a sketch... basically all the albums that have had a chance to seep into my conciousness. There are so many others that I really love that belong on the list, but I don't own them and haven't heard them in awhile or sometimes in their entirety, so I wouldn't know where to rank them at all. I really don't know if I can rank just these ones though... it's complicated and changes all the time.

wow! i thought you'd never do a "top list". none the less, it's a very pleasant surprise ;)

It was hard narrowing down to make a top 10, I could never do a top 100 album list that I would be happy with.

^ Wow, I'm surprised to see Be Here Now so high.

It's mainly due to it's flow between tracks, I have the album on cassette tape which I used to listen to when coming back from gigs (before I got myself an iPod) and at other times in the car, and on day early morning when I was doing a taxi-run for my brother and his mates, it clicked me how the songs flowed into each other, you knew it was a new song but it sounded like a continuous loop. Be Here Now gets from beating from people for not being What's the story morning glory part 2, but still is a great album.

btw the best tool for compiling such lists is EXCEL

That makes me feel smart :D
