saw this last night for the first time, what an amazing film, the joker was the standout character in the film, when he wasent on screen i was thinking when if he going to turn up again! great dialogue for the film throughout for everyone. i loved everything about the joker, the voice, dialogue, the whole physical image, etc. its just terrible that ledger is not alive to be able to receive the praise for doing this role. and indeed terrible that he cannot go on to play more interesting and challenging characters in future films. he proved he could do it here, and of course in brokeback mountain.

Gah, I envy you so much right now. If only there was an IMAX in my area. :\

Also, has anyone been keeping up with the box office numbers TDK has been racking up? It's literally blowing every record out of the water -

$222,150,806 million in tow after only 6 days of release!

Put it this way - it bested the 7-day opening record after only being released for 5 days!!

It's incredible what this film is doing right now. If it has the adequate legs, there could even be a chance that it tops Titanic's final tally. Only time will tell.

The dark knight took more money in the first 3 days than Batman Begins took in the first 5 months!!! :stunned:

God I want to see it again.

his movie was so good... i've already seen it twice and honestly i definetly want to see it at least another 2 times... heath's perfromance of the joker is just amazing and he should really win an award for his performance. I mean to see how good he was at being the character is just seeing an interview of his, you can tell how big a difference there is between his real life self and his character

I saw it on Thursday and it was amazing. The cinema was full, everybody laughing and clapping at all of Heath Ledger's amazing parts in the film, everyone clapped at the end too. Great atmosphere, great film. I too am depressed that we'll never see Heath Ledger play some more creepy, scary roles. What a fine actor. Morgan Freeman... what a dude he is, he was excellent too.

IT. WAS. EFFING. AWESOME.

I have so much respect for Heath Ledger now... he played the Joker brilliantly, and there wasn't a single flaw in his acting. Wow. It was just... fantastic. Best movie I've seen in a while.

I saw this film for the first time yesterday and it was completely AWESOME. The Joker absolutely stole the show, the whole audience even applauded at two parts:

When The Joker did his "magic trick" near the start of the film, which was just epic!!! ROFL!!   and when he was captured by the police.

I may have not really been a big Heath Ledger fan or know much about him, but that was still one of the most incredible performances i've seen for a long time. Best villian EVER D

Everything else about the film was pretty much perfect too really imo, brilliant performances all round, non-stop action and explosions, great script... Just a masterpiece.

Im going to see it again in an hour:D:D:D

It doesn't happen too often that I want to see the same movie in the cinema twice, but I really want to see TDK again...

That's a really, really good sign :)

Who do you guys think the main villain will be in the 3rd movie? They are making a third movie right?

Yes, and Two-Face.

Yes, I think a combo like with Spider-Man 3. Maybe Penguin and Riddler together.

Yes, and Two-Face.

You havent seen Dark Knight yet, have you?:dozey:

Yes, I've seen it.

Two-Face isn't dead. Aaron Eckhart, who played Two-Face, has already announced that he'll be back for the third movie. The third film was originally supposed to revolve around the Joker as well, but then Heath Ledger had to go and Heath Ledger himself. The scene near the end wasn't Two-Face's funeral, it was Harvey Dent's.

Are you certain about this? Have you got a link where Eckhart said that he would be back for the 3rd one?

By the way, I saw it twice in 2 days, and I loved it. Make sure you see it in a good cinema though, with LOUD speakers, because the first time I saw it the sound was pretty low. And it was quite hard to hear what the characters were saying sometimes. If you're in the UK, go to a 'Vue' cinema.

Yes, I've seen it.

I dont know, that seems pretty far fetched. I need to see some proof.

I saw it again :wacky: you get a little more out of it each time methinks

There's the link. Sorry, it had been a few days since I saw the article, he didn't say that he absolutely WILL be in the next movie, but if they offer him the role of Two-Face again, then he'll be back. So for him to even entertain the idea of coming back, Two-Face probably must still be alive. Does anyone remember what he fell from? I read somewhere that it wasn't that high, and that Batman fell from the same distance and survived, but I don't remember.

I heard that the riddler is going to be in the third movie, that came from christopher nolan himself, there's an interview on youtube I saw yesterday, Johnny Depp is being widely rumored as having signed on already to play him.

If two face is the next villain I don't think the movie will better this one,

because we've alreasy seen him in the dark knight, there's no mystery as to what he'll be like and stuff like that. The main reason for this movies huge success over batman begins is that everybody wanted to see heath Ledgers Joker that everyone was talking about.

While doing press for The Dark Knight, Gary Oldman (Lt. James Gordon) alluded that the Riddler could be the villain in the proposed third film.

So yes, I guess that will be true.

I prefer The Riddler to the likes of The Penguin and Catwoman (also rumoured) myself.

Jim Carrey did an ok job in the average Batman Forever (2005), but I'm certain its character can and will be bettered by Nolan.

The Riddler is kinda like The Joker, though not as 'demonic' as some like to refer to him.

The Penguin is ok, but I kinda hate the fact that he always carries umbrellas with gadgets around. That's just silly and not really in Nolan's league. I think I've read a quote from Nolan somewhere that he doesn't have the intention of adding a Penguin storyline to his Batman series.

I really hope Nolan will ditch the idea of using the Catwoman character, though she's obviously one of Batman's most well-known opponents.

But I think we've seen too much of her already, especially thanks to the horrific 2004 Halle Berry adaption.

Bane would be cool. Its character appeared in Batman & Robin, but Joel Schumacher really f*cked up that movie, including all characters in it (especially Bane).

Or Black Mask, but I guess he's not too well-known in the villains list, is he?

Nolan could also use Harley Quinn, The Joker's most famous accomplice. But that means Nolan will have to get himself another Joker for the 3rd film.

But yeah, I prefer The Riddler myself.

And The Joker, but only if they can find the right person to follow-up Heath Ledger's amazing performance.

Trust me, hes not coming back. Batman survived the fall cuz of his thick body suit, he can take a harder fall. They gave Harvey/Two-Face a funeral at the end. He's dead. All it said was that he would come back if it was possible but it really isnt. That article was more of him just saying how much fun it was to work on the movie.
