Well he is getting older.

But he looks older and stressed out. Not to mention that hair.

Idk, he could be stressed out- he has two kids and Coldplay's more popular than they've ever been nowadays...

Ya, I was wondering that too! A wife, two kids, and all those responsibilites.. That can really do a number on anyone.. Oh well, life get's complicated, and he's had a lot of travel and shows, so he's doing pretty well, all considering!. & Hey, at least he hasn't got a big pot belly like Elvis!:laugh3: (I think it's good to rest between life's major accomplishments, so maybe he could use a breather?)

some people here will definitely make fun or curse of us for making such a topics.

They think it is odd.

But i definitely agree that he changed that from Chris Martin in the beginning.

Means earlier ColdPlay days.

Those days are really greatest and memorable they will never come back again.

and also fans,and his habits....too....

he's becoming a bit of a prick is what's changed........

towards fans anyway. I do feel sorry for him about the way he's treated by the media. They should just leave him alone. I don't care what restaurant he's eaten in, what he's got written on his SHOES!, that he told such and such a person to fuck off........

I personally think that Chris should loosen up as far as the media is concerned, lol.

It's funny how during interviews he makes it sound as if it no big deal. I believe at one point he said he didn't mind it, but, when it actually happens he seems so bothered. These days moreso than in the past.

The stinky fat men that pretend to give a shit about him just to get a photo suck ass, but it comes as part of the package and he doesn't have it as bad as some people. He should just ignore them, a lot of other people do so.

If someone asks him a question about his wife, he doesn't have to get so mad. Gwyneth has no problem talking about him or her children, in fact the only time she shows reservation is when she thinks about Chris' reaction. "Well, my husband doesn't like me to talk about him..."

But otherwise, she's glad to and she has in TV interview and magazine interviews. All that does no harm. Loosen up Chris! No stress! lol All this going out of their way to not be seen together is a bit ridiculous. He's letting the paparazzi/media have more power over his life than they should. Personally speaking, it would annoy me if my boyfriend or whatever never wanted to be seen with me in public. In the end, all that may do more damage to him than the media will ever do.

He wasn't so uptight about it before, especially when he and Gwyneth first started dating. I guess it really got to him, but he shouldn't let it.

Anyway, of course he's changed. When Coldplay first came out he was barely in his 20s, now he's 30 years old with two children, a famous wife, and 1000x more fame. Was he supposed to stay the same dopey, easily embarassed, cute boy? lol People change according to their circumstances....celebrities aren't exempt from human laws.

I agree with you.

He lets medias have more and more power on him.

When they take pics and he reacts bad, he does exactly what the medias want him to do. And then, they can bring him down and saying bad things about him.

Funny that someone made this thread, because I was thinking the very same thing few months ago...

First I thought of how he evolved. Yes he became older, of course. He has a wife, kids... But not only.

Their gigs changed as well. I've never been to a Coldplay gig, but I already compared Live 2003 & Toronto.

I sometimes felt like it was two different bands.

Their gigs are less intimated.

I mean, I feel like Live 2003 had a different atmosphere. It's less... I'd say cold. They seem closer to the crowd.

In Toronto, they seem more out of reach.

Maybe I'm wrong... but well...

I guess we kept the image of Chris that he had at the beginning of Coldplay. It's the same for me. I still see Chris as the lovely, cute, shy guy from the early time of coldplay.

His life changed for good. He's happier now. But it seems that he lost something somewhere...

yea......I was leaning more towards being an as towards things......what was sed about him and gwenyth is absolutely right........I mean spend so much energy dodgin the media.......and gettin mad if someone ask u about ur wife......really isn't quite worth it. and I also read about the article where he was at a bar and he was being a real as to a women....and told her that she should get married it will make her a better person.......these celebrities have to understand no matter how much money u have we all are still human.....we are vulnerable to things.......money can't stop us from gettin sick u knw.........so u have to treat people on equal parts becos when everything is gone and done......there will be no more celebrities and who's rich and who's not........(sorry to make it spiritual) but anyway I was just sayin he's lookin more and more crazier like in the picture with ash, he looks like a crazed man.....lol I'm just hoping this new attitude of chris doesn't come into the studio time u knw with the band.....

he's becoming a bit of a prick is what's changed........

yeah. that's what made me lose adoration for them .

i do agree on the closer (2003) and cold (twisted logic 2005-6) gig. i don't think i'm looking at the same band. actually, i'm not. cp went from a small indie (panda records i think) band to comercial poppy band. huge sucess had something to do with it all i guess and what you get is not even a bit of emotion in concerts (i think this has to do with the fact they didn't had any satisfying -for them- recent songs that they enjoy as much with the previous records.)

i definitely think he's changed and become a bit too cocky sometimes and a bit too stressed out when it comes to the llittle things. and a bit too commercial. but so far none of the changes have made me love them any less (unless the quality of the music gets worse from here, but that will break my heart). but no one stays the same forever, especially when everyones looking at them, theyre an artist, they have 2 young kids, and a hugely famous wife. but i kind of miss the nerdy chris that acted so cute and worried all the time and dressed however he felt like rather than in all black all the time.

though i do have to say, im a fan of the longer hair. though not so much the beardy...

They all just need to say less, create powerful, alternative music and they'll be fine.

I think it's what the band really want to do but never seem to quite get around to it.

Musically, their early stuff was far more alternative - with slightly more unusual musical ideas - now (well, X&Y) it's all too predictable. Only a couple of songs from their last effort were even remotely moving in an exciting direction.

Look at all the good songs from the pre AROBTTH era that were either never recorded or were only ever b-sides.

Either Chirs and the boys turn it around now or they'll never gain the real respect that they should be able achieve.

I somewhat see why people say these sort of things, but I refuse to jump on the haters bandwagon. I adore Chris Martin and all the members of Coldplay. Love their music and them, and although X&Y may not have been the genius that AROBTHH was, I have faith that the future holds many gems from Coldplay. Let Chris and the band have some time to adjust to their fame. Chris also has to learn how to deal with the fame of his wife and everything that goes with that. He may not be handling it all too well right now at times, and maybe he can come off as big-headed prick, or whatever it is that fans are negatively reacting to. But, I still want to have faith that all will turn out OK over time. I'm sure the other guys give Chris a kick in the ass when he needs it! Coldplay and Chris have enough critics! Keep the faith!

i hope they' ll not change their kind of music with rap cause Chris has performed with a lots of singers of that kind like Jay-Z ( i can't stand this singer)

if they become like this i'll be despair, because Coldplay is my favourite band, the only one that i can listen to everyday, everywhere, and everytime

He's getting older like the rest of us...trying out different looks and musical styles. The only difference is that he's in the public eye so we notice every little change. He does look older lately, probably from all the touring. That can really take its toll on a person.

I'm still satisfied with their music as I treat everything they've ever done as a separate project.

I don't know if people realize that every artist or band that's ever had a big break always get the backlash for it later on. "Oh, they are sell-outs", "Oh they are too commercial", "Oh, they don't care about quality anymore."

It's always the same thing.

They became this popular because they are good artists. You can't stay an "indie" group when you have 32049023492304 fans on every corner of the world. They can't continue to release the same music either, because you know then people would start accusing them of being too safe and redundant. Good artists take risks and chances with their music...somtimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. But you never know until you go there.

He's happier now. But it seems that he lost something somewhere...

We don't know that he's happier now, he certainly doesn't have the attitude a lot of times of someone who is completely happy. I'm sure he has happier elements to his life, but he also has more critics (look at us! :laugh3:), more responsibility, more pressure...

I just hope he's been able to sort it out, he seems to be really moody and perhaps he's always been that way. I don't know, but I know he used to smile more, lol.

I don't really care as long he keeps creating good music with the rest of the band

I don't think anyone on this forum knows Chris well enough to know if he's changed personality-wise.

I don't think anyone on this forum knows Chris well enough to know if he's changed personality-wise.

When a celebrity has changed, their fans can always tell.

I don't think anyone on this forum knows Chris well enough to know if he's changed personality-wise.

Yeah you're right. What I care about is the way he treats fans. I've never met him but I have spoken to fans who have. More recently he seems to treat fans as nothing more than an annoyance....looking for a picture.....or an autograph.....

All I would want would be for him to take the time to realise what he and the band mean and have meant to me and to appreciate ME as a fan. Not someone he can't even look at when he speaks to me like I saw in the videos when he mets some of the fans in S.A.

I agree that changes have come about with the band and Chris Martin... their fame and lifestyles and public criticism, and all that comes with success. Chris seems to be hyper more these days... maybe he should do more yoga and meditation... but then again he has two small kids now and all the pressures of fatherhood. AS far as their style of music, well, to fill the CP void, I have been studying Karl Wallinger of World Party, a musical genius of three decades. He went through some trying times personally and businesswise with the great EMI company. So after he recovered from almost dying in 2001... he got his album catalogue back from EMI and started his own recording company and he is back doing what he wants to, when he wants to, how he wants to. I think that CP should follow in the same way and finish out their contract with EMI and get away from the corporate "pain in the ass" people... "corporations crush creativity" these days! Chris is an amazing artist and with many years ahead of him, so let him sort out his life, artistic, and business plans for the future! Take a deep breath and enjoy life, what is it all about? I will always love CP music! :)

I didn't create this thread to bring about haters........I created the thread to see if anyone else was noticing what I was noticing.........Chris looks more paranoid everytime I see a photo shot.....lol I have no problem with the music......I just want the band to be ok......if one member is gettin alil out there that can do a lot to the band itself.........thas all I want is for the band to be okay.......usually when I have these feelings their right........so I hope someone close 2 the band sees this and lets em knw that the fans r worried and they just want things to be ok especially myself.....they have done a lot for me mentally
