Mine is Violet Hill - I don't know if it's the sound quality - but I don't find A Spell A Rebel Yell is good song.

 

Violet Hill is a great song both, lyrically and on music terms

A Spell A Rebel Yell just has a very dated, repetitive, spacy-synthed feel. I kinda feel like it sounds like background music in Napoleon Dynamite. :laugh3: Not a good thing per say.

 

I gotta say Violet Hill takes the cake, both lyrically and "new sound-ly."

 

It's certainly a good progression of their music.

Liking them both. ASARY shouldn't ever be more than a b-side for a few reasons, but I really love it. Maybe a little more than VH. Hey, if they have Eno around why not get him to do one of his patented electronic tracks. Something nice to sink down into.

but i'm hoping that i'm going to like what's on the album itself more than both of these tracks combined. it's not that i don't like them, it's just that i had higher hopes so far. but i'm reserving judgement until VLVOD.

I like them both, but I like Violet Hill more. I think ASARY is a really good b-side.

ASARY is the better song, but it really suffers under the crappy sound quality recorded from the radio ..

 

It'll sound twice as good on the vinyll..

 

Its too short as well I think..

 

would of been nicer as a progressive 5 minute jam or something..

HAHAHA! After staying up all night with some of you waiting for VH, I have a deeper place in my heart for it...like a favorite Christmas gift. Even though I love ASARY, I have to choose VH just because of the sentiment behind it for me. But I love both.

ASARY is growing on me but for now my favorite is Violet Hill:)
