From Europe you have the 9 group winners, with the 8 best runner-ups (they remove the games the runner-ups play against the teams which foot the table, apart in the final group). Those 8 best runner-ups go into a play-off.

 

If you think Uefa has got it back, think of Oceania to get to the world cup they have to become the best team out of the group and win 3 more matches, 2 against fellow Oceania teams and 1 against the 4th place south American team

I was talking about drawing a major team like Italy.

I think England will count themselves very lucky - of the last 6 teams to be drawn from pot 1, five of them were Italy, France, Germany, Spain and Holland. The other just happened to be the "easiest" of the lot - Croatia!

I would have preferred to have drawn Greece

Last Saturday I watched Liechtenstein - Germany (0:6) and when they played the national anthem of Liechtenstein I was like WTF! :o It's the melody of "God Save The Queen" but with a German text instead of an English one. So funny! I didn't know that before. :D

Very brutal game, isn't it? The attack against Cole was unbelievable. When Cole fell down I thought he's doing the dead swan, but then it looked like he seemed to lose his consciousness. :(
