Hi, I don't know if you have heard about this European Exchange Programme before.

I think that if you has done it, are doing it or planning to do it, we can share the experience on this thread.

Right now i'm doing it in Portugal, for 9 months. When i finish my degree i want to do a second one, and go on the last year to Italy. :cool4:

For those who need info about it here it goes:

I'm there, sorry but the pics have many people on them, so it'll be a bit like Where is Wally to find.

Hey hey, next saturday, all Erasmus (like 20 people) are going to visit Guimaraes the whole day. :cool4:

i think its a very good thing to do, living in a country helps you a lot to improve your language skills. however i'm probaly not gonna do it because i dont wanna leave liverpool.

I'm planning to do it next year, I'd like to go to the UK or to Germany. I'm sure it could be an amazing experience as well as, as Sal said, it would help me a lot and I'd feel for real what being independent is. I'd do it basically for personal and language skills purposes, not for academic ones, though.

The thing is that... I'm so concerned about feeling alone, or a possible failure if you know what I mean.

come to liverpool, you wont feel alone here

i imagine germany would be really hard if you cant speak the language :\

haha

I talked with a mate of mine who did this Erasmus thingy in Germany and her German wasn't that great and she didn't have too many probs. She spoke Eng all the time while learning a bit of German at the same time.

well, of course I would go to a college in which lessons are given in English. I wouldnt be that crazy.

i see! i thought all lectures in germany were in german unless you study a foreign language. sounds like a good idea...

Here to relate with other erasmus students we speak in english almos all the time...

sometimes the spanish speak spanish and portuguese portuguese, so i have to translate to other erasmus what do they say :p that's fun.

a friend has done two eramus, one in france and the other in liverpool :cool4:

well i think that attend lectures in german will be complicated if you don't know the language, in my case is not so complicated to follow them in portuguese, as also came from latin ... that's why i'm thinking to do a second erasmus in Italy. :)

about feeling alone, i don't think so, with internet you can keep in contact with your friends in spain, and i sure you, we have many activities, so you won't feel alone or bored. :)

Ah, i most probably will do something like this "Erasmus" thing later on.

I have no idea where to go or so, but i'd really love to go study abroad for a while!

Yeah, i'd do it more for language skills as well. And of course it helps with the studies too and hey, it's a great experience as well!

Myeah, i'm just one of those people who want to do a lot of things but then when i should make the choice whether to go or not i just can't do it. So we'll see.. i'd love to go but i don't want to be left out and feel lonely and depressed..:\

I guess i'd become way more social if i really went there.. That's the only way to survive, hah.

Oh btw Ari, i can spot you! You look good athough i can't really see your face :P

I'd love to do something like that... maybe in Spain or UK.. but I guess it's too expensive... and I don't know.. I'd miss home I guess...:uhoh:

Well yeah for you it's even more wacko! To come to Europe and all, whoa.. I think it would be cool to go to Australia though :P But it's so far away boo.

@ rolle: what worth is the experience itself, be more open-minded, more than the studies itself, you will learn to be more independant.

lol i appear on other pics but as i am not as tall as the other people there's always a bloke in front of me  thanks :nice:

@ lore: i think that there are scholarships and exchange programmes to come from America to Europe and vice versa.

I'm doing it, is not that expensive as i though, although the country where i am in, is not expensive.. and thanks to the scholarship (which i haven't got yet anything of it...)

btw i'll post more pics soon, of the trip to Guimaraes. :nice:

yeahh i'm too far from Europe :( ...

well... there's a lot of european students at my uni now...

i probably wouldnt go to a european country if i were to do it but i dont think i will. you really get the chance to go home anyway so its more about the fact that the flight might be rather expensive.

How's it goin' my fellow Liverpool Coldplaying dweller :D

Hi, I would love to know how you applied to it and how the programme works. I'm very interested in doing in it. A couple of friends who live in Spain told me about it, and I quite don't get how everything works, I don't know if you understand what I mean. If I need to be qualified in some sort of thing, or something like that. Also the scolarship and which things you have to afford by yourself. Thanx!!

i guess that you are spanish?

you must have first year approved, at least the 75% of the subjects. you should inform about it in the university that you are attending now, in international relationship office. they have a lot of information about it. the place to go variates depending what is your degree. in my uni website on that secion (international relationship) they have the links of unis where we can go, so i surfed on them on my degree and got the subjects that i can study there. so I.R. give you the docs that you have to fill in, they get some docs from the receiving uni that you have to fill in, they send it, and you must get a confirmation letter, during the year there are some talks about this thing.. the scholarship for me, is in 3 parts, like they give you money each semester, at the end of semester. a friend told me that it variates from one uni to another.

long process i have to say, i started it in february last year, if i'm not mistaken.

i warn you, the rules for that has changed from last year to the present one, so may be for next year it will change again.

anyways in the international relationship of your uni they can give you more info about it.

where would you like to go? what are you studying?

Thank you so much! I'm actually Argentinian-Italian, and I'm studying in Argentina right now. I'm taking two different courses. This year I'm graduating in the Performing Arts School, and I still have two years left in Film Making. I love them both, so It doesn't matter which one I'm able to apply to. The thing is that I think it's quite different for me since i'm not at a European school. I'll have to do a thorough research. I'd love to go same place in the UK. Anyway, thank you so much, it's been really helpful.

wow two degrees, that's great. well in that case may be you should ask about Programa Carolina, is the only one i know that is for spanish and latin american people. i don't know more info about this program.. (what i've sen on their website, is for mexican, argentinian, and colombian people to come to Spain) you should go to the I.R. as i told you and ask for more info about it.

surely with that degree you could go to UK, good luck. ;)

in Spain for Film Making (i think that is the same for the other degree that you are doing) you can come to Barcelona and Madrid i think, not sure if may be also to Alicante.
