Do you think there will be a song leak this time around, as was the case with the alternate take on Talk in March 2005?

 

Also, out of curiosity, did anyone figure out how that version of Talk (which easily should have been the album version) became leaked in the first place?

i'm sure as song we'll be leaked. In today's time with all of the internet sources, i would be surprised if they didn't

^i dont know whether or not i think there will be a leak. they try so hard to protect these things, and while there is a very good chance of leaks, there are entire teams of people whose job it is to guard unreleased music. while lots and lots of things are leaked, lots aren't. it could go either way.

 

but in the event of a song leak, i WILL be downloading. i just dont have the patience or the willpower to protest because its the right thing to do. it wont stop me from buying the album, so i dont see the harm in it.

i want to wait when the entire cd comes out..

I think there will definately be a leak. Once it hits the cd hits the warehouses like a week before release there's bound to be a few people pinching it :wink3:

I don't see why they don't release it online first. It'd be harder for anything to be leaked if it went straight to iTunes or whatever.

I don't know how "Talk" was leaked. I'm guessing it may've been done on purpose. They must've known they weren't going to put that version on the record then and it seems a bit strange than just one song leaked. It also created a bit of buzz.

I'm not sure if a song will be leaked, considering that they don't actually give very detailed information on the album (I'm not complaining about the Prospekt's entries, not at all!). Anyway, I think I'll just listen to the songs when a release date is set.

I won't be listening to any leaked song before the album comes out. I don't care if the audio becomes the #1 video on you-tube, I have too much respect for the band to participate in something they didn't want to happen. I also believe that listening to a leaked track will affect the way I look at the album. The track will feel completely different in the context of the album because I've heard it on it's own before. I want to experience the album the way it was intended to be experienced from front-to-back. I don't want to get all the way to the last track and know what it's going to sound like...it will only feel underwhelming and anti-climactic because I'm expecting it. no, I want every second of "42" to be completely fresh.

Anyway, I also agree with that post! I want to experience the band's vision of what the album should sound like first. Of course, I'll listen to any alternate versions that hit the web after the album's out. I enjoyed Talk, but it was after I heard all of X&Y.

 

Will there be a leak? More than likely.

I hope there isnt but part of me wants there to be because its driving me CRAZY that i dont even know the release date yet. Im goin insane!!!!

Very likely to happen. If Coldplay ish right with their "it's going to be an awesome album"-esque statement, then people will be on their toes trying to look out for it for leaking.

It would actually be a lot easier to get a leak of something that is online opposed to something sitting on someones desk, but as always I hope there's a leak. Why?

 

Im not at all disappointed with the band but its been three years... I will listen to a leaked track and im going to buy the CD anyways. I'm not going to have that feeling in me that says "Oh I'm so good, im not going to disappoint the band and listen too their new track" Who cares... it happens with every cd that has come out since the internet

Of course there's going to be a song leaked! They are considering giving one away.....:thinking: The idea of it it's making me smile..:D

Lol. yeah, I've put a lot of stock into the title being "42". I've argued my case many times before and I'm 97.6% sure that's going to be the title.
