ColdplayCold
What really pisses me off about other people is when they say that Coldplay suck. coldplay is the best band that we have today. their melodies are one of a kind, their lyrics are the best and you can actually understand every word that they are saying in each of their songs. when people say that Panic! at the disco and bands like that are the best i feel like rocking them. i know that everyone has a different genre of music and they may of never hear any of coldplays songs but dont say they suck then. one last thing. when people say that coldplay is gay that pisses me off the most. first of all 3/4 of them are married and guy just divorced. i hate to admit that i like coldplay sometimes because people say they are gay. someone please tell me that im right about all of this. Fixed
Yeah you're not alone. It annoys me when people think a certain way about a band I like, especially Coldplay!, when you can tell they have probably heard 1 song by them and judged them entirely on that one song. But I (sort of) respect people's opinions and live happy in the knowledge that I can go to my bedroom and entertain myself with Yellow while said person that dissed Coldplay will never (unless they convert to being a Coldplayer) be able to appreciate the beauty of Ode To Deodorant and other such joyous tunes :P
Space Cadet
Don't care. I usually smile and nod and agree that I can see why the other person doesn't like them (nothing like a record company cramming them down people's throats to force all the haters to revolt rather than ignore) but that I like them anyway because they mean something special to me. And then I change the subject back to music that the person does like. It's an old geek trick for when that person you're chatting to actually can't stand people who like to talk about Star Wars or whatever- find common ground. Makes life happier. And why on earth do you care what an emo thinks anyway? They have some of the worst music taste on the planet.

ColdplayBirdsFly
Coldplay diss-ers Am I the only one who found this phrase vaguely dirty? Ok, ok. This might mean its gone way past my bedtime. ^ haha, no you're not the only one because i thought something weird too! :laugh3: I now figure ColdplayCold must mean "felt like socking them" or something. Well, it must be bedtime then.... :D To ColdplayCold = Welcome to the board. Well you just have to grow a tough skin towards people who pick on Coldplay. Sad to say it, but those people seem to pop up EVERYWHERE! But there are some souls who appreciate the band's music. Treasure those people! That's why there's the coldplaying message board :)
ApproximatelyInfinite
it bothers me a tiny bit, but only because i feel that those people picking on them are missing out. and because they're so close-minded that they can't fathom anyone being interested in something beautiful and nice and worthwhile. but i don't know, i just don't get mad at all really. i just tend not to get angry at things like this in general. i'm more of a "to each their own" person. i don't really make a huge deal about me loving coldplay just so i'm not inviting the hating, but when it comes up i just state that i love them for reasons other people couldn't really understand and i don't pick on their music so they might as well not pick on mine. case closed. there are much more important things to get angry about than who likes what bands. CRYSTAL
i some how tell my opinion today, well people not only coldplay if they're married yeah that just happens with any one in this world, whether they're married living happy life or else divorced or any other furthur problems. But yeah this is most common in the world. and......if you live life single too well way back days before they were all married then also nothing changed like liking them or not,or hating them for some reasons or whatever. But the things are always the same never changed and also will not change. The only thing that changed is they all got married and have got more noticed in the world than before they were. that's all and its nothing special i mean here getting married, having kids, raising them up,for that taking your time these are all common in the world and everyone must have to go through it at some or some point in life. and about calling gays i have seen many cases than Coldplay and they're all just friends not gays.Chris just makes some funny jokes always so he says like that. But it is not true any more. And i don't understand him like that.
Bonus_mosher
I know thats why their emo. wearing some nut hugger pants. Two things. 1) I agree with the original statement of your thread, It seem's all my friends are against coldplay, nothing good to say about them, which kinda get's me down, then again, music is the most opinionated thing ever. I used to study music in a class of about 40 metalheads, so obviously they used to grief me alot if I went in sporting my coldplay shirt. 2) I get called emo alot, I wear skinny jeans, I wear vans and have longish hair I guess. But Coldplay are still my favourite band, Chris martin has been idolistic all the way through my teen years and up until this day. So on that note, I don't think it's right for you to stereotype "Emo's" as people who listen to Panic! at the disco. (upon reflection, I can't stand them) Just a head's up. I voted yes, obviously lol. :)
The Mad Hatter
I just don't care. People have their opinions. It doesn't even make me mad if they talk about how Coldplay are gay or whatever. Sometimes I even laugh, because I've heard it all before. It's not that big of a deal to me.
StephenG
It bothers me, because my friends are missing out on good music, the stuff they listen to isn't terrible. I havent listened to everything they have tho. The thing that annoys me is when they dismiss my music taste as totally gay. Then listen to something with no beauty or soul. black&white
To be a true coldplay fan, you have to live through people saying your a loser for listening to coldplay, ex: "You know how I know ur gay? You listen to coldplay." I just smile and admit that i am probably a loser. It doesnt bother me when people say coldplay sucks. I dont know why. If everyone was in love with them, it wouldnt make us special would it? I HATE PANIC AT THE DISCO. They are the opposite of coldplay in that their music sucks and the lyrics are just repetitive, trying to be meaningful, THERE IS NO MELODY just random sound. it acutally hurts my head and i cannot listen to it. and all the stupid teenagers who love it. like wth man...sometimes i hate teenagers..lol. and no matter what people say, Coldplay is a huge and popular and LOVED band. everyone has at least head of their singles and probably has one or two of them on their mp3. Like when x&Y first came out, I was listen to this girls mp3 and Speed of Sound was on their and all the rest of the songs were Japanese Pop. so yeah...you get my point. The point is that they make GOOD music that RESINATES with everyone and all ages. they have actual musical talent and im quite sure chris martin is a musical genious. Ebs757
None of my friends are like that anymore really... Coldplay is a decent band to just about all my friends... no one really hates them. I have made a few Coldplay fans over the months talking about their music and sending them youtube videos.

miss capa
all the fonts look different to me in this thread....hmmm i'm going crazy  Probably the most random thing I've ever seen in my life...besides the thing in my siggy about God being a snail... I'll have to say that I'm not going to take sides for this one becuase even though I'm a Coldplay fan, I'm actually more into heavier rock. I still get teased a li'l bit at school but its all in pure good heart and I take absolutely none of it to heart. Plus I do try to find something musical in bands such as P!ATD and Fall Out Boy because they're not totally musicallly ungifted (even if their music still is shithouse). For a loooooooooooooong time the only band I listened to was Coldplay and when I discovered other bands I began to freak out becuase I realised I liked their music better than Coldplay's and I was like "No! What? Coldplay are meant to be the best? What's happeneing?" but I'm OK with that now, Coldplay still mean everything to me becuase they're the reason I listen to music, and I'm forever in debt to them becuase of that... miss capa
^true, the amount of people I've come across who appreciate Coldplay faaar out-weighs those who hate them Even though the only person I've ever met who liked Coldplay as much as me moved to America...I'm not all that alone, I have at least two Coldplay-fan friends so I'm happy :D
The Mad Hatter
Panic at the Disco do not sound like Fall Out Boy. What's with all the Panic hate? I could sit here all day and talk about all of the ways I could hate Coldplay, or how much they suck, or whatever, but I don't. This isn't a thread about bashing other bands that people like. Some people like Panic at the Disco just as much as you guys like Coldplay, and there is just no reason to talk badly about other bands and musicians just because some of their fans don't like Coldplay.
