Who's buying LP4?

Featured Replies

The title's stupid, because I know at least 99.9% of the people on this forum will buy their 4th album.

But I want to know HOW you're going to get it. Digitally (iTunes, etc.) or are all of you going to run out and buy the actual CD?

Personally, im leaning towards buying the digital album. iTunes lets you pre-order :D so i can download it at midnight on the day of it's release. haha. And CDs go through all of that wear and tear and etc, so....

I hope that doesn't make me less of a Coldplay fan. :P

Well, I never download

any song for coldplay before, because I like to buy the actual album for them...

So, for sure I'm going to run out and buy the actual CD...

I can't wait to buy it...

i like having the cd... i don't know why, but it just seems a lot better than just downloading it.

I like the getting the album. You get to look into the sleeves then. And like, yeh. It has I duno, more authenticity about it.

But I'm glad you still buy it when you download it. As long as well all give the guys the money for their efforts.

I will buy the Cd,oh and the title of this thread is rather silly, given that it's a Coldplay board..:p

I will by a physical copy of the CD. If the iTunes version has bonus material, I might think about buying that too lol.

Sometimes I buy an online version if it's the only way. But if I can I'm buying the CD.

I'm buying it as a CD, I always do. There's even stuff I have bought digitally that I now want in CD form...

And speaking of wear and tear on the Cds...my poor X&Y case is falling apart :bigcry:. It came with a CD and a Bonus DVD and the thing that holds the CD has broken, so now the case is tucked away and I don't plan on grabbing soon :bigcry:

I'll buy the cd

Have you ever visited the lounge? There are many people here who don't even like Coldplay.

I'll buy the actual CD, can't get the band to sign your download. :P

Of course I'd get the album!!! Coldplay for life!! :D

I won't pre-order, just buy on the week of release, as when X&Y was released the supermarkets were selling it on the cheap, cheaper than many online places.

i will definately buy a hard copy... my question is if i pre order it on amazon.com will i get it the day it comes out?

Depends on what amazon.com is like with postage, if it's like amazon.co.uk, than you will get it on the first day if you pay for postage.

because i'm a total geek, i already have this all planned out. :smart:

i'm going to preorder it on itunes so i can download it the second it becomes available. i'll listen to that all night, and then the first chance i get (meaning the next day) i'm going out to target or wherever and buying the physical CD. i much rather have the physical release; there's just something about having a tangible piece of work thats so much more satisfying. but i could NOT wait until its on the shelves like, 10 hours after it comes out. those 10 hours between midnight and when the stores open would make me crazy, knowing it's available for listening but i'm not listening to it!

and i always always always buy the album on vinyl as well if/when it's available. i find that vinyl record albums are SOO much cooler than plain old CDs, and there's more of an...exciteable rush with them. so as long as theyre releasing it on vinyl as well (they've done it with all their others), i'm getting that ASAP as well.

Firstly I'll download the leaked LP (like any good webmaster should) then I'll buy the LP from the shops (or online), then I'll get given several copies for the site that I don't need, give them all away through coldplaying competitions and when all that's done I'll go to the concerts.

Just like AROBTTH.

So are you going to download it if it leaks?

if it leaks, i must admit that i would download it. i would never be able to resist, knowing that i COULD be listening to it. but i wouldnt feel too too bad about it because i know i personally would drefinitely still spend the money on the CD and vinyl anyway, so theyre at least not losing any money from me. but for their sake, i really hope it doesnt leak because it lessens the whole experience of the thing on both ends, and it probably loses them a bit of money.

though because guilt is my middle name, yes i would feel bad about it. though i think my love and excitement would outweigh the guilt in this case :sneaky:

That's if there is an actual CD :sneaky:

Well, they did mention cover artwork, so I'm guessing there is.

I'd love to get the vinyls, but I need a record player first!

I'm going to wait until it comes out in stores, go to a store, and be very upset if it's already sold out. But if things go according to plan, I'll own a physical copy of the CD on the day of release.

That's if there is an actual CD :sneaky:

i kind of hope this is the way that the tide of the record business is turning. well, not so much not having a physical release (though i'd be perfectly happy if CDs were phased out almost entirely and everything was a digital release accompanied by a vinyl record album), but i'm kind of hoping that radiohead has set the new norm by self-releasing their work online without the use of record companies. i think that was brilliant. and practical, frankly.

of course it would also be nice if consumers could always set their own prices for the work, but i dont expect that to happen
