The 'I can't stand how fake Hannah Montana is' thread

Featured Replies

don't dislike the fact that kids look up ot her. at this point she's done nothing wrong in her career and we can hope she doesn't in the futer.

lol. I guess this post is out of date now!

I just think she's cheesey as hell, but as was said, it's a kids' show. What do you expect? Not exactly classic Disney though.

Gotta love her new look.;):P

Cobalt's right. I'm talking about the Annie Liebowitz photo shoot that's caused so much controversy. Doesn't bother me personally, but I know some parents who would consider it a bad career move, lol.

If things continue this way expect another Britney/Lindsay/Paris-type star...

Is it bad to say that in that photograph where she is 'topless' she is beautiful.

I wouldn't say no if she was a bit older

I used to like her because she seemed like a genuine person who had strong morals. Now I look at her and her dad and shake my head in disappointment. She had such an opportunity to be a good role model for kids and a strong witness for Christ but she blew it. My little sister has pretty much lost interest in her, which I can't say I'm disappointed about.

The picture of her and her dad was just creepy. The topless picture was scary and weird but that picture's even worse I think.

People need to calm down. Again, none of those photos were "X-rated". None had any REAL nudity and people just overreact. Any other teenage girl wouldnt get in trouble for taking some pics with friends, so why should she? She was pressured into doing those Vanity Fair pics and regrets them anyway.

Plus, think about this: The people making up stories about her growing up too fast and bringing out the bad side are paparazzi and celebrity magazines. Their job is to creat the most interesting and best-selling story, not the most truthful one. They are making a big deal out of all this because it makes sales, so don't buy into everything you hear on E! or read in Us Weekly.

And what's the difference between her and the Spears sisters? From what Ive heard, theyre parents were never around so they were left to experience everything alone. Miley Cyrus is always with her parents from what every source says, and they wont let her turn into Britney Spears. Now I'm getting tired of defending a Disney Channel actor, and this thread is really starting to annoy me.

It really is silly, isn't it? We have much higher expectations of our celebrities than of 'normal' people.

David: I guess she wouldn't have shown off her body if she didn't want people to look, so I don't see anything wrong with saying she's beautiful.

I think almost all things Disney are evil, lol, so I'm not spending another second in this thread, lol.

well, before the photoshoot there were other pictures of her out with her pulling down her shirt to show her bra doing a sexy pose and then she was lying on top of a guy with her shirt pulled up, showing her stomach and he had his hand on her waist. those disturbed me a pretty good bit, but these were a little too much.

I wish if she were going to do shoots like this that she was a little older, since she is a role model for young girls, but unfortunately, we just can't expect our celebrities to be more perfect than everyone else.

True Trace... she shouldn't particularly be doing these at 15, though, especially seeing how many young girls hold her in high regard. If she talks about herself as being such a role model and being a good Christian girl (more the latter from what I heard), she should follow it instead of going off and doing something else like the Vanity Fair photoshoot.

It's a shame so many female celebs start being idolized by young girls and then they get pressured into these things.

Speaking of overreacting, 2732... :dozey: (I wasn't being totally serious when I said "x-rated" thus why my message was in lower case, captain obvious)

Is it just me, or does anybody else think that the 'controversy' was blown a little out of proportion? Granted, I don't know anything about Miley Cyrus (other than she's a star on a kids TV show), but the one photo I saw wasn't x-rated, she wasn't topless like everyone is saying (all the photo showed was her back.) The photo with her dad was very creepy, but she wasn't showing anything in it, either. Why is everyone going nuts over this?

I dont see why the pic with her and her dad was creepy. I think people who are creeped out by pics like that are just uncomfortable people. I think its great that a teen could be so close with their parent.

It wasn't the closeness, it was the way they were portrayed. It looked like Billy Ray was her lover, not her father.

Ugh, I cant believe this thread has caused so much chaos!

Honestly, I'm torn on the whole issue. Like I said, I don't want 15 year old girls being hyper-sexualized, but she's human and can do whatever she likes. Not really a big deal, but a little worrysome. I think about all the pressures on young girls to look a certain way and fit in, and I wish young female stars wouldn't feed that, but on the other hand...UGH!

AGain though, I think all things Disney are pretty much evil, so I should keep my nose out of this one. (Before ppl start throwing eggs at me, there is some good Disney out there, but I'm not a fan of what it's become, and I doubt Walt Disney would be either...but that's another topic.)

You see that little thumbs down symbol next to where it says "offline"?

If you hit that, fill in the little form saying something along the lines of "spam", it will alert the mods, who can deal with it. ;)
